You're utube grave visitations are absolutely the VERY BEST of ALL I've EVER seen Sue!!! Thankyou for allowing subscribers & other's to experience ALL you're cemetery visitations! You're amazing!!!
I'm willing to bet that the reason for the Jewish areas being mark led off as dangerous is because they were often buried with valuables. Grave robbers aren't as prevalent as in days gone by being that there's easier ways for criminals to make money now. But they still exist, so it's probably a good thing you're not mentioning where this is.
If it gets out to the Jewish community that one of their cemetery's needs repairs l'm sure they will take care of it, especially if they've family buried there, no matter how distantly related or how old.
Fantastic EVP capture of the footsteps. And bless your heart, you legged it up those steps pretty fast, which is a perfectly reasonable decision to me lol 😱Thank you, I loved it all 🙏🇦🇺❤xx Teresa
@20:00 Yes it's eternal love and here comes the "But" They were of 2 different religions and it's was looked down on so much then some decided to make a statement in death that love will prevail even over their gods! There is a cemetery in Lonsdale CA where a couple couldn't be buried in the same place. Jew and Catholic, something like that, and they have a wall separating them but the outreached hands cross the divide over the wall.
There are a lot of cemeteries that put all of the children in their own little plot of land. My brother (18 mos) was buried in a children's cemetery. I, being as morbid as I am, think that all of those children's cemetery plots should have a playground in the center of them. I think it would be amazing for those who had siblings, so when mom or dad came to visit, the other children could play (maybe even with the ghost of their brothers and sisters?).
I just love the treasures you two always find on your explorations. I am never disappointed. Thankyou for taking us on this adventure. Much love from Australia
Dear Sue, the two hands on the grave of the Famille Cohen Levie (10:19) have a different meaning than a hand that gives another hand. As with married couples. The hands symbolize the fact that a person from the priestly lineage Cohen is buried at this location. There is a lot of information to be found on the internet about the name Cohen and the name Levie. A very special story and fascinating to delve into.

I like it that you combined both videos together. Very interesting cemetery, I would not disclose the name or location either. I am glad that efforts are being made to clean up the cemetery and restore it, but it is probably going to be a work in progress for a very long time. The Allard mausoleum was particularly interesting, they must have been a very rich and influential family. Great video/videos, thank you very much Sue and GV. Have a great week ahead 😊
Hi Sue, my Lord! But you are one brave woman, going down into that dark hole of the first mausoleum…slippery steps, awful smell…I give you credit for being so fearless bless you. An awful lot of burials in that one area, and water damage. Thank goodness there wasn’t anyone dossing down in there! (Whoever would want to do that?!) I loved all the porcelain photos on the graves as you walked round, and the lush greenery of nature almost cosseting those old grave stones still standing. Some of the porcelains look hauntingly beautiful surrounded by fresh greenery…nature being respectful in its way. Such an awful lot of restoration work to be done! Makes you wonder however they will find the funds to do it and make this beautiful old cemetery safe for people to visit again. When having a relative buried, one never thinks of the cost of maintaining it in the future when family have all passed away too!🤔 Think GV should have gone down mausoleum you heard footsteps, as he often gets EVP’s doesn’t he. Def footsteps Sue, not pawsteps bless you! And YES!! That very last mausoleum was a real distressing shocker…sculls taken it looked like for evil purposes..that poor man, still wearing smart pyjamas and coffin lining intact, but head gone. It’s unforgivable of these depraved devils to have such little respect for the loved ones of other people. Every lead coffin ripped open as you said. May they receive karma and very soon !!. 😠 Thankyou for taking us with you round such a beautiful cemetery….as you say, you need a packhorse to carry all the equipment you need to. Have with you “just in case”…..my suggestion would be a St Bernard dog , with one of those small barrels of brandy round it’s neck…..they used to advertise pictures of them back in the day like that anyone remember?……if no dogs allowed, you could always say it was a “care dog”!! …Thankyou again for taking us on adventures we can never get to ourselves…your both real Troopers bless you! What a beautiful old cemetery. I love the old photos. I see them and wonder what their lives were like. Seeing the graves of the children is so very sad. They never really got the chance to live. 😢
Great Video Sue I am realy ashamed to see that mausoleum with those lead coffins ripped open like that hope those grave robbers rot in hell for that defamation of a corpses
I love these type of cemeteries too, with all the trees and plants it’s so beautiful. I enjoyed going down the tomb also, it was very scary, but I thought if Sue goes down I will too. Thanks Sue for all these amazing walks, and cemetery visits, it does remind me of Highgate Cemetery, but I’ve just seen pictures of that cemetery, I’ve not been there in person, I love those porcelain flowers, it seems that they would be so fragile that they would all be broken. I also love seeing the pictures of the different people, but I get so sad, I guess because they used to be alive, and now they are gone 💔😢
Thank you for another beautiful and informative video! One strange thing I noticed was at 14:32. Everything is quiet with maybe a slight breeze when all of a sudden one of the warning tapes starts moving more than a little breeze would make it. You felt eerie and that looked eerie. Edit- And at 15:02 right after you say "the pillars are Roman style" someone answers you in agreement with mmhm.

Hello Serenity Sue, that's a very secretive place and don't blame you not giving location. Sorry I've missed out of some of your walks lately as I've haven't been well. Yet thank you for showing us what you ventured on this new outing. Am on the USA in Chicago Illinois. Just relaxing after cooking food and await while the oven does it's warm baking on Saturday afternoon. Much of a gloomy afternoon but it's okay.
It broke my heart seeing those People in their final resting place, their coffins, ripped apart like that -if you don’t respect Death then how can you respect Life…😢
It’s a shame this cemetery has had to be closed, hopefully it will be restored soon and reopened. It’s a beautiful place. Many thanks for taking us there. ♥️xxx
Great posting Sue. Yeah..that crypt looks pretty bad. Hope it can be reconditioned. Thought of you folks the other day. An old movie called "High Spirits". Peter O'Toole was great in it! Stay Safe folks!!!
Beautiful, beautiful cemetery. I hope they can fix it up again so it's accessible to the public. It should be seen and the people who lay there be remembered. Thank you for showing us these beautiful monuments. I'm like you: I like the trees and nature among the pathways and stones. And, no, I don't believe you heard an animal in that vault. It was very faint but I heard footsteps too.
I think it's a sign of the times we live in that people don't bury their loved ones with the dignity, reverence, and honor that they did not that long ago. I look at my family and other old families and I see the deterioration of custom, values, and honor.
@@LynnCarlan I don't believe your statement is correct. As all empires eventually fall, once a family's wealth or the family simply dies out who is going to look after a grave. Monuments were so beautiful before the mid 20th century. Our ancestors celebrated life and They didn't care about the cost. Here in the USA, I've seen just a small memorial and funeral together. People don't care about their dead like they once did. That's for sure.
Absolutely amazing Jewish sections. Today the monuments in Jewish cemeteries are fairly all remarkable, most breathe same shape for continuity. Most important are what's written in Hebrew, family names etc only. This area has beautiful gravestones, pictures & sculptures. I dearly hope they'll be able too clean & resurrect the graves. Tida rabba Sue.. ( thankyou so much)
I love Mother Nature too...very much. But I wonder though. The people who started the cemetery probably wanted their loved ones memories to live on..and on...and made the beautiful markers with poignant words and dates for all of us going forward to read. So it makes me a bit sad to have overgrowth obscuring and damaging these precious memories..and leaving markers unreadable. They made the cemetery in such a lovely area surrounded by the trees, and flowers..but I still want to see their sweet markers and words and pictures. Thank you for the wonderful tour ❤
Any old cemeteries that have people who died in the Cholera epidemic will never be removed or relocated because of the fear of the bodies still carrying enough of the disease to be able to still infect the living. We have a huge cemetery in downtown Anchorage Alaska that will never be exhumed and placed elsewhere just for that reason even though the land is extremely valuable.
I remember hearing somewhere that people had to sit longer back then for the photography chemicals to do their job, and that they might have gotten tired of "holding a smile."
@@SerenitySueGraveyards I just now remembered a picture of a great uncle of mine who had a really mean look in his picture! They always say it takes more facial muscle to smile; so I guess it takes less muscles to look mean.
I like that one gentleman's picture wearing his bowler hat! I've got a bowler and a "Bombay bowler" pith helmet. They need to bring back both of those hats!

You know, Sue..... I took photography when I was in college 30-odd years ago. A few years ago, my neighbor gave me a somewhat old Digital SLR camera. So, I started getting back into photography for a summer, and because I live in Baltimore, Maryland (USA).... there are many places nearby that are abandoned, falling apart, and some that are empty shells of buildings with the street level entries boarded up to prevent intruders. I went all over town taking pictures of places like that, and I called the project (well, the directory I saved the photos in) "Beauty in Decay", which has a double meaning. Baltimore has some fascinating architecture, and it's fairly unique to the area. It is also quite beautiful in that regard. So, somewhere that was once beautiful but is now decaying away. But also, because I'm that "creepy" kind of person (we discussed this before), I see the beauty OF that kind of decay. The title of "Beauty in Decay" has that particular double meaning. So, yeah, seeing places like these that you show so often, reminds me of that particular title I gave that photo series. Also, I don't remember if I mentioned this to you before, but once my time has come to an end, I want to be cremated (I do not want to risk what has happened to some of these poor defenseless people, to happen to me), and have my ashes mixed with concrete, that can be used to make my wife's headstone (she wants to be buried, and with some of my ashes, which I'm okay with). That idea was given to me by the "Andor" show (Star Wars related), and I think it would be SO fitting to be my wife's headstone when she finally passes. She has been my "rock" these past 15 years (and counting), so it would be fitting if I was hers until our sun explodes and takes this planet out in another 5 billion years or so. 13:00 - I just had a thought..... since many of these graves are from the 1800s, was anything other than wood used to make coffins? Certainly, "burial vaults" weren't in use back then, were they? (I have a friend who used to deliver those to cemeteries all over town when he was working) So, I'm wondering.... could we be seeing plant life that has been fed by the decaying corpses of those buried in these places? That would add a whole new dimension to these videos, wouldn't it. 16:45 - You probably know this, but when photography first became "a thing", it became quite common for "post mortem" pictures to be taken of the decedent. I'm mentioning it, since there may be people coming here who aren't aware of that. At the time, pictures were quite expensive, so it wasn't uncommon for such an expense to be spent on "one last photograph" of someone before they went into the ground. 21:00 - That "hands held both in life and in death" is SO sweet! That is true love, right there. I missed the time index..... but yes, I heard it/them.
Right lots of clearing and maintenance needs to be done it's also a biggest cemetery very old under ground is very creepy one coffin is missing someone also entered thier
In the "olden days" it was believed by many that if you smiled in a photo the devil would grab your soul. Hence the somber tone of the photos. That was what i was told as a child by my scottish grandmother.

We have a huge cemetery in downtown Anchorage Alaska that will never be exhumed and placed elsewhere just for that reason even though the land is extremely valuable.
No harm that they leave them there, no graveyard should be moved or built over
Wow!
I remember hearing somewhere that people had to sit longer back then for the photography chemicals to do their job, and that they might have gotten tired of "holding a smile."
Yes, that is why no one smilled
@@SerenitySueGraveyards I just now remembered a picture of a great uncle of mine who had a really mean look in his picture! They always say it takes more facial muscle to smile; so I guess it takes less muscles to look mean.
I like that one gentleman's picture wearing his bowler hat! I've got a bowler and a "Bombay bowler" pith helmet. They need to bring back both of those hats!
Hopefully Sue we never experience the loss of a child nor experience the pain may all the little ones R.I.P,All the growth as if natures decided to protect those who rest here, top number sue, safe travels to you and GV,keep dry,🙏🙏👏👏👋👋🇦🇺
Oh Peter, I never want to feel such loss
In Victorian times it was considered rude to smile for a photo. I looked into it when I inherited very old photos from my great aunt.
Oh really
It was a spirit walking Serenity Sue
I definitely felt like it was
You know, Sue.....
Thanks so much ❤️

Your a very brave woman. I would be too scared to go down there
Thanks ❤️
My late mother told me they didn't smile in pictures in that time period because they were so expensive. And i'm sorry about that creepy grave openings
In the "olden days" it was believed by many that if you smiled in a photo the devil would grab your soul. Hence the somber tone of the photos. That was what i was told as a child by my scottish grandmother.
No way
Beautiful old cemetery 🙂
It sure is
