Something Wicked This Way Comes is great. Read it for the first time last month. Really liked the quiet atmosphere in it.

Agreed. It is the perfect halloween book. I might read it every year. Thanks.

Dude Red Rising is what's up. You will find so many moments in that series where you stop reading, look up, and say to your roommate/coworker/random person on the bus: "What the Sam hell just happened?!" I honestly recommend it best as a buddy read because you WILL want to talk about these books with someone and you will drive people nuts unless you have a willing sounding board. I had to read the Scythe trilogy (Shusterman) that way too.

Dracula is at the top of my list in October

I’m currently reading Home Before Dark by Riley Sager and on audio, Right Behind You by Lisa Gardner. My lengthy list of TBRs for October are My Best Friend’s Exorcism (before I watch your review), Kill Creek, The Mammoth Book of Halloween Stories (Stephen Jones), and The Messy Man series by Chris Sorensen. Whew!
I notice you have a copy of McCammon’s They Thirst on your bookshelf and I’m jealous. It’s one of my very favorite vampire stories and I lent my copy years ago to a college friend who never returned it. I’ve been eyeing a used copy in very good condition someone is selling online, but it’s hard to part with $35 for a used paperback… but I’m craving the read, so I’ll probably give in since I’ve found it’s likely my only option. 🤓

Awww man you're going to love Cipher. Honestly one of my absolute fave books after reading it last year. The characters and premise are sooo good.

I’m planning on reading blood meridian , the first three books of blood by Clive barker and disappearance at devils rock by Paul tremblay. I’m waiting for your review of my best friends exorcism to see if I’ll pick it up

The Cipher is amazing. Absolutely unforgettable. I have Something Wicked on my October TBR too, along with a bunch of pulps.

'Splatterpunk' not a term you hear a whole lot. Always enjoy your videos, keep adding new to me authors to check out.

Yeah it's kind of fallen out of favor. Skipp and Spector are like the daddies of splatterpunk I guess. Never read anything by them so I'm not sure what to expect.

Yess!!! I was going to say that The Hot Zone reminded me of The Andromeda Strain! Im looking forward to going out & Getting Kill Creek!!
I highly recommend checking out a little unknown gem (& my #1 favorite) AMA by Daniel MacKillican 🖤you won't regret it. Glad I stumbled across your channel

Something Wicked this way Comes was good, I read that last year around this time.
After Exorcist and Kill Creek, I'm hoping to get to Interview with Vampire and Dracul, which is a prequel to Dracula. I have other books I want to try, but I'm not a fast reader, so that may be it for October. But I do want to read sometime soon Ghost Story by Peter Straub and Come with Me by Ronald Malfi.

Kin really wasn't a good book, I thought. Forgettable characters, some strange and severely out of place commentary on the war in Iraq, and an ending that completely went to shit. Really wanted that book to be better than it was.
