- In this video, I give a quick flyover of the Apogee Symphony Studio series audio interfaces. There are 3 configurations and the base model (2x12) is an entry-level option for Atmos mixing for $1999.

Got a 2x12 over the weekend and had a bunch of issues with the Apogee Control 2 app (primarily it failing to save my delay compensation settings) but once Support got me sorted out yesterday it's been running smoothly. Sounds pretty great, on-par with the MTRX Studios I use at work which is something for sure.
But who’s getting DA work unless you live in LA? Plus RME UFX 3 can with ADAT give you the DA channel count with an interface that will last longer than Apogee. Just my opinion and thank you for a great video.
I know lots of folks outside of LA getting Atmos work - you just need to have the right clients who want or need Atmos work. Personally I've folded it into my standard mix package and upped my rate a little bit to reflect that and I haven't gotten any pushback from clients looking for Atmos mixes along with stereo. Clients who don't want Atmos can request to not receive one and get my old mix rate too but it's such a buzzword that so many clients agree to get one without even knowing really what it is and where it goes.
