These Ut drives are great. Drove most of em in 88, 90,91. Not this 1 though since had a regular Buick Regal 3,8. Gas was $1,10-1,25. I was young. And from far away home. wrote some poetry while in silence, takin a breeak. Saludos cordiales desde Finlandia 🇫🇮
It's fascinating how certain places can bring back vivid memories, isn't it? Utah is a great place to create those memories. It's such a vast and inspirational environment. Love that our videos are reaching further and further. Thanks for watching from Finland!
That's awesome. Moab is such a stunning place with so much natural beauty. It must be fantastic to have an extra reason to visit. I'm sure your next trip will be just as incredible. The scenery is definitely worth the journey. Thanks for sharing, and happy travels next summer! 🌄🚙
Thanks,it was decades ago but running through the sands and seeing it upclose was so fun and real, ive seen pretty much the u.s.a and canada, alaska was a harsh ride in 69 tho,the original road, with boulders for roads,
Great footage, thank you! Going to be there in August this year. Still not sure what car I need...can I take a rental midsize SUV (AWD/4x4) to this road? Or should I rent a Jeep? Regards from Switzerland
Thanks! You’re going to have a great time. A midsize SUV should be absolutely fine. We've used full-size SUVs (rear-wheel and all-wheel drive) several times without any problems. One thing to consider with a rental: You might not be covered by insurance if something happens (although, if you’re a careful driver, it should be okay). Also, rental SUVs usually come with regular tires, not off-road ones. This isn’t usually a big issue, but keep in mind that regular tires are more prone to punctures on these roads. It's going to be so much fun! Take your time and enjoy the spectacular scenery. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
@@WorldofDrives Thanks a lot for your answer! Well didn't think about the tires, but it's a thing to consider. I dont wanna deal with a flat tire. Personally I think, a Jeep Wrangler or similar gives me a better personal feeling. I also wann see some spots in Hanksville which are off the roads. Means in the end, rent a Jeep for these two drives. For the rest, a regular car would be fine. Doesnt make the choice easier :)
You are very welcome. It's all about managing risks and deciding which ones you're willing to take. Hanksville has some amazing roads. Make sure to visit the roads around Factory Butte and Moonscape Overlook (and not just because that place is famous on social media). We have a video in the works for driving in that specific area. Have fun making all those choices.
That is really exciting, it’s such a great road! You should be totally fine with a 2025 Ram 1500 4x4 and will have more than sufficient ground clearance. We've driven the road many times with different vehicles, including a large 4x4 SUV on this occasion. The only 'risk' we took was driving on regular tires. Off-road tires aren't necessary, but they might save you the hassle of a puncture, which we fortunately so far always have avoided during our off-road adventures. We've even seen sedans handle the route, though we wouldn't recommend it. What other plans do you have while being in that area?

@@WorldofDrives Driving those dirt roads always worry about the tires 🤗
We totally get that worry. We try to arrive with proper gear, including off road tires, when possible.
Mesmerizing, into work of art territory😃👍

What were you driving? We are going out in June. Taking a 2025 ram 1500 4x4. Stock. Think I'll need more ground clearance?

@@WorldofDrives yeah we're looking to hit Shafer trail as well. Thanks for the reply. Happy new year
You are going to have a lot of fun. Shafer trail is in pretty good condition. They did some maintenance on it last year. Happy New Year!
