It's amazing how the lyrics is so elaborately designed to rhyme, hold deep meaning to shake our souls, sound real smooth, and be pleasant to pronounce all at the same time. This is pure perfection.
I think it's about someone who's given up on the singer. he still cares for them deeply, but they have nothing left to give to him, but he's singing about how he would give anything to have that person back, I'm sure a lot of people can relate
***** To me, the entier album is a story. Telling a story between two people mainly. The narrator and his partner. Dark on me i think is at the point of the story where the partner dies, along with what is left of the morals an inhibitions of the narrator. In "Let It Die" he tries to bring them back, only for whats left of his memory of them to beg him not to, and then point of no return and rise and fall are the points where the narrator stands up to the force he's been fighting the whole album, or that militarized police force you see in the carnivore video, or sometimes at their live shows.

Considering the way the songs and albums are ordered, I came up with this story: *• 1st song, Down With The Fallen.* So, 2 people (The singer and a loved one, like a most beloved friend) got separated to 2 different corners of space by a mysterious circumstance. The first song (Down with the fallen) explains, now that he's lost everything he thought he cared about, he's down with all the people who have lost in life. ("Can you tell me how to feel?" - Numbness, "Can you tell me what is real?" - Derealisation). *• 2nd song, Halo:* So, he's now trying to search for the loved one, who he thinks is in trouble. ("Set off the signal, and I'll follow. Even if it means the death of me.") Suggesting he wants her to give him a signal, so he could find her. In the music video, it also shows her being taken by some people we don't know who are. *• 3rd song, Carnivore:* His feelings and past experiences are now catching up to him, trying to bring him down. ("Never enough, who I am is not good enough"), ("Carnivore, carnivore"). It disappeared out of nowhere, like a dying star. ("Send a signal, to guide me home. Light the night up, you're my dark start, and now you're falling away"). He feels pain, sadness; and regret, as he couldn't find her in time. *•9th song, Let it die:* Turns out, there was a message that was transmitted from the point. The singer doesn't know if this was pre-recorded, or something just said. However, it was her voice, telling him to "let it die", not her, "it", the signal. ("But you told me, if you love me, let it die."). At first, he thinks it was pre-recorded ("I've been looking for a way to bring you back to life"), but then he found that perhaps she had to turn off the signal because the people who separated them was also tracking it. *•10th song, The Future Is Now:* He's initiating his plan to try and find her. ("As if there was no way, but they forgot the black hole in the sky"), ("flying into this future, I will let the science bring the change.") He discovered that the star dying + her final transmission could be used to pinpoint her location. ("With the full force of a dying star, I will find you, if you are near or far, wherever you are".). ("They push my back against the wall, but I attack and take it all.") How his life has risen and fallen. In his past, he was constantly brought down by everyone in his life (fall). Then he found a person who would always be there for him (rise). Then that got taken away by them the people (fall). Now he's back on his feet and ready to find her again (rise). This can compare to him on the planet, feeling hopeless, and "Down with the Fallen", to now, where he has risen over the surface and is gonna find her. The Vessel album is basically all about the journey towards her. Using a vessel to get there, and the long journey. (I've only listened to a few songs from Vessel, so please, I'm open to suggestions). I personally think "the signal" is some sort of Doppler shift, as after a few of the songs, they mention the Doppler effect. Especially after "It Has Begun", where it states: "Analysis of the Doppler shift as the satellite passes, will tell you exactly where you are on Earth. This fact forms the basis of many navigational satellite systems. This system is more accurate than any other navigation systems known today, accuracy that can establish a *pinpoint of latitude and longitude* ." Also, the first song in Vessel is "Satellite".
On holidays, when it's warm outside. My favourite thing is going out at night, sitting in my garden on grass and stargazing. When I do it, I always put on headphones and listen to starset music. As a kid, who wants to be an astronaut it's such a wonderful feeling. Just like you were already in outer space.

I'm so sorry this happened to you and your family. It feels like suicide it becoming more and more of an issue that needs be addressed. A co-worker's middle school student recently died by suicide. It's horribly sad and depressing. I hope you can keep keeping on despite the tragedy. Just know anyone that depressed and mentally ill doesn't mean to hurt you (said as a person that experienced suicidal ideation for over a decade and had a suicide plan). I don't know why I'm still here and your son isn't. Hang in there, my friend.

+VCdemon I love the dual meaning they employ behind their music. "Light the night up, your my dark star. And now your falling away." Dark Star is another name for a black hole, I believe what he's describing here is a star falling into itself, forming a black hole. "But I found in you what was lost in me. In a world so cold and empty" Talking about a planet being ripped apart as it's pulled into the gravity well of the dark star. "Sinking ship that I could not let go. You led my way then disappeared". They knew the star was going haywire, specifically sinking ship is used implying that it's sinking, into it's own event horizon. Then at the same time all of this describes someone your pouring your heart into that you are just hoping for one sign that they too are into you. Only to see them absorb all of those feelings and walk away or possibly fall apart.
This song makes me remember when I was a kid, and I would wish upon a star for things to get better. I did it every night. And now, listening to this, I feel the music down to my very being. And I feel like it completes me.

ima be honest all the other great bands like 3 days grace, Panic at the disco and offspring fall out boy they all speak to me..but starset literally touches my heart somehow...there songs and everything just touches my heart..and like this the first time a band has ever done this to me...so that is why there like my favorite band.

This is a beautiful song, a unrivaled creation, how do we say it? Perfect. Pure, uncut, perfection. No other song I have heard has come even CLOSE to this one, in terms of how well-made it is. They've managed to make something as great as this. And I can't wait for what they do next. This song has literally, no problems, cut-outs, nothing. It's just pure earsex with the music you love, to put it in a odd way. 10/10 song, Starset, hope you continue to make more music as good as, or perhaps even better than this. Cause this is incredible. And as I stated before, perfect. Whether or not you use autotune, or something else to fix mistakes in your music, this song is, and shall remain, perfect. Good job.
The end about the space telescope gives me a sense of existential dread... anyone else feeling that? Still, I really like the clips at the end of their songs, because it gives it a sense of album unity, and I think that's really cool. And Starset is amazing.

People who are hearing these things that it's about God (with the capital G and everything) That's ok but personally I interpret it differently for my life as im sure other fans do. Evanescence is amazing. You should check out Amy Lee's cover of With or Without you. Hauntingly beautiful. If you want something more light hearted and sweet, check out her cover of Love Exists. They're my favourite of her cover songs. Of course the original stuff is amazing too, don't get me wrong.

This song speaks so much. I feel like it's an outlet to what I am going through. It's my first pregnancy and my husband has always been my guidance in life but since the pregnancy I feel like our world has flipped and he doesn't know how to handle the situation. I'd like to use this song as a eulogy to the animals I cannot and could not save... It makes me bawl like a little baby when I think on them... The lyrics are perfect. Every one of them is so important, and I miss them so deeply. The hardest part of rescue is finding in them what was lost in me just so while in the dark of night they go dark on me.
This is what the song made me feel: A couple has just had a very big fight, one of many they’ve had. After the fight, theres no more screaming. Theres no more tears. Theres no more words to be said. Theres not even anger or hate. Theres just numbing silence. And they both realize in that moment that, despite how much they love each other, which they do very toxically love each other, they’ve both grown numb and fallen away from each other.
Sometimes when I say "I'm okay", I want someone to look me in the eyes, hug me and say, "I know you're not." Sometimes all you can do is smile. Move on with your day, hold back the tears and pretend you're okay. Over time we'll forget each other, but I'll always continue to wonder... what if you had been a little bit more stronger and loved me a little bit longer. No one is perfect, but in my eyes you were. It's a shame I gave you all of me and my only heart to you, just for you to break it into more pieces than there are stars in the universe. But it's alright eventually I'll collect all the pieces, put it back together and entrust it to someone else.

He was lying there with our daughter. It seemed to me like he was sleeping. He actually had a heartattack. I dont quite know what happend since I noticed it to late that something was wrong :/ Our daughter started crying when I was looking after her I was confused cause he kinda lay on top of his e-book. I tried to wake him. And then I noticed he wasn't breathing :/ the doctor couldnt get him back..

I finally found this song again. One of my friends committed suicide in 2015 (the first of eight in the next two years). He was my brother in spirit and we had been through numerous hard times growing up. Living through the mental, verbal, and physical abuse of parents that hated us, simply because we were different. One day, life hit him so hard all passion for anything in life went out of him. He lived that way for 2 weeks (with me trying to pull him out of it) throughout that time I was trying to get his parents to stop yelling and making fun of him. I begged and pleaded with them. Unfortunately it wasn't enough, and he hung himself. He was my Dark Star (we literally joked about it. We said that we where each stars me the Bright Star cause I protected and him the Dark Star cause he protected me. When he left me, he took the piece of me that made me whole, with him. I miss you so much Brother. I hope wherever you are, in whatever afterlife you believe in, I hope you find the peace that wasn't offered to you on Earth. I love and miss you.

***** To me, the entier album is a story. Telling a story between two people mainly. The narrator and his partner. Dark on me i think is at the point of the story where the partner dies, along with what is left of the morals an inhibitions of the narrator. In "Let It Die" he tries to bring them back, only for whats left of his memory of them to beg him not to, and then point of no return and rise and fall are the points where the narrator stands up to the force he's been fighting the whole album, or that militarized police force you see in the carnivore video, or sometimes at their live shows.
Kaze Steampunk let it die is about trying to revive a dead relationship.

*• 1st song, Down With The Fallen.* So, 2 people (The singer and a loved one, like a most beloved friend) got separated to 2 different corners of space by a mysterious circumstance. The first song (Down with the fallen) explains, now that he's lost everything he thought he cared about, he's down with all the people who have lost in life. ("Can you tell me how to feel?" - Numbness, "Can you tell me what is real?" - Derealisation).
*• 2nd song, Halo:* So, he's now trying to search for the loved one, who he thinks is in trouble. ("Set off the signal, and I'll follow. Even if it means the death of me.") Suggesting he wants her to give him a signal, so he could find her. In the music video, it also shows her being taken by some people we don't know who are.
*• 3rd song, Carnivore:* His feelings and past experiences are now catching up to him, trying to bring him down. ("Never enough, who I am is not good enough"), ("Carnivore, carnivore"). In the meantime, I think the "military police" is the people he fought past earlier in life, and may perhaps be the people who took separated them.
*• 4th song, Telescope:* He's now scouting the skies, using a "Telescope" ("Where no one knows, I've watched you from, my Telescope"). He's trying to get to her, and rescue her, no matter where she is ("I will travel the distance in your eyes, interstellar light years from you").
*• 5th song, It Has Begun:* He's beginning to draft the plans of going out into space and finding her, which is complicated. ("A map to one man maze, that never sees the sun"), ('Where the lost, are the heroes, and the thieves are left to drown"). It ends up with him finding a signal and being able to hone into it.
*• 6th song, My Demons:* His feelings of loneliness and emptiness and past memories are getting overwhelming ("Mayday mayday, the ship is slowly sinking"), ("They're all around me"). "Take me high and I'll sing" refers to him getting into space from the planet he's stranded on.
*• 7th song, Antigravity:* He's finding it difficult to find a way to get to her, and a plan seems impossible. ("The more I dig into the dirt, to be fed up, to be let down"). But all of a sudden, he's found a way to perhaps escape the gravity holding him down. ("Then it falls away, into the great escape. Over walls, embrace, this antigravity taking over me"), ("The energy, to set me free, and pull me through the galaxy").
*• 8th song, Dark on me:* The signal he has been tracking and finding suddenly went away. It disappeared out of nowhere, like a dying star. ("Send a signal, to guide me home. Light the night up, you're my dark start, and now you're falling away"). He thinks she died, or went away, never to return. ("In the dead of night, you went dark on me."). He feels pain, sadness; and regret, as he couldn't find her in time.
*•9th song, Let it die:* Turns out, there was a message that was transmitted from the point. The singer doesn't know if this was pre-recorded, or something just said. However, it was her voice, telling him to "let it die", not her, "it", the signal. ("But you told me, if you love me, let it die."). At first, he thinks it was pre-recorded ("I've been looking for a way to bring you back to life"), but then he found that perhaps she had to turn off the signal because the people who separated them was also tracking it.
*•10th song, The Future Is Now:* He's initiating his plan to try and find her. ("As if there was no way, but they forgot the black hole in the sky"), ("flying into this future, I will let the science bring the change.") He discovered that the star dying + her final transmission could be used to pinpoint her location. ("With the full force of a dying star, I will find you, if you are near or far, wherever you are".). The "audio" video is also what appears to be some sort of wormhole or loop he's flying into.
*• 11th song, Point of No Return:* This is it. He's in space, just after having left the planet he was stuck on. He looks back, and now he can never return. He's officially left the surface. ("This is the point of no return"). He kinda looks back at it, as a little safe haven, but he knows his destiny. ("There's something sinister, about the way it hurts, when I watch it burn. Because I can't go back."). He's also leaving behind the feelings of hopelessness, and the carnivores (of his past).
*• 12th song, Rise and Fall:* He's again reflecting on his past, and comparing it to how he feels now. ("They push my back against the wall, but I attack and take it all.") How his life has risen and fallen. In his past, he was constantly brought down by everyone in his life (fall). Then he found a person who would always be there for him (rise). Then that got taken away by them the people (fall). Now he's back on his feet and ready to find her again (rise). This can compare to him on the planet, feeling hopeless, and "Down with the Fallen", to now, where he has risen over the surface and is gonna find her.
The Vessel album is basically all about the journey towards her. Using a vessel to get there, and the long journey. (I've only listened to a few songs from Vessel, so please, I'm open to suggestions).
I personally think "the signal" is some sort of Doppler shift, as after a few of the songs, they mention the Doppler effect. Especially after "It Has Begun", where it states: "Analysis of the Doppler shift as the satellite passes, will tell you exactly where you are on Earth. This fact forms the basis of many navigational satellite systems. This system is more accurate than any other navigation systems known today, accuracy that can establish a *pinpoint of latitude and longitude* ." Also, the first song in Vessel is "Satellite".

On holidays, when it's warm outside. My favourite thing is going out at night, sitting in my garden on grass and stargazing. When I do it, I always put on headphones and listen to starset music. It's horribly sad and depressing. I hope you can keep keeping on despite the tragedy. "Sinking ship that I could not let go. You led my way then disappeared". They knew the star was going haywire, specifically sinking ship is used implying that it's sinking, into it's own event horizon.
Then at the same time all of this describes someone your pouring your heart into that you are just hoping for one sign that they too are into you. Only to see them absorb all of those feelings and walk away or possibly fall apart.

*• 12th song, Rise and Fall:* He's again reflecting on his past, and comparing it to how he feels now. ("They push my back against the wall, but I attack and take it all.") How his life has risen and fallen. In his past, he was constantly brought down by everyone in his life (fall). Then he found a person who would always be there for him (rise). Then that got taken away by them the people (fall). Now he's back on his feet and ready to find her again (rise). This can compare to him on the planet, feeling hopeless, and "Down with the Fallen", to now, where he has risen over the surface and is gonna find her.
The Vessel album is basically all about the journey towards her. Using a vessel to get there, and the long journey. (I've only listened to a few songs from Vessel, so please, I'm open to suggestions).
I personally think "the signal" is some sort of Doppler shift, as after a few of the songs, they mention the Doppler effect. Especially after "It Has Begun", where it states: "Analysis of the Doppler shift as the satellite passes, will tell you exactly where you are on Earth. This fact forms the basis of many navigational satellite systems. This system is more accurate than any other navigation systems known today, accuracy that can establish a *pinpoint of latitude and longitude* ." Also, the first song in Vessel is "Satellite".

It's funny you mention that...I always get a Red feeling when I listen to this son in particular.

He was lying there with our daughter. It seemed to me like he was sleeping. He actually had a heartattack. I dont quite know what happend since I noticed it to late that something was wrong :/ Our daughter started crying when I was looking after her I was confused cause he kinda lay on top of his e-book. I tried to wake him. And then I noticed he wasn't breathing :/ the doctor couldnt get him back..

I finally found this song again. One of my friends committed suicide in 2015 (the first of eight in the next two years). He was my brother in spirit and we had been through numerous hard times growing up. Living through the mental, verbal, and physical abuse of parents that hated us, simply because we were different. One day, life hit him so hard all passion for anything in life went out of him. He lived that way for 2 weeks (with me trying to pull him out of it) throughout that time I was trying to get his parents to stop yelling and making fun of him. I begged and pleaded with them. Unfortunately it wasn't enough, and he hung himself. He was my Dark Star (we literally joked about it. We said that we where each stars me the Bright Star cause I protected and him the Dark Star cause he protected me. When he left me, he took the piece of me that made me whole, with him. I miss you so much Brother. I hope wherever you are, in whatever afterlife you believe in, I hope you find the peace that wasn't offered to you on Earth. I love and miss you.
