Dust devil what a great knife. I have become a fan of your work KC. Keep em coming man I will do my best to own them all. I would like to collect every knife you have designed. Thanks brother for the video
You're mainly talking about food prep but I must say, I'm very attracted by this knife as a tool in the bush. As a long neck knife actually. Because of the full hand grip and the straight blade length, the recessed scales that give extra steel to endure batoning, on small pieces of wood obviously (that we mainly do nowadays in camping situation for exemple), and everything around. Feather sticking, notches and splitting on flat surface... The steel toughness of 14C28n that I trust by experience, even if it's above 60HRC. The reinforced tip and the spear point design. The high rust resistance against sweat and water. I really do think it could perfectly handle small bushcraft tasks with ease, and be confortable to wear around the neck as well. Definitely looking forward to get one. Great design and materials in my point of view. 90° spine in tip area, taco Kydex sheath and textured G10 scales would be a nice update for that purpose though.
Well thank you very much. I use mine outside a lot. By the way, this is my design for my company Tempest knives and ed a collaboration with Kubey. I'm glad you like it so much
This has been a great success for Tempest Knives and Kubey ... so Congratulations to both of you for this licensed collaboration. Reminds me of a Canadian Belt Knife with its overall profile ... and that is a GOOD thing. The black burlap is probably awesome in-hand. Very useful, practical EDC fixie. Thanks KC, and nice job.
I picked up the red micarta version 2nd fixed blade ever had to add it to my tempest knives collection and also the people on the Internet that say you don't know how to use a knife most likely own a mtech or frost cutlery lol great video man 👍
Thank you so much. It means a lot that you would pick up a fixed blade, especially knowing you don't have many of them. And yeah people are interesting. LOL. But you're right. Thanks
That is a great design. I love the drop sheep blade on the Pinion. But I don't think this is the knife that'll get me to EDC a fixed blade. (I'd really like something I can slip into a cargo pocket the way I do a folder. So a deeper sheath with a clip would be great. But I haven't seen any quite like that, so I may not be a decent-sized market segment.)
Totally get what you're saying. I drop it in the pocket, but if you want it secured by a clip, that's a different thing. Maybe one of the custom leather makers can help you out if you're interested. Thanks!
So let me get this straight. You filmed this so long ago, that the fractus preorder already sold out. And not only did the dust devil sell out. But it came back in stock and some have already sold out again? Tighten up KC! 😅😂 just kidding. Love ya man. You are on fire right now. ❤🎉❤🎉 and apparently all devils instock
Looks like a nice design of knife, except for the part where 5% of the blade has been ground away in the choil where the blade part meets the handle part. I do a lot of cutting of cords and opening large plastic bags. On a knife like the Dust Devil, the cord or plastic invariably gets hung up in that choil - very frustrating when I am using the knife in my work for hours at a time doing landscaping. I would consider buying a couple of the Dust Devils if they did not have the choil ground into them.
@@KnivesFAST Some people only use the tip, but I use the whole thing. 😎 Don't pass up a good opportunity to elevate your design a notch or two higher. I am passionate about receiving the whole blade when I purchase a knife. That choil is game-over for a knife purchase for many people like myself. You don't have to sharpen that part of the blade, just don't grind it away. We will gladly sharpen that edge - we just can't sharpen the blade adjoining the ricasso if that part of the blade is ground away. Use it as an advertising advantage like " My knife design gives you 100% of the knife blade", not 95% like those other guys. This is especially important for outdoorsmen and campers who are using a lot of paracord. I use a couple of knives daily, that don't have a choil - and the difference in use is amazing. I have no "difficulty" in sharpening the edge near the ricasso - it just take a little more time. Separate your design from the crowd.
@@grayskwerl4973 Thank you for the input. I'll definitely consider it, but I guarantee you I would lose a huge portion of the market if people were not able to sharpen the knife properly. I definitely like having a toil to sharpen. Thank you!
To each their own. I wanted it to be small enough to tuck away in the pocket or on your side without jabbing you and it's a good size in the hand for most EDC tasks for me. Thanks
@@KnivesFAST no you are right for sure, my hand just has like arthritis or carpel or something so my hand hurts trying to grip the Boker ak1 daily knives

KC, you are doing far more to move our hobby forward than those who stand on the sidelines and throw stones. Well done.
That means a lot man. I sure am trying. Thanks
KC, please help… there is a mob outside my house with pitchforks chanting, “give us the Piss Devil!”

Nice! I just scooped up the red micarta. Seems like the opposite was true about availability though shortly after video was uploaded.
Awesome, Yeah they've been in and out of stock and there's more coming. Can you tell me where you got yours? Thanks
