I ordered this unit with an extra collar about 2 weeks ago. It seemed like a nice unit until trying to connect the second collar. It wouldn’t connect. After an hour on the phone with customer service we got it connected but it wouldn’t update settings, they said they’ve seen it before and it’s an issue with the app. They forwarded the issue to the app developer team and said they’d keep me updated, got an email the next day that they haven’t resolved it yet, the following day they said it was all fixed…however I still could not get it to work with second collar. I filed for a return on the system and have went with Halo, a little more money but I have both collars set up without issue and the collars are definitely lighter and nicer than the Petsafe ones. We have moved onto the gps unit because our wired fence had multiple breaks this past spring so I buried all new wire, about 900’, and it has breaks again just a couple months later; the original wire lasted 2 years
The Halo can sometimes issue a correction when inside the house but is very sporadic when it does it, seems to happen as the battery gets lower and it needs a firmware update. We have adjusted by just taking it off them most of the time when they come in, not a big deal through the winter as they are only outside a few minutes at a time 3x a day but we will see how it works with nicer weather here as they can let themselves out with the screen door and the collars will be on them whenever we are at home until bedtime
We haven't tested smaller fences with the Guardian, but typically with GPS fences if they let you make smaller than the recommended minimum size then its more prone to boundary drift.
Yeah, no disrespect or anything but you're not tying the least the caller. You're putting it on a harness or you're putting on a normal dog collar not onto the shock collar that would obviously make the dog feel uncomfortable

I really appreciate you trying out the collar on yourself. LOL. Even at 3 your reaction shows it sure would work for a dog. Thanks for doing that.
Our pleasure 😄
So if I dog goes through the boundary, will he be corrected for trying to come back in?
I honestly don’t remember, but I would think not. I broke the antenna off of my base station, otherwise I’d test it for you.
Hahaha this was very entertaining. I love honest reviews
Thank u for the informative reviews 👍
Our pleasure, thanks for watching!
Good review. I wish someone would make a pet vest or harness version especially for smaller dogs.
Thank you! That's a really cool idea. Good thinking!
It says it needs to have at least 3/4 of an acre, but i can't see anywhere that it says the maximum acreage it will cover? Do you know?
I can’t track down an exact number unfortunately, but it should be essentially unlimited.
You should mention that this collar is ONLY available in the USA.
I just bought the petsafe guardian. The collar is realty large. Does it come in a smaller size. We have a 11 lb Jack Russell.
It doesn't as far as I know. That's the smallest collar of the GPS fences I'm aware of. Their wireless systems can go a bit smaller I think.
Looking for ecollar that can fence in 3 acres at home and then can do an area when at the beach. Which one is best for this ?
Spoton would be great. Halo could also get the job done.

Sorry to hear about your troubles with the PetSafe. Glad the halo is working well for you! Thanks for sharing.
Do you still like the halo? I'm in the market for a system I can trust and depend on.

I saw the website says for yards over 3/4 of an acre or larger, what happens if your yard is smaller ?

can you show it how to set up step by step instead of talking, thank you
I’ll buy your spot on collar from you? Lol
