So glad your back!!! I got offered a deal on my TL I couldn’t pass up and got a charger , but now that your back I’m itching to finally get the Type S I always wished I had 😮💨 your videos inspire me man
Do a compression test I have a 2006 Acura TL manual had the exact same problem on a J32A3 motor did all the coil packs and spark plugs , changed evap purge canister , new gas cap the whole 9 yards finally got frustrated and took it to my mechanic , he did a compression test wet and dry and turns out my Cylinder number 5 had slightly low compression that was making it misfire at idle the engine light stops flashing when I drive or give it gas the piston heats up expands and sits better but at idle it misfires but you cant really even feel it in my car the motor still feels fine the Mechanic told me to just drive it till it dies and then replace the motor the compression loss I have is enough to trigger the sensor but you cant really feel any misfire , Low compression on a Cylinder might be the culprit here
I thought I was the only one that got this problem! I just fixed mine for code p0497 and p0171, it ended up being purge valve solenoids, a pvc valve , changing the egr and two of my injectors where no good. I just ended up swapping all of the injectors with new seals and fuel rail. Hopefully yours isn’t this extensive as my fix was🙏🏼 best of luck
I have the p304 code on my type S. I pulled the spark plug from Cylinder 4 there was oil on the tip of the spark plug & none on the threads . I then swapped the coil pack and installed a new spark plug after running the car I had the same issue with the new spark plug and coil. Mechanic said it could possibly be the piston rings. Im trying to figure this out before I go ahead and slap a "new" used engine.
I had that problem months ago only thing i had to do switch coil packs and spark plugs , How ever now i have a issue i need help with which is * Rich To Fuel * for my 08 tl and i been looking for videos i dont find nun
I have a vacuum gauge that I use and hook it up on the line that goes into the manifold from the purge solenoid and my vacuum is at 23”hg so if you don’t have a vac leak then that will help diagnose the misfire because you do have a lean code p0171 and on mine I don’t have any misfire but the p0171 comes on every once in a while but when I check my short term fuel trims at idle it’s at 20% and when I spray brake cleaner on the EGR it goes rich and back down to 0 so I’m guessing my EGR is getting stuck open because the light only comes on when the car sits idle for 10 mins or so. You could spray soapy water around areas to see if there’s a change in idle sound.
Also similar issue but different outcome. Cylinders misfire bank 1 and 3, regardless out of the 6 you’ll probably if you experience upon stopping and accelerating this shaking feel inside the car then I’d recommend changing all Coils and plugs with Denso Ignition Coils and NGK Iridium Spark Plugs. Hope all is well with you, friends and family
Misfires can be spark plugs, coils, fuel injectors, bad cylinder compression, cats, or engine may need to be replaced if all priors have been replaced.
Had a similar issue and replaced all the coil packs, plugs, injectors, Pcv value. Checked timing and value lash cleaned butterfly value and EGR, Still nothing. Let me remind you this was all over time not all at once. Still had to use the vehicle daily. I concluded a bad piston ring in cylinder 2 . I just ended up getting a complete j35A8 motor off of eBay. I hope your situation is simpler. Keep up the videos waffle gang.
Having a similar issue myself. Changed the purge valve, pcv, all the plugs, and evap canister. Just ordered the egr and map sensor. If that doesn't work, I'll be changing all the hoses. Never had this much trouble with one issue before.
Had the same issue with mine I had to change lots of things it turned out to be a blown head gasket with coolant going into the piston causing the white smoke, changed water pump coils sparks and more currently piecing it back together hopefully it will run good again
I had a coil shoot out of my accord v6 06 and had a bunch of oil dump into my bank 1 cat and it slowly started to misfire in cylinders 1,3,5 and random misfires, the exhaust note sounds different my car was super super shaky when you are sitting inside it and it’s ain’t drivable at the moment
“Bet your 2017 don’t have that”😂😂 couldn’t agree more !
man i laughed so hard when he said that

Make sure he is running premium fuel. I had a check engine for bank 1 or 2 for being too lean because i put plus in instead of supreme.
yeah i am got me spending a whole $1.25 a gallon more to run it better

Leave my red glow alone it was free and I had to try it 😂
Just sold my TL for a C6 Vette but can’t stop watching your videos😂
I had the same problems about a couple of weeks ago and all I did was change all the spark plugs and coils and it was running like brand new again

Same

I'm only now watching this tonight. I am guessing that its your ignition coil issue.
All codes lead to changing Purge valve, and I would change your fuel pump relay if it is the Mitsu and not the Denso as starting point in expense.
Damn I need to watch the whole video next time 😂 before commenting
Unrelated to the video but I just got my 2008 TL last week, and I was wondering where you would recommend buying a front splitter/lip from ??
Artwork body shop ‼️‼️
@@TheLifeStyle6 Okay good looks ! I appreciate the response
Misfires are so annoying , it could be the coils and or it could be fuel injectors cause I've had this happen to my TL
Check coils one by one or the egr could be another issue
Needs valve adjustment
I've heard that too
