A neat thing about Black Swan is she lets you play into Hellfire Club and Crimson Cosmos, so kind of location control. Supergiant could have defensive uses, keeping big stuff like Darkhawk face down and safe from Shang, etc. She's probably too expensive for that though. I'm very curious how Mockingbird will work with Mysterio. Will it count 2 of them? All of them? None of them? I could kinda see it going any of those ways.
Some folks are speculating that warmachine can let you play cards like giganto anywhere, because the wording does say "*nothing* can stop you from playing your cards anywhere". Curious if thats gonna be the case when the season comes over
I'm pretty sure the cards will still be limited by their own text, because if we take it literally "nothing can stop you" includes not having enough energy to play the card.
Thinks I didn't think about until this video: -Proxima Midnight's ability being templated such that she will auto jump to things like Sanctum Santorum and Death's domain seems really good. -Mockingbird is auto tech vs clutter effects. Every rock, goblin, and negative power junk Annihilus send over your way reduces her cost, and she is big enough to help you contest those small power lanes clutter decks try to lock you out of. - Pixie in a Kazar style deck where most of your deck is small 1 cost things and higher cost synergy pieces is likely to be very good. She is an above rate stat card for those decks, and Black Swan will likely make your cost swapped 1 drops cost 0 instead of their inflated cost, while your kazars, caieras, blue marvels, and hit monkeys get to keep their swapped in 1 costs.
Damn, a curve like Hood on 1, Swan on 2, Nico/Demon/Forge/Iceman/whatever into Hit-Monkey on 3, then Beast the Hit-Monkey back with a couple 1 drops seems pretty promising!
I can see a Moon Girl into Black Swan into double She Hulks, and a combo of demons, mrytar, titania on turn 6. This sounds like a Jeff Hoogland deck if I ever heard one. I am excited for the insane high rolls of Pixie. I can see her having low win rates but high cube equity. Also, Twitter and Reddit will have a field day complaining about how busted a 0 cost Hulk is.
Mockingbird synergies well with basically the whole Patriot package. Mr. Sinister and Brood clones, Debrii rocks, etc makes me think I want to try her as a secondary payoff in that archetype that goes tall rather than wide.
I was thinking about a janky Thanos Destroy, Stones counts toward Mockingbird, and plus maybe Shanna/squirrels - would be possible to play her on 5 with KM and get death procs going into 6
I think Hope could be changed into “After you play a card and you opponent does not, gain +2 energy next turn” - that way there’s counter play with cost
Hit Monkey/Black Swan bounce definitely feels like an idea. She's the one card in February I'm really looking forward to but the others sound interesting. March though? HOLY SHIT! Supergiant does feel like she may finally be some counterplay to Dracula. Not that he was exactly breaking the meta anymore.
the march cards definitely look bananas. feels like they could be internally exploring crazy design ideas and power ceilings before tuning them for the live environment
From what can be seen from the datamine we can expect (the order of seasons may vary): April - Thunderbolts - Baron Zemo,Red Hulk,Red Guardian,US Agent,Valentina,White Widow. May - Exiles - Blink,Namora,Nocturne,Sage,Sasquatch. June - Deadpool - Ajax,Bullseye,Copycat,Gwenpool,Hydra Bob. July - Eternals - Arishem,Gilgamesh,Makkari,Phastos,Sersi,Thena. August - Young Avengers - Hulkling,Kate Bishop,Marvel Boy,Speed,Wiccan.
Beast, hit monkey and wolf are 3 of my favourite cards so I'm unimaginably hyped for black Swan. Mockingbird also probably works with Thanos. As if that deck needed any more good cards.
Warmachine could also be interesting anti-Alioth tech. Normally it wouldn't matter if you played Doctor Doom into, say, Sanctum Sanctorum but it does guarantee that your opponent can't Alioth your Doom.
Notice that some new cards, including 2 season pass cards, such as Skaar, Black Swan, Pixie and Mockingbird are all countered by Mobius. As Jeff says, he is a meta staple now but he seems to be becoming even more significant.
mockingbird's interesting because it toes the line of "how many units do we need on board to improve our other one card" so like. i can see bucky barnes and dr doom helping her. brood, multiple man, thanos stones, ultron :hoogltron:
Supergiant sounds like a consistent way to set up a gross Alioth, as it is already a hard counter to Invisible Woman. Hope is also incredibly strong if you take into account 0 drops giving +2 energy on turn 4 right away. I am alrady looking forward for the changes.
I thought cull obsidian was originally data mined as a 4 10 that can only be played in a lane with an infinity stone. Good they changed that, imagine pulling it randomly when you don't have thanos
It was, they datamined the new version in the most recent patch. I'm also glad it's not going to ship with the Infinity Stone requirement. Even with the Spotlight system making it easier to target certain cards, that design was way too parasitic for my tastes.
God the black order looks so good if you ignore ebony maw. Wonder why cull obsidian doesn't have the Jeff text to be able to ignore ebony maws restriction to make the order fully just work together.

its probably the worst way to use her, but i like supergiant purely because it gives me another way to play attuma. not sure why i enjoy the card as much as i do, but hes really fun. In terms of corvus, i dont see how this card will be good in any situation, discard doesnt need the ramp and has key cards it will hit alot, and any other ramp deck can rarely risk losing their big plays, just seems like a card that'll be almost pointless. I would of liked it to have the blade effect, but both sides, discard your leftmost and rightmost card.
Okay I think I might be done. I've paid the $10/month and bought occasional cheap packages for 1.5 years now. It's getting too expensive to keep pace. This happened with Hearthstone & Clash Royale a few years ago. Sad, but it was a fun couple years and I made infinite here and there.

If you randomly pick blob 1 in 4 in the full lane he is typically played into - sure. Why leave it to RNG when Shang will always work though?
