Oh my god finally found this game after 3 years of searching. I really loved this game and the most difficult level was when 3 enemies surround us in the ring during night when no people were there. I charge my signature and all 3 of them just run away from me. Damn good old days.

This game and Fight for ny was the shit back then man I remember tearing this game up, but the reversal system in this game was too random man, but I got tips on this reversal system I mean hey half of the time it may work just probably have to time the reversal and blocks in this game but cool video dude.

DAMN this is nostalgia! Me and my buddies as kids played this at home. But it was so hard doing the story mode that we ended up just playing vs each other. We ended up going out on a grass field and do the same moves on each other. I'm suprised no one got seriously hurt haha.

Def Jam recordings on twitter teased the possibility of a new def jam game, back in August of 2018, here’s hoping it happens, EA back then was amazing, but today they have become greedy and lazy with making amazing games so I can’t help but doubt they will put the same love and effort as they did all those years ago.
I want AKI Corp to solely create the game instead of EA. In my opinion, EA's current games are not that memorable anymore compare to the last two games. I mean, look at Def Jam Icon. They are focusing on making money over quality. But, I am being wishful thinking here thinking that AKI Corp will come back continuing the franchise with Def Jam.
Mr. Noob I never played Icon, only Vendetta and Fight For New York, Icon was good but not as good as Vendetta and FFNY from what I heard, Aki renamed in 2007 as Syn Sophia and are now doing Arcade based games, seems they are a Japanese Company to, they moved far away from fighting games after Icon, but yeah, I would prefer if they did the game, EA has ruined franchises because of there greed lately, a true sequel to FFNY continuing right after it would be a great thing.
Mr. Noob I was really young when I played Vendetta, Basically 7 years old, I didn’t even know there was a sequel until 7 years ago, got ffny for gamecube and played it on my wii when I was 13, being 20 now, these games have aged so well with the current games of today, I wish they were backwards compatible on XBOX One, I would buy these two in a heartbeat, hip hop and wrestling/streetfighting/Martial Arts have never mixed so well until these games happened, Def Jam was so unique in what it did, definitely better than those WWE 2K games these days.
This game is a little difficult than the DJFfNY especially the counters and reversals even on medium difficulty. Why don't you try it :) I have to play this story mode again because of missing cutscene.

If you know how to play No Mercy.. You would understand the reversal system better. Anywho. Holding L trigger makes you walk backwards slow which also break grapples on contact. tapping L trigger during a high risk move can cause a reversal. Heavy grapple moves on a energetic opponent rarely works and that leads to reversals.. pressing Block and forward at the same time is a counter from punches and kicks.
Steel is a good fighter. He can KO opponent faster and his defense is really great. The only downfall is his health goes out fast when he took damages.
Nice touch hearing Method Man - Bring The Pain as soon as Manny and the guard open the door, knowing you're about to enter into some real serious shit. "is it real son, tell me if its real son, is it really real"

The venues didnt have the crowd helping out on vendetta , More like a fair wrestling match & you can Pin Your Opponent But On The Other Hand Def Jam FFNY Had Character Creation , That's what made Both Fight for Ny & Vendetta Different but Unique
The reversal system work like if a opponent is grabbing you must be pushing buttons rapidly to break out but if you get in the danger zone or low im health it would be more tougher to reverse grabs or if you getting pinned with low health while pushing buttons it will go very slow so its all basically the conditions you are in with health so in Def Jam you really have to take off with a lead or you fucked

Yo bro I'm not even gonna lie I been playing this game since it first came out and I'm not even gonna flex I didn't understand it at first either but the way I pull the reversals off was timing the system in this game is really off and that the hard part about trying to time the reversals the right way. The best tip I can give you is knowing when the opponent is gonna do there move and when they pull it off is pressing the reverse button (these are the GameCube controls btw R-punches/kicks and L-grapple moves) before they pull the move off tap whichever button that corresponds to that move and 9/10 you will reverse it now keep in mind the better your health bar is the greater chance you have pulling it off so try your best to not have your health bar below or equal to halfway cause that's when the what I like to call 50/50s come in. Hope this helps for anyone that still plays this game💯
I played this game all the time when i was like 5-6 i had no clue about the storyline or anything but this game was so kickass to me, first time ive seen it since then.
If you stayed with one girl till the very end, you'll get 75% photos for that girl without spending money to buy them. That's what I was aiming for in this playthrough.
So many memories playing this game Joe Budden was my favorite character, I wish I can play this again but my ps2 is messed up I'll get a new one someday.
Are you able to play story mode again with any of the same characters after you beat it with every character, or no? I'd like to upgrade all the characters to max.
AgentMorgan2010 No bro. Once you finished the story mode with each characters, you cannot upgrade them anymore. All you can do is collect a lot of money by fighting in exhibition matches (e.g. One-on-One, FFA, Survival, Handicap etc) BEFORE you fight D-mob to maximize your stats using your profile. Then, upgrade it in the story mode. Or just use cheats man to save you a lot of time :)

Yep, Vendetta ain't a street fight but still, this wrestling game is purely undiscipline because of how ruthless all movesets are.

I didn’t know if you boost you character stats almost fully they have a second move set. I did it with tank I was winning fights less than 2 mins

I played this game all the time when i was like 5-6 i had no clue about the storyline or anything but this game was so kickass to me, first time ive seen it since then.

If you stayed with one girl till the very end, you'll get 75% photos for that girl without spending money to buy them. That's what I was aiming for in this playthrough.

Are you able to play story mode again with any of the same characters after you beat it with every character, or no? I'd like to upgrade all the characters to max.
AgentMorgan2010 No bro. Once you finished the story mode with each characters, you cannot upgrade them anymore. All you can do is collect a lot of money by fighting in exhibition matches (e.g. One-on-One, FFA, Survival, Handicap etc) BEFORE you fight D-mob to maximize your stats using your profile. Then, upgrade it in the story mode. Or just use cheats man to save you a lot of time :)
