    Madam all types of millets have to be soaked in water for a minimum of six to eight hours before cooking. It is very important to do that. Please refer to Dr . Khader Vali ' s videos. He is called the millet man of India.

      But as a 65 yrs old woman have known that we never soaked the millets for 6 to 8 hrs . But normally, the cooked millet was used to eat after minimum of 8 to 10 hours , normally the kambu, cholam, cooked after soaking and pounding in stone grinder . But after cooking today normally eaten next day. Kudhiraivalli is cooked and eaten like regular rice. Also we use to have this rice with paruppu, rasam and poriyal., Even with curd and some vegetables like kaththrikaai, vendaikaai, keerai , etc
