  • After introducing the "famous" smoking data set, Michael Greenacre gives a one-minute explanation of the basic geometry of correspondence analysis. This very short course formed a 5% part of his 20-minute keynote address "Dynamic Perceptual Mapping" at the 2009 conference of the Australian Market and Social Research Society in Sydney.

    Thank you very much, Dr Greenacre. To me, correspondence analysis is probably is the most powerful and descriptive technique because you can use whatever type of data and it allows the simultaneous projection of both variables and cases onto the same mapping without resorting to rotation, eigenvalue cutting-off and that stuff...

    You're quite right about the low sound, I only realized this some time after I uploaded the video (it sounded OK before...).

    This is a really useful video; but the sound is quite low. I had to find headphones to overcome the ambient noise in my home.
    Perhaps some useful constructive feedback for future should you decide to keep up the good work. :)
