I’ve been following Set Up For Impact for a while but have never quite felt comfortable with the setup. Today watching your video it just clicked! Can’t wait to get on the course and try it. Really enjoy watching your channel. Thank you!
Thanks Tony. This may be the most useful golf instructional video that I've ever seen. Now do one on the importance of turning your body and how that creates lag - resulting in effortless power. Keep up the good work.
I'm 44 just getting back in the game after 18-20 years away from it. I keep telling myself to just play like an old man. I watch those old men swing so smoothly and so effortlessly, and hit it straight and true.. they're not worried about winning long drive competitions. This channel is exactly what I need.
Glad you enjoy it...and you have a loooong way to go to me an old man...but you can play like one now! LOL...distance is nice if you have it without straining for it, , but I say it's a bit overrated!
I just found your site and to me the SETUP 4 IMPACT Golf Swing may be what I need to get headed in the correct direction. All this time I have been setting up with the club in my right hand .... that alone should get me going in the right direction ...
I have a problem hitting the ball left of my target and I think my shoulders are not lining up correctly. I will definitely use this technique next time out and see if it helps. Thanks for the good instructions you give. I always look forward to watching your videos.
Update: I went to the range yesterday afternoon and worked on this setup technique of keeping my right shoulder back and down. It really helped me with hitting the ball straight at my target. That was the best I have ever struck the ball! I was crushing my driver so much straighter and longer. I also hit my irons so much better, but had to make sure to swing a little more downward with them. Can't wait to tee it up next week and see what happens. Thanks Tony!

Hey Tony, great video. I have been using single plane since I have been watching you. I have found my ball striking has gotten much better. The one thing I need to ask you is I have a long swing and I find it hard sometimes when using the shorter clubs. Is there any advice you can give me thanks 👍
Hi Donald, what i can tell you is that on the shorter clubs we should never try to hit them to get 100% al we can get distance. Try to feel as though you are taking a 3/4 backswing with a normal effort downswing. The distance will probably be the same, but the mishits will happen a lot less often. Play under control, if you need to swing hard, use a different club!
I played using this method and was driving the ball well with a very noticeable draw ending up on the left side of the fairway although with my irons I was hitting heavy draws 20-30 yards of target (could be considered a hook) and I am thinking it was the shoulder; we’re going to check that shoulder today.
Hi Tom, this driver does not have any fade/draw/neutral settings....it is a 10.5 degree set at 9 to keep the face from looking closes (when you lower the loft the face does open a bit, but I'd say this one is square). My bad miss is a pull/hook and I don't like to see the face looking left at all.
Hi John, I have all different kinds and flexes. The driver and 3 driving iron are graphite stiff flex..Ping alta. The 3 and 5 wood are reg flex graphite evenflow riptide. The SW and Gao wedge are both stiff flex steel, apollo stepless steel and the iron set (5-AW are graphite reg flex 60 gram hzrdus silver. Basically, it I hit it well, whatever it is, I don't really worry about it.
Not sure I understand ‘swing in line with the stick’? Having trouble visualizing the path of my hands and club head? It looks like the club head/shaft comes inside on the back swing? High handicapper here. And wow 186 with 6 iron..I can only hit my driver that far sometimes.

Love your channel. You remind me of my uncle in North Carolina - full of wisdom and a silent assassin on the golf course. Keep it up!

Yes, give it a try...I'm sure you will be glad you did!
Thanks Tony. Very helpful on setup.
Glad it helped, Jimmy!
Good stuff! He breaks it down to some pretty simple fundamentals. Tony doesn’t complicate the swing. I would love to go to one of his one day school.😊

A video just for me? You should have put my name on it 🤣. Worked on this very thing this am on the range, after doing my drills practice. 👍👍
Just for you Mick....and it helps a lot of other people too! I had this video already loaded before you came for your lesson, believe it or not!

Could be a bit of early release with the hands too which causes the clubface to begin closing.
Tony, is your driver set to neutral or closed 1 or 2 degrees? Thank you for the videos you do for us.

I should have said swing with your shoulders in line with the stick. Or at least it feels that way.
