We moved from New Port Richey to Northern Kentucky. I lived in Gulf Harbors then along the “Cotee” river. I can’t believe all the new areas being built. I loved seeing if I could recognize any old landmarks.
I have lived in Moon Lake for all 34 years of my life! Just got a hankering to search the area on youtube and found your videos! Keep up the great work my dude!
My wife & I moved from Upstate NY to New Port Richey around 20 years ago, & we INSTANTLY felt "at home" here. Since then, it has only gotten better - the chamber of commerce, along with several private investors have dumped MILLIONS of dollars into renovation Down Town & it really shows! From fresh, new store fronts & businesses to a complete make over of Simms Park, the downtown area is thriving & such a great place to wander about & relax, all just around the corner from us!
Looking to move there from the same area, assuming you mean WWSHE upstate and not just "not NYC', chances are you'll see my van in a few months along with me. We can "chat" about how bad Hochul screwed us.
Great video, Sam. As we are approaching the time to buy the house, I look at the eastern part of NPR more. To your points, larger lots, more suburban feel (+ for me), less sketchy than the neighborhoods next to US-19.
My family moved to New Port Richey in 1967 I went to Elfer elementary which I think was changed to Mittye P Locke. Then to Gulf middle and Gulf high school which I actually was in the same building for 6 years. Our house was off of Illinois avenue near the Middle School. When both of my parents died around 2004 then moved out of the area.
Good video! In 2022 we moved from Tampa Palms after being there for 8 years to Tulsa, OK to participate in their Tulsa Remote program (I’m about an hour from where you grew up). Oklahoma is okay, but we’re moving back to Tampa. I like how you’re covering all the new stuff popping up like The Krate and Angeline in Pasco. Keep up the good work!!
@@LivinginTampa I spent some time up in that area when I first moved here. I’m in Broken Arrow now which is very similar to Brandon as far as the vibe is concerned. We’ll probably move back to either Wesley Chapel or Riverview, still on the fence about that. We’re remote workers, our kids are grown & we don’t care about going to the beaches.
Thanks for sharing this video. This sounds exactly like what my family and I are looking for. We are coming from phx and would love to live in a house with some land. Do you find it to be pretty diverse? Family friendly? 😀
Honestly we love our house so much that we don't leave much. I'm not sure on diversity-Florida is pretty white overall north of Miami. It is definitely family-friendly!
You moved right by my parents 😂. They’ve been there for 10 years and love it. Yea, it was a big change for them (from NJ) but it’s a rapidly developing area for the better. I still think it’s a hidden gem.
Hi, as a defense contractor for MacDill AFB who will retire after the 8 year contract ends, could you tell me where to move if I want to get a 3 bedroom for 250k. I don't care about living in the suburbs....distant exurbs are fine. I am already commute hardened from living in a DC exurb. Other family had a house built in Ocala for 250k but that is just too road warrior for me. I don't care about socializing, things to do, or HOA(s) at all. I do want to move to a safe area though. Is this possible? FWIW I am not 50 yet but want to move from up here with 250k and try to pay whatever I buy off down there. Thanks
With the way they are building houses, the population density, in Pasco, will soon be just like Pinellas. I live in Trinity and every year, the schools have more students than ever. There's not even enough room for students to sit during lunch. At the beginning of last school year, there wasn't even enough seating in 2 of my son's classes. Students had stand the whole period. With that said, I do have to admit, he has received a great education. I just wish I could keep my hometown as a hidden little gem.
I grew up in N.P.R moved 25yrs ago out of state went back to October 2023 very disappointing U.S 19 is has homeless camps from Holiday to Hudson. I drove thru the county while getting gas on 19 and Ridge 2 different people asked me if I need any T I had no idea what T was so I asked Google that's when I figured out what was going on with Pasco country. Does the Pasco County Sheriff's Department do they do anything in this County anymore are they still just as corrupt and crooked as they always have them I'm guessing every deputies undertake
hey so i have lived here my whole life and i love it here so very much and fun fact my family was one of the first settlers here in NPR and it’s really just and awesome place so if you ever get to here the last name mallett floating around say hello
Moved to NPR after considering Pinellas County. Drove through downtown NPR and told myself that it is the place I want to live. Haven't regretted it (except for finding myself living in DeSantistan).
You do not have to use 19. Rowan/77/611 can take you to Tarpon, honey moon beach, safety harbor & down to Tampa. You didn’t even talk about the nice community vibe in downtown/ Sims park, sad. I agree with the construction, it would be nice if people who are afraid of conservatives would actually just go somewhere else, lol. My daughter teaches at the elementary school you live right next to & would agree with the school situation. She & her young family just moved up to Spring Hill for all the reasons you moved. Only downside is the distance to beaches. I’ve only been down snowbirding in NPR for two years, but I think Tarpon would be my top choice, more land isn’t everything (especially when it’s filled with bugs and the summer heat can kill you😅. The pool is nice though.
I live in dunedin rn and i completely agree with everything you said about US 19 it can be a bit harry-carry around here. Looked at New Port Richey before i moved here, got a lot of negative feedback from the lgbt community about it which is why i moved to pinellas
Just drive around in some of the lower income areas...let's speak truth and not paint New Port Richey as some treasure...Soon it will be much more dense than other counties...BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR..

Army vet moving from Los Angeles to NPR bringing smoked meat and café. See you guys soon!

Can you give me a good realtor contact for the NPR, Bayonet Point area?

😂 that is the dangerous part.. for pedestrians! Oh i think I discovered why people are crossing there so much! 😅😅😅 😎
Thanks.

Moving from Detroit to the Tampa area in about a year or so. I can’t wait
Your videos are awesome man. Super helpful.
My parents had a house in Port richey for 20 yrs...never had a problem.😊
I live at Hudson Beach. I'm a newbie to the neighborhood, the worst thing bugs and hurricanes 🌀🙏🩷🇺🇲

I spent a lot of time in Tulsa as a kid. My grandma lived around 31st and Harvard.

Both Wesley Chapel and Riverview are excellent choices! Let me know if you guys have any questions:)

Could you give me some information about the Aristida section of new port Richey? good, bad, desirable or not?

I live in River Ridge too. If I see you in the Publix, I'll say Hi! 😆
I am paying for a car rn. Once it's paid down or I am making more money I intend to buy a house around here.

It is when its 6 ft under water every hurricane.
US 19 isn't just in New Port Richey so that comment really doesn't apply.
