Yup just discovered your channel. Ive watched a lot of reviews, some from the youtube watch greats but somehow your reviews tell me exactly the things i want to know about a watch. Keep it up. Enjoyed your sealander GMT review too
I think this is one of the top 5 best looking GMTs out there. Love the bracelet. I own 3 Lorier and it’s very comfortable. Great watches. The price is very fair for a Swiss movement GMT.
Great conclusive review! Best review about the Lorier Hyperion GMT! I also like changing straps often so the lug hole distance is quite far. Despite the cons I think I'd still buy it, however my enthusiasm dropped a little bit as you did bring up some valid points! I wish I could find this watch for $600 on the used market, seems like, for the instance anyway, they are holding their value pretty well!
Thank you very much! It s a great watch no doubt but as with every watch, there are some flaws. Ya I think once some more hit the market the price will drop a little kore but you know classic supply demand type thing.
Good and honest review! My first and only Lorier was and still is the Neptune series IV. I am contemplating a purchase of the soon to be released Hyperion series II. I prefer a bracelet on my watch most of the time. The lug gap issue was addressed on the Neptune IV and Hyperion II. The bracelet taper is the same, which, I do not mind. I am also ok with the mix of lume. Keep the great content coming! I enjoy your channel😊
I have the series 1 and absolutely love it. If you secure a series 2 i am sure you will love it. To be honest mine looks incredible on NATOs and single pass straps. Lorier nailed this design!
Very good review! You touched on all the points, the pros and cons. For me the lume is a big spoiler but given that I like the fit, finish and proportions I may just overlook it.
Despite it’s faults this is possibly the best looking GMT on the market. Hopefully a V2 will come out in a year’s time addressing the issues mentioned.
That you for this public service announcement. Nice looking watch with cool design language but once you get under the hood (movement runs 18 seconds fast per day, rough finishing on hands and dial, crap clasp) plus your other comments means this watch is not for me either! It reminds me of an old saying - - all show and no go! I love that you model different straps like you do. Keep it up.
Great review! I had the Lorier Neptune III where the clasp did the exact same thing. So I do not think it is a fluke, but rather a bit of design flaw. They should fix it. Not a deal breaker, but it does take a firm push to lock the clasp.
Regarding aggressively tapered bracelet, I have the same feeling when I checked the latest Moonwatch. Not only looks a bit dramatic, I also worry the continuation of the bracelet contour if I need to remove too many links for my small wrist.
Well how many guys at the gym have you seen with a huge chest and arms and skinny legs? Too many. Great review, thorough as always. I can’t un-see the crummy hands, but I guess $800 doesn’t get what it used to. I think the blue with the green looks cool, or I guess I would have thought that until you showed how the C3 looked on the bezel. Attention to detail ! That’s why we come here
Haha yes too many guys. I was a little surprised by the hand quality. I believe Lorier’s I looked at in the past were finished better so again my example may have just been one of the worst out there. Ya the c3 bgw9 works in theory but in practice it just looks a little off. Thanks for watching as always Michael! 🙏🏻
Apparently, all Hyperions have the same clasp issue. mine is the same. the way I got around it was shoving a half-millimeter plexiglass underneath the clasp and it's much better now
@@theknightswatch I did send an email to Lorier after I sent this comment asking if they could do anything about it. Lauren replied in a matter of hours and offered to send a new clasp right away. Honestly the costumer service is absolutely perfect!
I am fond of this watch in silver. Wish there were no date and black date wheel versions. I bet it would look wonderful on tan leather! They should make some solid end link strap options like a Daytona.
Why would 48 click bezel for 24 hours be odd when a 60 minute dive watch is 60 or 120 click? The bezel is two different colors for a reason, but I am sure you know that. The two different lumes were done for a reason, the GMT hand is same as bezel lume. I assume you know that too.
Just odd in the sense I don’t think I’ve ever seen that before. And I can appreciate the fact it was don’t for a reason but I don’t really think many are going to be using the gmt for it’s intended function. So instead of letting ideas of functionality ruin aesthetics, make the watch look good first. Just my opinion.
I actually really like the tapered bracelet. The watch is only 39mm. Straight straps make it look small. About the clasp... mine seemed a bit insecure as well at first, but eventually it settled in. Could be partly due to having discovered late some stickers on the arms of the clasp. About the lume... BGW9 is not as strong as C3. Story goes one of their prototypes was all BGW9 and they just couldn't apply enough on the bezel to make it work. They switched to C3 to make it visible. Don't know where you're seeing them for $650 used. They're going for way more than that on eBay. Lorier is out of stock, so the used market rules for these right now.
Fair points. I guess I care a little more about the look rather than the function of the watch. I’ve never once in my life used the lume on my watch or wish my watch had more of it. As for the pricing they’ll come down to there. I bought mine for 650 and sold it for 650 off of Reddit. I usually don’t buy off ebay because everyone has to increase their price to cover the seller fees.
My Netptunes clasp does the same, I was quite disappointed to figure it out. Really not a big deal once you learn how to click it in right but still annoying.
@@theknightswatch Thanks! Traska are indeed nice. Just not a fan of the second crown at 10 o’clock of the Venturer. Thanks again! I enjoy your channel!
Looks good, but a bit rough around the edges, needs sapphire crystal, the bezel insert would look better in aluminium, +18 sec a day can easily be sorted but that clasp is unacceptable. I’m getting interested in this brand. Like the strap changes, liked & subbed.
@@theknightswatch fair enough. I wonder if they did that so the bracelet would have more adjustable links. After all, they’re intended to be unisex and I know for a fact that most men’s watches won’t accommodate a woman’s wrist with oem bracelets...🤷♂️
that watch is beautiful, it's everything you need in a GMT, small and unobtrusive, quick, day or night legibility, for the price, it ticks a lot of boxes.
Agreed it’s definitely a lot of watch all things considered and if you like the design isn’t a no brainer. Just enough small things I don’t like to keep me from keeping it.
They lost me with the acrylic crystal. Unless it’s a super cheap watch like a Vostok, I need sapphire crystal. Nothing worse than giant scratches impeding your ability to see the dial.
Lorier has questionable quality control standards. They really need to get that right as a priority. This video review got some of us to decide not to go ahead with the purchase of this and saved quite a bit there! ruclips.net/video/jRuug3DeCCc/видео.html

Agreed! I look forward to the v2
V2 is out for what it’s worth fellas. Later this year it will be powered by the new 9075 miyota traveler GMT

Thank you for watching, it is unfortunate this watch didn’t quite live up to the hype but it’s nonetheless a cool offering from the brand
I think the vintage look is super cool. If that’s what you’re looking for you can’t go wrong. I’ll go with the CW Sealander, though.
Great review! I had the Lorier Neptune III where the clasp did the exact same thing. So I do not think it is a fluke, but rather a bit of design flaw. They should fix it. Not a deal breaker, but it does take a firm push to lock the clasp.
Unfortunate to hear. I’ve had 3 other Lorier’s before this and none of them had that issue so may be a new thing.
Regarding aggressively tapered bracelet, I have the same feeling when I checked the latest Moonwatch. Not only looks a bit dramatic, I also worry the continuation of the bracelet contour if I need to remove too many links for my small wrist.
True I hate when the taper gets ruined by sizing the watch. Shouldn’t be a problem here because there are so many links but still good point
That Ox blood NATO looked amazing!
Thanks! That nato alone almost made me want to keep the watch haha
Thanks for the review. What's your wrist size?

Thanks and very interesting maybe the bracelet does have a slight qc issue.
So 2 years later and Lorier has addressed all your concerns except the lime colors. My Hyperion Skyward will be here Wednesday
Really great review, spot on with the details - subbed.

That lug gap is a deal breaker. Thanks!
Hyperion II coming out this month. New bracelet, traveler GMT, 2mm thicker (12.6 vs 10.6) reduced lug to lug.
Personally don’t like it aesthetically as much but nice to see them doing something different
@@theknightswatch Any favorites featuring the Myota 9075?

Ya I’m sure a lot of fixes will be made in gen 2 but they are never going to use sapphire so for some it will never be a buy. Appreciate it!
@The Knight’s Watch can you measure the diameter of the bezel? Is it the same as the case or more narrow? Thank you!
The bezel doesn’t stick out. It’s the same size as the case.
Great reviews! It’d be great if you showed how it wears below the wrist in future videos for everyone who does wear it below the wrist:)
Great idea, I’ll start doing that
So you don’t like how it tapers so quickly or the taper overall? Would you prefer it to taper only to 18mm?
Just how it tapers too quickly. Plenty of good 20-16mm tapers out there.

Somebody call this guy a whambulance. Lol Sorry, I couldn't help myself. But your review made me not buy this model. Lol Thanks for your honesty.
The fact this thing doesn't have sapphire for 800$ is stupid
Neither does a hesalite speedmaster for $6000
Neither did the GMT masters for what 30 years?
18 secs a day is terrible
Ya definitely could be better. For me accuracy doesn’t matter too much as long as its not wildly inconsistent like +5 one day and -15 the next
