The greatest of the 70's and 80's garage rock bands, The Chesterfield Kings! I re-did my video of this replacing the audio with a better version of it.
I had favorably reviewed them & boosted them, so got NIGHT OF A THOUSAND EYES sent to me. Saw them at Peppermint & they were just wonderful. I was cremed. I advised a pal to see them in another city, & he said they were dreadful! But he knew, that can happen -- it's so hard on the musicians. Support & respect, a helping hand, this is what they need. It's really a hard life. Greetings from France.
I spent my formative years in a rural area outside of Y-town, OH. Cleveland offered the only true venue for what I liked to hear back then. Of course, Detroit and the surrounding area really had it going on back then (with bands like The Woolies and The Stooges). During the 1970s, I told many others that '60s-era garage rock would be big medicine in the 1980s and beyond. Mostly, people scoffed. Even today, people in my immediate area still don't dig garage/psychedelia. I'm hoping to move soon.
@MissKristi99 I tried to get The CKs and The Tell-Tale Hearts to play in my town. A local promoter told me that people in my locale wouldn't like this kind of music. Hell, most of the denizens around my region of the Midwest didn't like this kind of sound back in the 1960s. I need to get outta NE Ohio -- like real soon!
anybody seen the chesterfeild queens ? they are the girls answer to this band, they cover all the " kings " stuff. they are curently on tour in eastern europe. Playing 7/2/11 in Lenko , 8/2/11 in brozgnov and 10/2/11 in sboznoff. They are great, go see them
THIS is The Chesterfield Kings that I like, not the later stuff
the undisputed KINGS of the garage revivalists!!
Still have this single that I played on WMUH back in the day. A favorite.
80's Garage Punk revival.... sounds like a 60's band!!! Amazing!!!!
Love the keyboard sound and the big SCREAM, "Woaouhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!"
Love that simple yet groovy organ. To the Vox corporation: Bring back the Continental!
Listening to this song it's like it's 1966 again. It feel's like I could go hop on my Yamaha 305 (which I sold in 1970) and rush off to high school!
My favorite paisley underground song.
A great Garage band and a great song! I saw them a few times in the early days, good times!
I wish I could get these guys to play in my town. I asked a local promoter and he declined. Man, what stiffs in NE Ohio. These guys are KING TONE!
I thought NE Ohio was the capital of rock'n'roll.
My fave CK tune.

This along with The Mosquitos 'Darn Well' are the 80s finest examples of Garage Rock! 6 stars!
NOT ‘Garage RAWK’ (?!), ‘80’s Garage PUNK.
hey bud tks so much for sharing
I'm a huge garage fan
saw them live back in the mid 80s great stuff

Yeah it is great stuff. We love it.
Thanks so much for your nice comments. They are a wonderful band.
Rare Lightshow Rickenbacker guitar, circa 1971.

I heard this on LSUGG (Little Stevens Underground Garage,XM 61). Thanks Kid Leo!

Chesterfield Kings Rock! What a great group.... vocal sounds sometimes like Joey Ramone to me.
Not at all.
Yeah, they're good ones.
@cherylharrell1961 It's a wonderful video and the band is great.
Glad you liked it. :)
I used to work in a bar where we played this video.... I am pretty sure it was in color on a blue background
Best song in the album
Little Steven -- this one's for you. Andy Babiuk has a really great music store in Rochester, NY (Andy Babiuk's Fab Gear).
@bigbigsound That was a really groovy answer man, far out...
the original song and the clip and that of: 99th floor. And switched to “She Told Me Lies”
Thanks so much for the info...
@bigbigsound That sounded much better, goes with the groovy captions you seem to love so much....
I love the dancing lady (chick)...
I think she's the forerunner to Boz, Larry, but a darn sight prettier. Happy (Mon)days ☺
grandissimi!!!!

BEST OF SLEGO PSYCHO DANCING....THIS THE BEAT!!!!!!!
I gonna move ta Chesterfield !
Yeah, it's a good one... :)
Cool!
Most Punk Rock Groups Sounded like groups from the 60's. Sounds a bit like the Animals and the Castaways and it's a great Rocking Group.
The Stems woops its Chesterfield
Forti !
So sorry the captions annoyed ya. I was trying to make it like a 60's video.
@brayaya at least sometimes when i match with a woman, but not in general :)
the 60s sound
Shame someone manipulated the video and ruined it. Best part was the go-go dancer but we didn't see enough of her.
I know the guys in this band
The Ramones sound like The Chesterfield Kings
sounds like the Romones
Bit too obvious
Nice!
