I’m not gonna lie, the tip you gave about keeping the v pointed down lane was the perfect cue to keep me inside the ball. Bravo. Got a more consistent ball reaction because I can consistently make that mind body connection.
Same for me, I can get more consistent revolutions now
Sorry, im new to bowling, but what V do you mean sir?
@@goodgacha36idk whats it called in english, but its the V between your pointer and middle finger. And u should aim that at the pins when releasing the ball.
l@@RedGalaxyFishbone
@@goodgacha36 the V is between your middle finger and ring finger, you wanna point those at the middle pin
For a while there I didn't think you was gonna release that ball. And that little warm up was taught to me by our teachers in our instruction class over 50 years ago.😢
Watching most of your videos and this is really helpful with my skills in my AA league. Thank you so much guys. Appreciate it.
Mannn, just what I needed. I went bowling last night to work on my slide and swinging my arm back for power. Went from 12mph to 16mph. Issue is, at that speed, I'm struggling to keep my hand on the inside to properly get rotation on the ball.
Are you using your legs for speed, or are you forcing your arm and muscling the ball?
@@kevinscarborough9982 hard for me to honestly tell. I'm still trying to figure it out. So probably still muscling
@@aang6421 have you ever got yourself on video? If not, then set up your phone on record next time you practice.
@@aang6421 video helps. You can't fix what you can't see.
@Kevin Scarborough very true. I'll need to get a mini tripod set up and put it on the chair behind the lane
IT WORKED THANKS MAN!!
The hardest part of the release is keeping that hand inside during the swing, Keeping the elbow in-against the hip helps me !
Are we supposed to leave our thumb partially inside thumb hole? Seems from here that’s how your doing it
If you didn't want to use the approach, can you legally bowl this way in the PBA?
Yep
Yes. And sanctioned leagues. There us no USBC rule about the number of steps yiu should take.
@Kevin Scarborough Awesome, thanks. I am disabled and bowl in a league, but fairly certain it's not sanctioned. I would never be good enough to bowl professionally, nowhere near it. But, part of me always wondered if it was technically possible if someone with low mobility could.
@@TADMG the past three seasons we had a woman bowl in a wheelchair. All you have to do is fill out a USBC league sanction card. And if course have fun.
@@TADMG I even have two gentlemen on two of my leagues that have prosthetic legs. If you love to bowl, then yiu'll find a way. I hope you do.
What do u guys mean by keeping ur hand on the inside ?
For advanced bowling, it means your hand is slightly inside if you are look from behind and seeing the hand position relative to the centerline of the ball. As you start to release the ball and your hand starts to rotate from inside to slightly outside, it acts as a windup to create positive lift at an angle to generate power. The more your finger are closer to 10 o'clock at the time of lift, the more axis rotation you will have to create a curve to the ball.... not to be confused with rotating around the thumb which creates 'spin' and not turn. Ideally, you want your ball to be 'flipped' (point at which it has fully gripped the lane and turning end over end) when it hits the head pin. It's like a punch... fist hits while accelerating, less power aka... ball is still sliding. Hitting after full extension, power is used up, for the most part aka... ball is rolled out and hits flat.
What should we do with the thumb and the fingers in the ball? How does the ball being drilled affect the fingers in the ball when swinging? Release grip or thumb pressing against the ball with the nail?
Grip pressure should be minimal, think of holding it like a baby bird. Not too easy not too hard. Just right. Pitches affect comfort, stretching or reducing your span can affect ball roll. Thumbnail should push into the slug with tape tight enough to almost push the ball off your hand
The thumb slides out first before the 2 fingers once the thumb comes out turn the doorknob, and give that ball some spin... but the sooner you get it on the boards the better.. dont want to get into the habbit of dropping the ball or tossing it.. you essentially want to see it Glide
You should really have a link to the full video
I use a lot more wrist for my throw, and i only use two fingers for the bowling ball
I really have to say that bowling is a good sport and 2 years ago I played bowling for the first time got samuel’s birthday
I’m gonna try
When you do the backswing do you squeeze in your ring and middlefingers, or is it complete loose? I think i get tendon irritation because squeeze little to much
How do you make your wrist not keep rotating if you didn't bring a wristband or a wrist supporter
I did that last Saturday and I got a 178
Great video!!
How can I keep on throwing What up true twisting my arm to the left too? Much I continue doing it doing it. Even when I'm throwing it in my Bowling league.
Good stuff here.
Started doing this and the first game there was a noticeable difference.
How do yu do this if yu bowl with two fingers
Ring finger or middle finger leave the ball first?
How tight should the thumb hole be?
I can't use my whole thumb. I cock my wrist to the left and barely rim the thumb hole with the tip of my thumb... For lack of a better way of putting it. I just can't cup the ball when using my thumb, either forearm strength is low or my wrist is weak. Been bowling for 17 years, I'm currently 34, and my league average is 207. I haven't had a 300 yet. /: Or an 800. My bests are 288 game and 774 three game series.
Those are some impressive numbers, good luck on your hunt for that 3
So you're still giving a little flick of the wrist but you're not going around the ball
I need to work on this
It’s cup and uncup at release. You will always get around it a little bit, zero rotation makes it go end over end and will never hook toward the pocket.
No Diddy...I just realized I had the wrong 2 fingers in the ball...
I just watched a video on "how to release a bowling bowl"
What weight do you use?
You guys always say 'up the back' but at the release your hand always releases at the side.
The 14lb ball I was fitted with at the shop is too heavy and I cannot get my hand below it to support the ball causing me to drop the ball straight down next to my right foot even before I can release it the proper way.
Start with a lighter ball. I went from a 10 to a 13 bc my proshop operator wouldnt sell me anything lighter. It forced me to step up to the plate. Within 3 months i was moving myself up to a 14. The next ball i buy will likely be a 15.
So what to do is the walk up but don't just go as fast as you can u gotta focus
Brilliant 😮😮😮😮
That actaully worked
Hand on the inside? What's does it mean actually..
On the side of the ball nearest your body.
I do this and ball rolls end over end like a tire would roll and goes straight
How do we do that with 2 finger bowler
Been bowling for 20 years and still can’t get the feel for this unless I bowl 2 handed lol. The thumb just messes it all up for me.
Good
I never held on the inside (always 3 quarter drill & to the outside). I won Bowler of the Year & was 11th in the State of Florida Division 3 by age 15 in just 2 years of bowling.
My avg went from 115 to 157 to 171 in 3 years. I had to quit since everything was stolen from me. I would play 3 games a year for a few & averaged 204 in those practice games. I havent bowled in 13 years & Im 100000% sure I could roll a 200 tomorrow.
Everyone is different. I also never had a spare ball. I learned to flatten my wrist to stop the hook & that let me take out the 7 pins (Im a lefty)
My changing that same wrist angle I could control the hook even more I pick up splits. Add speed. Reduce hook etc. It was all hitting marks & feel.
Do what works for you. There is no correct way.
You’re left handed you probably play the same line every lefty plays and no matter what the pattern you still play there so not really hard to shoot 200
I mean yes to an extent. There are things that are better in some situations vs others. But yeah! It sounds like you're killin it man, good job! :)
The way your holding that ball it didn’t seem like it was 15 lb. Was it
Can we acknowledge he puts 7 pins down looking at the camera?
Is this 30strikes
he says up the back but he still twist the wrist to the right on release. I have never understood this explanation.
Same here.
It's cuz it's pretty hard to get it perfectly behind it when you let go. If you do that, the ball won't curve at all.
@@UhKimboze
That’s true. I can throw my hook ball straight by coming straight up the back. When you look at their release you see that they actually roll the ball at about a 45 degree angle, however they don’t start at that spot. They start inside or behind the ball. I think that’s why they say “stay behind the ball.”
Why ther text across the screen?
How
Finishing Drill
I'm having trouble keeping my wrist straight
lower the weight, start very light to get the mechanics correct first, then gradually go up in weight and figure out what weight u can keep ur wrist straight with
@@ThadsGamertag my ball is only 11 if I go lower it does not work for me but I started using my wrist brace and it helps now I have to work on keeping my shoulder straight
You got my friend a strike right after this
My wife sent me this video at 1am?
Why did she send me this video. ???
😅😅 i don't even bowl
i got ptsd from no step drills
Just freezle with it
I'm a 225 average League average
This work i almost got a strike i got 1 left
Be the ball Tampa pro skatergirl 🎉
❤❤❤
Relaxed and inside the ball don't go together for everybody's body tbh
Green screen
One handers 😂
That is awesome. How are you going to boggle loose loose loose, loose loose loose❤😅😢😅😢😂😢😂🎉🎉uo😊😢
I’m sure using a 4th finger has no advantage
Um
You know you don't have to be up the back of the ball to be a great bowler. This is just overemphasized too much, look at Stu Williams and look at Chris Barnes they get around the ball. And they will tell you that also.
God loves you🙏🏻❤️
God is fake
That looks like a ridiculous asym...

i love Poop
just remember guys: two in the pink and one in the stink
I’ve been bowling since 2004 and this is a myth. I average over 200 coming around the ball. They used to say pro’s go up the back and amateurs come around the ball. It’s a bunch of BS
I tend to agree with that, I've always come around and I'm sure that is a result of using plastic house balls for years and having my palm at damn near 9 o'clock on the release just to hit the pocket flush. I had to really adjust once I got an actual ball that reacts, but even then, I'm still coming around, though not as much.
Uhh is your leg broken??😮
