When I watch Decluttering videos, I jump up and start dumping and organizing. When I watch your videos, I jump up and start Planning, Printing and getting excited to Prep for my Preschoolers.
Thanks for taking us through your classroom in action. I love the idea of the " ALL ABOUT ME THEME" , the circle time song and the 5 lettle monkeys. Thanks so much💝💖🙏
We did Back to School/All About Me Theme a month ago as our school started back in August. My students our very own friendship chain and we added it to our window. Also, I use the house template to make family portraits of my students and families. I like to hang my family photos in the Dramatic Play Area so that the children can have a sense of home we playing in that area. Our classroom theme this week is All Things Fall. You have a great week!!
The dramatic play area is a great place to hang family photos! I wish we had more wall space. We hung them there one year but not all of the photos could be at the children’s level. It sounds like you will have a fun fall theme! I can’t wait to start fall!
I agree that you are amazing and we love to see your videos, your descriptions and your coaching to new and seasoned teachers. THANK YOU! (I love those green rugs. Any suggestions on where to find them? tks)
If only I had so few children. I am a head start teacher. Stufents older of course but we have 20 and its not so idyllic. Our room is much smaller and we have no outdoor equipment (just a tiny lawn which we cant always use due to issues in neighborhood). Also they are with us for 6+ hours, 2 meals and a snack. Makes me sad
My class size cannot be over 10 because we have 2 year olds (per licensing) but our classes with 3 years and up can be closer to your size. Thankfully our director works hard to keep those numbers closer to 16. We do offer a separate after-school program for 3 years and up and they can stay until 2:30. But I know so many teachers have long days with big classes and I feel for all of you. ❤️
Hello Pamela I am a former Headstart Teacher and I also had 20 students with an aide to assist me. The building that we use to house our Headstart Program was an old school building in a not so safe neighborhood but each classroom was large enough to set-up all the centers that was required by headstart. Also, we had an outdoor and a semi-indoor playground area for the student to play if the weather was not permitted to go outside. I worked from 7:30-3:30 each day and my aide worked from 9:30-5:30 which is only 8 hours per day. Headstart is a federally funded program so student are required two meals breakfast, lunch and a snack to be eaten in a family style setting. My aide and I really didn't get a lunch. She only got two 15 minutes breaks that was split up one in the morning and the other in the evening. I got a 30 minute conference which was really not a break because that was the only time I had to plan as a result I end up quitting. What really saddened me is that some people that runs these daycare based Headstart centered thinks that they are above the law and feels that they can use Headstart federal funds anyway they choose to do so!
I don't share them because they have my students' family photos on them (privacy). Each child has a mat that has their family photo and their name on it, copied on heavy paper and laminated. Nothing fancy. They love seeing their family photos while eating!

You make me smile, Susan! (And I need to go watch some decluttering videos so I can tackle my neglected house!) Thank you for your support. ❤️
Me too!!! @susanwilliams2807

I almost forgot that little tune “ take a friends hand”. I’ll have to start using that one again.
I thought I made it up! 🤣 I must have heard it somewhere and didn’t realize it.

How many kids are there in the classroom?
10 in the two’s class; 15 in the three’s class. 🙂
Can I see your placemats?
