Thank you, I really appreciate your kind words. Comments like yours definitely help to motivate me to put in all the hours to edit these video together.
Every year on my birthday when I cycle from Toronto to the Peace Bridge in Fort Erie, I always love the view overlooking Buffalo, New York, USA, especially when I arrive there on a sunny evening. And also this past year on my way to Fort Erie, I crossed the Welland Canal through the bridge at Allenburg.
Thank you, I really appreciate it. I do my best to keep the commentary interesting and informative. The editing is a labour of love, but it really means a lot knowing that others are enjoying watching.
Good going. I'm planning an Ottawa/Toronto ride later this year but I'm a wimp and will stay in motels/hotels. Looks like you're having a great adventure exploring Ontario.
This past weekend I actually rode from Toronto down to Rock Point Provincial Park and back, and I got to explore downtown Dunnville as well, and also went past Byng Island Conservation area and the Port Maitland Marina (not the pier though). You have inspired me to do that, and as a result, I am actually very fond of Dunnville, it’s become one of my all-time favourite towns in southwestern Ontario. I even passed by Knowles diner, but it was closed. Fun fact: Dunnville existed as an official town in southwestern Ontario since 2001.
@@cjhoyle you inspired me to do it LOL, the magic you bring to your bike tours. And it's just like you said, bike touring is truly a way to spend my summer vacation. Thank you so much buddy!!!
Nicely edited and narrated video of this part of your tour. I’ve done bent tours through the Maritimes and along bike trails. Our trails tend to be more cinder track and less pavement, the gate crossings on the trail are not bent friendly. I did a bike tour from London to Nova Scotia three years ago (3000km). Mostly all trail riding and surprisingly flat for the whole tour. I’ll be again doing another ride from London to NS in 2020 but this time going central Ontario toward Ottawa to meet friends.
Thanks! Your tours sound really cool too. I prefer riding on paved surfaces, so I haven't done a lot of rail trails myself, but I know that lots of people love them. What type of bent do you ride for touring? Best of luck on your 2020 ride!
Awesome! Bicycle touring is a lot of fun and I highly recommend it. A few people have requested that I do a video showing everything that I packed, and I'm hoping to do that eventually. Mostly I just carry a small tent, a bag of bike tools, a few snacks, and my clothes.
I really enjoy watching this series. I live in the area. The shells you are seeing at the beach are Zebra mussels, an invasive species brought to the great lakes by ships. Have to watch the zebra mussels can be sharp. Cheers
Thanks, I appreciate it. I'm familiar with zebra mussels, but didn't recognize these shells as belonging to them since they are so much lighter in colour. In my video series where I paddled the Trent-Severn I showed some zebra mussels squirting water from the sides of some of the locks.
@@cjhoyle ya I watched that series. The zebra mussels shells get bleach by the sun and turns them white. I am not sure why they die and end up on shore. Only thing I can think of is from rough water and waves. Have you tried kayaks too?
Another very good video CJ, I'm enjoying seeing all Ontario has to offer. Looking forward to more of your adventure. Question, do you plan on going back to Niagara falls to check out the tourist attractions?
cjhoyle ah the suspense! I also wondered if you were going to take us through the full kit you brought with you inside the panniers and anything you would change if you did it again..
It's something I was considering doing when I got home and unpacked everything, but instead I decided to prioritize my time that day by beginning work on editing the daily trip videos. If there's enough interest I might still do it , but it would obviously be more work now that everything is unpacked.
Recumbents are definitely more comfortable than diamond frame bike. Less pressure on your soft tissue. Imagine a lazy boy chair. Depending on the model, they are faster on the flats but slower up hills. You can ride further with less pain and discomfort.
Haven't watched it yet and already gave it a thumbs up.
Thank you for making this video, I really enjoyed watching it.
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Very meditative, i still remember the sites you passed by i took the same paths towards Niagara exactly 2 years ago. Great commentary
These videos are awesome! It almost makes me feel like I'm reading a good book. Looking forward for upcoming installments. Cheers from Russia :)

Thanks again for the video. You really made me laugh when you showed you dinner a Rock Point Park. Popcorn and pie yum yum.
haha it was a $2.99 pie and marked 40% off... so how could I possibly just leave it in the store! I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
Good job. Really nice videos and fun to watch. Looks like you had a great time.
It was truly a blast. I'm glad you're enjoy the videos!
That's great. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the series!

What kind of camping gear do you haul? Thanks.

I'm glad you're enjoying it! No, I don't have plans to go back to Niagara Falls to do the touristy stuff.
Another awesome video.
Thanks! I'm glad you're enjoying the series.
When you camp, what do you do with the food you are travelling with?
How many flats did you get over the course of the 9 day trip? 😀
The answer to that will be revealed in the subsequent installments of the series!

+1 for interest...
There is interest
will be doing trip first warm dry day
Awesome! Hope you enjoyed the ride :)
Dude I saw my neighbours house dude that's cool.
Is a recumbent more physically comfortable than a default bike? I get the impression that climbing slopes feels more streamlined with less drag?

Sitou Dien Damn, now i have to try out a recumbent some time. Thanks for the feedback.
