Follow The Cipher represent a dirty, dry, rusty and lonesome environment in a devastated future, collapsed by a careless consequence of our past. This is presented through our graphical theme, stage show, our music and the lyrics within it.
Linda Toni Grahn - Vocals
Ken Kängström - Guitars & Vocals
Karl Löfgren - Drums
Viktor Carlsson - Vocals & Guitars

*Doesn't see Sabaton in the title*
"Hol up..."
Guitarist Ken Kängstörm co-wrote the song some years ago with SABATON vocalist Joakim Brodén. Now this anthem has also found its place on "Follow The Cipher".
It’s weird hearing this song sung by a (great) female vocalist after hearing it hundreds of time in Joakim’s rough vocals. Good cover!
"Joakim's rough vocals" is describing him in grandeur. Joakim's voice is enough to describe his voice. He does make some nice music, if one is in the mood for a flat toned chant with metal in the background. But yes this is a nice change.
It´s not a fucking cover.
How do you know that this isn´t the original? And they just sabatonized it for sabaton!
+Fredrik Nordlander Because Sabaton recorded it two years before this band was formed
Yes! but Ken co-wrote this song, so its not a cover when the singer, songwriter, guitarist plays his own song.
Dude literally both versions give me chills. I can't imagine how would I feel if I was Swedish.
I'm swedish and it makes my blood boil
All those in favor of FTC covering the Swedish version, say AYE
@@swedishgooner6339 Why?
@@RenegadeSniperYT I listen and want to go to war. I think there’s a berserker hidden inside of me.
@@swedishgooner6339 Oh that. I thought you got pissed off at the band or Karl Gustaf lmao
The Swedish carolean reanactors are members of KERC - Kongliga Elfborghs Regementes Caroliner. Pär Sundström of Sabaton asked if it was OK for Cipher to use this material, and as you can see, it was. :-)
Sten Johansson Reanacting a Karoliner must be great fun.
So does Sabaton have like inside men within the reanactors and they have to ask for them? XD
@@blakedurston Well, not anymore. That was my idea, but sadly some others in the group said no. So I left the Group. If I can, I will create a new Group, and if and when Sabaton want carolean solider on stage, they will get Soldiers.
@@daspotato895 Yes, it was. I left the Group after they stopped a couple of works for Heavy metal bands. Among them Follow the Cipher.
Guitarist Ken Kängstörm co-wrote the song some years ago with SABATON vocalist Joakim Brodén. Now this anthem has also found its place on "Follow The Cipher".
Glad someone else pays attention to this.
Sabaton has peaked lads! People are doing covers of Sabaton, this is what we have been waiting for. Sabaton are now certified legends.
Not *really* a cover, their lead guitar player wrote this song
One of the best Sabbaton songs. And this cover does it justice.
MadBrainBox Sabaton is only with one B
Indeed.I thought it had a double b for some reason.
Probably from black saBBath or something
It’s spelled with one b *TRIGGERED*
No cover, only their version of it.
Sabaton: Warhammer 40k
Follow The Cipher: Warhammer Fantasy
... you stop that
I don't think so, man. Warhammer (AoS) is now a run down system that used to be a much more complex system than 40k. If you than see that 40k was sci-fi clone of Warhammer and not vise versa you comparison meen that Sabaton covered of Follow the Cipher. You should at least invert your comparision or even bedder find a bedder one, because imo Sabaton ist not a run down system that once used to be good. They are still awesome.
If you mean that the Sabaton version is bedder that the cover, i don't totaly agree with you. It depends on the mood, even if most of the time I prefer the original one.
@@stevenvaughn7159 I think you're confusing something, I'm not saying Follow The Cipher or Warhammer Fantasy is bad. I'm saying this song would suit Fantasy more.
Enemy Forces: Kneel before our nation!
Carolus Rex: No
TO THE SKIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEESSSSS
SEE CAROLUS RISE!!!
Long live the King!
Edit: not the song, that one alwase makes me sad, still a masterpiece tho
@Bautista Jose Rodriguez jajajajajajaja...pobre...🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
LIBERA ET IMPERA
Love this band. I'm usually all about the growls, and blast beats.... but this is amazing.
Really good version of Carolus Rex.
As a Sabaton fan, I really appreciate covers.
Bravo.
So their lead guitar player actually wrote this song
I will always love sabaton's version, but this one is another type of tone. While Sabatons is more militaristic, with the pacing and such, as this one is more of telling the tale of an Epic, of a Legend, of Carolus Rex's Myth.
Kurt Berliner Totally agree with u there man
Kurt Berliner Carolus Rex is turning in his grave at Sweden’s current state
@@ease-l5330 As is all of Sweden's past great kings
@@ease-l5330 I'm pretty sure he is, That country is fucked.
@@ease-l5330 The thing is, until the early 1900s, the Nordic Countries were some of Europe's least developed nations. Is it a different one to the place Carolus left? Yes. Would he like the changes once he had got used to them. Probably most of them.
You guys got to get her back.
Bring back the band!
Sabaton is so Unique in both posture and style. Changing the song style to fit your own was a gamble. I love the effort.
The guitarist of this band actually wrote this song.
I love her voice. Solid cover!
I love Sabaton and I can say that this is the best Sabaton cover, that I've ever heard. It's beautiful honest cover and it made me intersted more in this band. \m/
Radio Tapok is going to end Follow the Cipher's whole career.
18 year old in 1700: I will rule the world by divine right, fight off 3 invading countries at the same time, and be one heck of a Protestant boi.
18 year old now. Tik Tom youtube Biden go brrrr
lmfao someone subscribes to great man history
only he failed pretty hard and is arguably to blame for the collapse of the Swedish Greatpower Age
also, carolus was meh.
The instrumental section is similar to Sabaton's but Linda's vocals make it so much different, so sick!!! I usually hate covers but this one is just amazing!! Great work guys, you're the best
The Metal Worm agree!
Even Sabaton's cover of Twilight of The Thundergod?
I am not a Cipher fanboy so I have to ask...
Cant you hear the extreme amount of echo?
Why praise a fraud? And if she isnt a fraud, why are you praising that she lowers her standard to Brittney Spears level of awfulness? Nasal singing with overflowing echo and choir to carry the song
@@davidhenriksson285 oh gtfo, you know you cane here just to hate, I'm all for Sabaton but this cover was amazing
It’s kind of bizarre seeing this heavy goth imagery contrasted on historical 18th century Swedish soldiers lmao
Didn't really care for this band at first, but this song changed my mind. Great Cover!
It's a cover of a Sabaton song.
Actually Ken of Follow the Cipher wrote it for Sabaton. So not really a cover ;)
That's amazing. Thank you for this information.
+Never Trust Bob that's bullshit, Ken has written and co written several songs for Sabaton
@Never Trust Bob
Open the booklet of the Carolus Rex album. His name is right there under the song title.
3:44 that pinch nearly made my ears bleed.
5/5
I'm pleased to realize the future of heavy metal ...Thanks to Sabaton for going to be the new heavy metal legend which many such a great young band gonna raise on ...like Follow the Cipher. I love this song, both versions
Amazing cover, would love to see FTC live someday! Love them!
Спасибо. I love you
Thank you, definitely an amazing performance!
I love that at the 4 minute mark there's a little joke about the awkward timing of the final chorus of the original - here the backing vocal starts where you'd expect, then the lead comes in to correct it
It’s always refreshing hearing Sabaton covers, although the originals will always be amazing.
Great! I heard in 14th Nov. in Budapest. It was fantastic!
Welp I just found a new favorite band, any band to pull off a cover of any sabaton song deserves my utmost respect
Celé album je absolutní bomba!!!!
I want more plzzzzzz new album I am soooo in love!
I guess I eargasmed.
Brilliant!
I was just listening to Kamelot's new album on spotify then it switched to The Rising by Follow The Cipher and... I'm intrigued. This is f-ing awesome!
Seriously badass... No other words. Just as great and empowering as the normal version.
The title lured me here.
Amazing!!
waiting to see you opening graspop Cipher. Wish u all the best from India...
What an incredible vocal delivery
way better than other covers (specially minniva)
Nobody puts Minniva in the corner.
Minniva is a goddess!!! She is a talented as Linda. :D
Is it possible to Cover Sabaton?
Oh yes it is 🤘🏻
well damn, didnt know my friend (The Carolus Rex in video) was a part of this. Gotta share this with him 🔥🔥
this made it to a local radio station ive listened to for 20 years. And yet i have never heard Sabaton play ever. wtf!
The definition of a cover is literaly somone or some band, performing a song that they did not originally sing, case closed this is indeed a cover, no more arguing
One of my favorite historical figures. And a great cover!
Super video and cudo's for tricorn hats.
Sabaton Carolus Rex it's a Battle Song.
This version is a Epic history :D
För Kung och Fosterland! 🇸🇪💪🏼
Bättre än originalet för fan 💪🏆
To the skies see Carolina rise...
Speechless! Amazing twist to the much different voice of Joakim Brodén
Awesome, can't stop listen to this song
Perfect music ! Thanks
The swedish version would be cool :)
Exactly!
She and swedish dont make me laugh
Filip Leško she's swedish if i'm not misstaken
Yes, She is from Sweden.
Det ska det faktiskt ^^
SUPERRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!
great cover
And great solo 👍
Both versions are so fucking epic that I can't choose. I'll just jam one after the other to get my fix.
Wow what a brilliant cover
Does the original justice as well as adding a new edge
Great job
You guys are so awesome!!
Love this cover! Different but in a good way.
Amazing; definitely 1 of the BEST Sabaton covers EVER
Perfekt senza Bomba 💣 fajn výborný. 👍 👍 👍 Dík Paráda.
Linda this is great!
Honors the original. Nice job y'all
Awesome!
Ja, förfan!!!
Awesome version!
😂😂😂🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥the chills.
Can't get behind it. Every time it starts up I need to hear that strong Nordic thunder Joakim has.
SABATON IS THE BEST!!!
I saw this live in Falun, I listened to recordings if it again and again and now there is a clear and clean version! great! I love this ;)
I really like this cover. Good job.
Heard this on my radio station I listen to at like 1am I was shocked because they never play sabaton. I was even more shocked they played a cover. It's a good one
SUPER !!!
Cool!
Great cover
I know out of context but...
*FOR THE EMPEROR!!*

10/10 cover
Goosebumps!
saabaaton!!!
I'm actually kind of vibing with this cover xD
Awesome cover! Great work Linda. Thumbs up! \m/
Epic cover!
I've seen this video everytime I searched Carolus Rex without Sabaton after it, and I was like "Who the fuck is this? Is this a cover?"
I really enjoyed this cover. Great job!
Fantastic cover, you guys + Sabaton is an awesome combo!
Nom d'un Dieu comment suis-je passé à côté de ça ?
Love it !!!
Some covers are better than the original. This is one of them.
Sabaton covers, neat
Well the guy that wrote the song is playing guitar in this video so I'm not sure if that makes it a cover or not
@@Damo2690 by definition it is a cover
Extreme version of Carolus Rex 👍❤
