I live in the area. Would you be willing to take myself, wife and daughter on a charter with you? We go to the local beaches and I've only found a 70% partial.
i'm not from florida, but there are a bunch of boats down there to choose from if you want to go on a charter. we went with top2bottom this time and they were great. i would go with them again.
I've lived in Sarasota for 25 years now. My very good friend AT, that I met shortly after moving here and was roomys with before he met his wonderful wife Adrienne started a new Charter Company last year. He had worked on various charter boats when younger and then went on to be hired to Captain various charter vessels including one where he took clients out on overnight fishing charters, 200 miles out into the Gulf Of Mexico to deep sea fish for big tuna and other sport fish. Last year, he and Adrienne started a new Charter Company called Coastal Blue Charters with a brand new purpose built Charter Boat and they offer different packages. AT was born and raised in Sarasota and he has a bunch of Megalodon Teeth that he has found himself here just off the shore so he would know where to take you and your family to find some. I have asked him where to go for them and he has told me that you don't have to go offshore and scuba dive to find them. That you can snorkel off of the beaches here. That is something fun and exciting the three of you could be doing regularly once you found out where to go. You could definitely make some memories though by contacting AT, telling him that you want to take the family to go search for the big teeth. They could plan it all out for you, provide everything needed, take you to exactly where they are and show you how to find them. All you would have to do is show up and have a great time. Check out their website or FaceBook page. Coastal Blue Charters.
i had them in the vinegar water for about a week in total, but i checked them every day and I would pull some out that were clean. the best meg of the trip, 3:38 to 4:40 was only in for a day but it wasn't that crusted over. the last meg of the video was in for the whole time.
You got me thinking. I have 100's of teeth that have the tip missing, from a tiny bit to 1/3 or 1/2 of the tooth. However, i don't have 100's of tips. I have a couple. I am sure some were tiny shatters, but i'm wondering why i dont find more 'tips'. Odds are I am just not eagle-eyed enough i guess ;) Seems while you were down basking in the florida sun, i was up in the arctic circle. While i did have 24 hours of sun there, it wasnt exactly diving weather, at least not without special gear!
i don't find a lot of tips either, but i only pick those up when i think the rest of the tooth is under. i'm thinking of one in particular a couple years ago at a land site, i was combing the side of a hill and i saw this tip sticking out and i was sure it was gonna be a killer tooth and then it was just a tip sitting there when i picked it up. it was a good laugh, but its not in my case of now. i suppose it would be a good illustration of feeding damage! what were you doing in the arctic circle?
For the tooth that was in the vinegar water too long that still has a small bit of shell stuck to it, just use a dental pic the scrape that off, it should come off pretty easily. I left a tooth in vinegar too long once and it got that cloudy look to it, when you make it wet it looks normal again, I heard putting a little bit of mineral oil on it keeps it looking like it’s wet - I haven’t tried that yet Great finds!
that cloudy look to the tooth you mentioned, that's what I meant by etching. since i started using the shell trick that hasn't happened but the first time i ever found mammoth teeth down there i left them in too long and that happened. mineral oil does fix that, but once you put it on the tooth keeps that wet look. i advise you to try it out on a broken tooth before you do it on a good one.
Nice haul ,good luck with the next hunt!!
thank you!
Thank you, thank you so much. I love your excitement.
i appreciate that, thank you! its hard not to be excited down there.
Nice dive! Thx for the info on sacrificial shell. Never heard that before
it takes longer to get the crud off but it works good.
Wow some amazing finds!
thank you!

how long do you soak the teeth in vinegar water?

5:09 there is a sand dollar!
there are some nice sand dollars down there!
I swear at 1:40 You moved aside a huge megalodon with a bunch of growth on it for a smaller tooth😮
i does look like a meg but I am pretty sure that was a chunk of coral.
@@blackriverfossils you better hope so😬😂
@@BoostedSpeedDemon if it was a tooth someone else picked it up by now! if it was a piece of coral someone else picked it up by now also 😄
@@blackriverfossils Well, that would suck because it would have been a monster. But if it was a tooth? Who ever found it was lucky
