- We stop by the massive Hasbro booth at San Diego Comic-Con this year to check out three HasLab projects in various stages of progress: the Star Wars Mos Eisley Cantina, Ghostbusters PKE Meter and Ghost Trap, and the new G.I. Joe Classified Series Cobra Rattler Ground Attack Jet! These prototypes give us a good look at how these ambitious projects journey from design concepts to collectibles.

I am looking foward to getting this. I do however wonder why Marvel, G.I. Joe and Ghostbusters Haslabs all have lights, but for all of the Star Wars ones, we have to do it ourselves.

Between Lego and hasbro, star wars fans already have their wallets stretched thin already. Gi joe fans have classified and haslab to stretch their wallets. 😂

Its kind of funny how many Haslabs have been Vehicles to cater to aviation fantasy. The Razor Crest, Skystriker, The Ghost, and now the Cobra Rattler.
I LOVE the Haslab Skystriker. Even though it had a couple of issues it was still worth backing and it it's the ultimate version of the Skystriker. Too bad I can't get the Rattler or the Ghost, because I just don't have the damn space for it!🤣🤣

If they do another run, it will make those who backed the HasLab irate. To date, Hasbro has kept their promise and not reissued any of their HasLab products. That's one of the reasons to back during the campaign.

Great stuff, but that Cobra Rattler is amazing. As a kid I only had the Cobra vehicles and figures with the Rattler being my favorite. It even has the damage plates!

Pre-ordered the Cobra Rattler. Missed out getting one as a kid, didn't want to make the same mistake a second time. I just hope the thing isn't too colossal. I didn't bother with the HISS tank because of the size.

We were 3d printing those cantina tables and chairs back when I got my first Makerbot clone in China more than a decade ago, and yet still they Hasbro using big metal dies to produce this stuff. Why did it take them so long to get around to such a popular diorama scene? Any idea which factory they use? Is it Dragon Toys maybe?

I think the biggest thing that they could do with the vehicles is make it so that they are multiple pieces. So like a ship could be broken up or designed to look good on a shelf. Then I think the idea of being able to create photos with the figures is a genius idea. It is the Crumble cookie design where fans can instagram amazing photos of their figures or what not and really have some beautiful pictures.
Oof... my fully equipped Ghostbusters uniform is gonna be heavy as hell. 😂

I backed my first Haslab this year (OMEGA PRIME! Norm, yah goofed not looking at that one). And I'll preface this by saying I'm not the target audience for most of these Haslabs as I don't have the space or money. That being said, the Cantina seems like an incomplete product considering the asking price. For something that's supposed to be a premium product I would expect all surfaces to be finished. The top of the bar, the tops of the seating alcoves, and the rear of all walls are just bare mold structure. There are also weird, obvious gaps in some structures (primarily around the door section). That seems inexcusable to me for a $400-500 toy product. The Cantina should have been sold as modular pieces at retail.

Thought the A10 was a propeller machine? Not a jet.
Assuming you're not trolling, you might be thinking of the A-1 "Spad" Skyraider.
The A-10 has 2 "cement mixer" engines mounted on the fuselage, between the wings and the tail. The Rattler has those engines in the wings instead, and a third engine in the tail.

Never, lol. They don't care about anything that early. There's good customs though if you Google snake eyes 1984, or snake eyes 1984 classified, v1/2/3/4

Haslab needs to do a one purchase per customer. It's not right that I miss our because there is some basement dweller buying 5 at a time. Average collectors can't get in on them.
It's built to order my guy, back the crowd funding and they make as many as are ordered.
It's done by time you can buy 5 if you want ....plenty to go around

I was going to back Unicron when it was announced. But when Hasbro informed that it wasn't available for international release. So I don't back Haslab products.
But I'd seriously love to know more about the design process.

Hasbro isn't that great.
The thing I don't like about Hasbro is the lack of support for the Furby Community, plus many other toys. They only do help with the newest products only. The Furby Community is quite large, and Hasbro needs to start taking care of the old toys that need a new app to run. Many apps are now outdated and don't work on newer phones. Like the Furby Boom app for the Furby Boom is no longer available on Android. Meaning you have a dead Furby.
Plz Hasbro, get the app updated for the newest Android phones🙏😢

Nothing against the 20 minute Hasbro commercial but - were there any small, unknown, would give their right arm for a plug from Adam Savage’s channel type vendors at the same show? 15 seconds looking at the coolest thing at each table and a video of the same length could promote 80 people, 80 small businesses, 80 dreams

Hasbro talks about family and fans but I'm beginning to see its all corporate greed. I have a script for GI Joe that is truly special and would save the Joe cinematic universe. I also got an idea for a figure (toy) that would make them millions!. Trying to get in touch with hasbro... all I got is they won't listen to you unless your a private developer or investor (we won't listen to fans, just MONEY!). I'm just an artist and writer and it saddens me to see my childhood turned into just a cash grab with no heart.

Im sick and fucking tired of being monetized and having good systems ruined by corporate greed.
Now I play indie RPGs, pathfinder, wildsea, lancer, fate - my 5e books are done.
Now I build my own blasters. Nerf hasnt been good since the elite line and Super Soaker haven't been good since the CPS series 20+ years ago.
Magic has been polluted by card economics, standard is now exclusively pay to win - so my tables are now exclusively LCGs.
And well, monopoly was no big loss, but Avalon Hill won't be seeing another penny, and thats a little sad - but with so many indie KS projects, my Kallax is already bursting.
So fuck hasbro, you're no longer welcome in our spaces. Just like shilling for the cruise industry, I think less of tested for aligning with a company that operates on a predatory basis rather than pushing the envelope on what quality is possible to bring to market.

I really hate Haslab as being a thing. They prey on FOMO, and they charge so much more than they need to. I really like some of the Classified like the HISS and Rattler, but if you don't get it right away, you NEVER will.

I love the original Rattler, but this... wrong scale, inappropriately priced, high-heels on the pilot variant of Baroness? Just no.
Speaking of Hasbro, my son right now is consumed with Star Wars and wants toys to play with (in 3.75 scale). It's sad that in many cases the most affordable options are original Kenner toys off ebay.
The hasbro 3.75 are superior to the old.kenner ones. Better likeness and points of articulation. And you get what you pay for. Those figures are worth the 15 - 25 asking price. It's 2024 not 1984
@@segun78 I respect your opinion on the figure prices. In regards to what my son wants, I'm more concerned with vehicles. Some of his presents will be vintage Kenner due to prices. He doesn't care. He just wants something he can play with in the backyard and much of the TVC is meant for the shelf, not the garden.
It's definitely 2024 and not 1984. In 1984, toys were meant to be played with. Granted the original movies were fresh and other franchises had successful cartoons to push sales in a way not possible now.
Haslabs are some of the stupidest things ever. Let’s make iconic vehicles and characters overpriced (just like all of their products) and say we can’t make it retail even tho they are retail size because we’re lazy and greedy
When adjusted for inflation and scale that Rattler should cost $62, not $325. That's late capitalism for ya.
