Thank you. I play games on my laptop and i think i hit buttons too hard. I coukd only hit each key once so if i hit w 5 times only 1 w would go. I restarted my pc then did this and now it works. I appreciate the tips and will use any time its buggy again
If i press "W" "Spacebar" and "Left Shift" key in the same time sometimes the "W" key or the "Shift" key didnt work anymore pls help!

if it's just one specific key, try getting a can of air to clean out under your keys. sometimes food or crumbs gets in there if you eat by your computer. my tab key wasn't working so i grabbed my trusty can of Dust-Off and windex and gave my whole computer a wipe down. good as new!

Any suggestions for Toshiba satellite laptop keyboard not working ? Can't even open to access control panel its stuck on lock screen!!

If you can’t type device manager, go in tablet mode and then use the on screen keyboard.

The Tech Space but still I have a one problem .. I can't hold backspace. How to make keys to repeat?
I found that if you have a wireless keyboard you will most likely have this problem no matter what you do. But if you plug your wireless plug in a slower usb port the problem goes away especially after turning off filter keys. So whether you have a wireless keyboard or not use a slower usb port. USB 2.0 or 3.0 will give you problems concerning your wireless keyboard or wireless mouse.

For me i am using a cheap fellowes microban keyboard and buttons n, b space and arrows are not working. i have done everything you said and all my stuff was up to date. i dont know what else i can do. i have pulled out one of the non working buttons and tried just pressing the thing underneath and that wasnt working either. any suggestions
Thank you for your suggestions but I do not think that you understand my problem. My keyboard does not work. "type in Device manager?". My key board does not work! I already know how to open DM with the mouse and have uninstalled and re installed the driver. Still nothing. Thanks again for any ideas.

Try spraying the keyboard out with a can of air, this may help. If not, you may be missing the input driver for you laptop in which case you can download that driver here:

Expand this page and download the drivers, I suggest installing all of them. If you are having trouble with one driver, you may have deleted it, in which case something else may have been deleted.

I have a keyboard problem that is very frustrating.
When I push some keys, numbers come up behind the letter, and I must go back and delete them.
when I push z, z1 comes up
when I push x, x2 comes up
when I push c, c3 comes up
when I push v, v4 comes up
when I push m, m7 comes up
when I push , , ,8 comes up
when I push., .9 c3omes up
these are all right in a row, but it is very frustraing when I try to type something. also, the numbers have the reverse effect:
when I push 1, z1 comes up
when I push 2, x2 comes up
when I push 3, c3 comes up
when I push 4, v4 comes up
when I push 7, m7 comes up
when I push 8, ,8 comes up
when I push 9, .9 comes up
when I push 0, the zero goes to the front of the line
when i press turn brightness up it takes me to inspect element
I have a problem with my compaq laptop's keyboard. All of the keys are fine apart from the brightness keys, the E, D and C keys. Basically the ones in a straight line. Is that a hardware problem or is there a way that I can fix this myself?
That is weird. Have you tried taking apart the keyboard and cleaning out things that may have fell under the keys.
This is my issue hopefully you can help. My key board of my gateway laptop buttons, q, w, s, z, and x buttons are not responding. In order to get into my laptop I need to input my password, which requires one of those letters, that dont work. Help is needed dude! Thanks.
You probably just need to clean under the buttons. Buy a can of air and spray out the keyboard and that should fix the issue. Make sure to clean the keyboard as thorough as possible.

Ive had the same problem. What fixes the problem for me (and this is on a Lenovo ideapad 100s) is just holding down the power button or draining the computer battery to 0 and turning it back on.
Yes, this is a rare and easy fix for most simple problems. Great advice!
If anyone has an MSI laptop, the Dragon Center tray program can cause the WIN keyboard key to be disabled. All you have to do is right click on the tray icon and close the Dragon Center program. The key will INSTANTLY work again with no restart needed. I stayed up all night figuring that out. There are no websites or RUclips videos that have the solution.

+Syeda Jesmin Sultana Go to google, type driver booster download, search, download,install it, run it, and restart your pc. Let me know if this helps. Also try cleaning under the keys that are not working with a vaccum and wipe the keys off with a wet wipe.

Can you please help me? I'm having problems at my keyboard it's like one by one the buttons are not responding. Like today the "e" button would work until i open my laptop tomorrow and it'll not work. I don't know if it has something to do with virus or i don't know. Please I just need help or advice.
Their may be something stuck under the button. try cleaning out the keyboard as well as you can. Usually when a single key on a keyboard stops working it is because something is stuck under the key or because someone pressed it too hard and broke the mechanism underneath the button.
I followed you all the way through to the end. When you went to 'owner' , your 'subscribe ads popped in, which blocked out where you went to, & I lost the end all. That said, my problem is funkier than it seems for everyone else. I have a double password log in. The first to 'boot up' screen, the second to 'wake up'. Whats funky ??? I can type in my password to the 'boot up ' screen, I even see my password (encrypted) and it brings me to my 'wake up' screen. Then, nothing. No keyboard response. I then have to restart where it allows me to just add my 'boot up' password skipping the wake up. Once in, I can use my on screen keyboard. I like to try the update trick, but concerned about what others went through. They updated, uninstalled, re-installed then even the tabs didn't work any more.
Tried this twice, the keys still dont work. It all started over a month ago when I ran the new update for windows 10. Keys such as g, h, ', backspace and a few others havent worked since the update.
I keep my keyboard fairly clean, and I bought this laptop (hp) a little over a year ago. Is there something else I can try to get my keyboard to work properly?

+akmaza ary Ya redownload the drivers for your laptop via the manufactures website. And clean under the laptop keyboard to see if that helps.

1) Go to the search bar and type "drivers" click enter
Do you see any currupt drivers/ a yellow icon anywhere?

If not, then try cleaning out your keyboard with a vaccum as something may be stuck under the key.
Are your keys removable? Cleaning will usually fix it, if not it may have been pressed to hard causing the sheet under in to break in that spot. In which case you would have to replace the whole piece.

home screen is password protected and keyboard driver deleted. can't access on home screen pass lock.to proceed .help
Plzz help.. this method also is not wrkng.. my backspace,delete,enter and some of the alphabet also is not workng.. when im typing something only the plus (++++++++++) keeps on appearing..
Try vaccuming under your keys and making sure that their isnt anything stuck under the keys. When you press them do they feel odd? Also try installing 'Driver booster' and running it, this will update any missing drivers on your PC.
my roblem is big the letter p doesnt work on any software or app.I only use osk(onscreen keyboard) to type the p's.Another issue is the P key input goes insane;the moment I boot the Pc it opens the help section where in the pppppppppppp goes on in the search bar of the window.Idk what to do,can I still solve the problem.I cleaned the keyboard and it seems all of the keys except for P doesnt work.What went wrong here?I swear I cleaned it carefully,
