- Ready, get set.. RACE through the store and grab everything possible!!!! My sister and I got to be part of this legendary show.
I was only 20 yrs old and my big sis took me to Hollywood to be on SUPERMARKET SWEEP! David Ruprecht was really nice, the other teams were cool too. We had lots of fun. Wish they'd bring it back so my sons could go on it :D
I was really proud of you two gorgeous ladies for getting your game on!
Yep, fun stuff!
@@suziehammond4998 How are you doing Suzie? I am Rosario Cardillo.
If you went on the Show, who would you choose as your Teammate?
@@markheying2830 Suzie's team because you are watching this video on her RUclips channel.
so lucky! i was only a kid in 1990 but everytime me and my brother used to act like we were on this show everytime we went to the store, haha and and alphie!
Way to go Cynthia & Susie I didn't expect you to win & get the $5000 in just 29 seconds
I know!!! We didn't expect it either, and I swear that we are truly the fastest time in the history of the bonus round. :D
I know it has got to be a record
That is 1 second faster than Rachel & Marissa.
It was so long ago that we were on this show that I don't recall the exact month. All I know is that it was a BLAST!
You're both so cute and pretty :). I was really rooting for you and was grinning when you won. I didn't see the original airing but I'm addicted to this show now.
so Cynthia, did you move with the money?
Thanks! We were rooting for ourselves too. Our "underdogness" really made this show particularly exciting didn't it!!?? Lotsa fun :D
Yes and I noticed David was uncharacteristically encouraging toward you. From the eppies I've watched he doesn't usually make encouraging comments for any team. He must have been rooting for you too.
That's what my sister said! I think maybe because I was the "baby" of the group. The worst part is that we went to grocery stores and really studied pricing and products before we went on the show--- and then came in last. I was very sad and had given up; but my sister kept saying she felt like we were going to win and kept trying to cheer me up.
@"thebizzeebee", yes, way back then, 1990's "Supermarket Sweep" game show had Mr. David Ruprecht as its former host just as his previous studio announcer there was Mr. Johnny L. Gilbert III!
Genuinely, I appreciate it that somebody of you here do highlight & like my [2-months'] worthwhile & accurate comment [mainly] to "thebizzeebee"! Thanks a lot!😂⭐🙏
Congratulations on winning the $5000 in the Bonus sweep.
Also if it was possible, if the Bonus Round is won, there should be a $500 Cash Bonus for every Second left on the Clock.
You & your sister were a great team together!!!
This is from September-mid October, 1990. The second season of this show debuted on 9/3/90 with the SHopping List debuting.
As far as I remember, it usually is common for Sisters to go shopping together.
WELL DONE GIRLS!!!
Franco Benson .. Thanks! It was really fun- stressful but fun!
@@thebizzeebee I would love to go on Supermarket Sweep. Honestly my favorite game show of all time.
@@humps678 Would you have a Girl as your partner?
@@markheying2830 Guy
This should have been called the Sisters Episode. I’ll admit that I was worried about that slow start but what a fast, amazing finish in the Bonus Round!
Sep-Mid Oct 1990 is when it aired because of a movie mentioned in one of the ads as bowing on Friday October 19.
Nice detective work Zach :D I appreciate that!
You & Cynthia have some sweet going on Supermarket Sweep to win the Big Sweep & Cash together company!
You & Cynthia’s Supermarket Sweep Episode featuring you & Cynthia with Cynthia happy to be your Partner!
Surprisingly low Big Sweep totals. That one bonus definitely made the difference.
I know, so cool 😎. The burro on wheels saved the day!
@@thebizzeebeeAlso remember that once the Clock has ticked down to your Team’s Time in the Big Sweep, that’s when you & your Partner start shopping together.
Grocery prices were a half or maybe a third in 1990 of what they are now. Winning totals even in 2000 on the PAX network run of the show were usually over $1K, although the amount of bonuses increased throughout the run of the show. Rarely did a winner win over $1K in the first year or so of the Lifetime run. The scores were only scored in dollars and cents in the first season or two at most. After that, that was only done to break a tie once or twice.
I wish it would be on gsn!!
I remember the day this contestant was having trouble with the shopping cart
Heads up, BUZZR will start airing episodes of Supermarket Sweep from this 2nd season on 1/15/18. I hope they show this episode.
I think they're going to start with the 1991 season.
You just need to keep in mind that when trying to win the Big Sweep & the Bonus Sweep, communication with your Partner is very important.
You know what I know? We won. That’s all that matters.
I would have liked it better if you have your sister a High Five when she got the $200 Bonus.
I wonder how much in taxes they took out of the winnings. Either way, that was an AMAZING job, especially having the lowest time limit too! :D And I definitely think that is a bonus sweep record, I don't remember any other team getting the $5,000 that fast. :)
Wolfman12395
I don't recall the taxes. Although it was a long stressful day, it was a comeback I never saw coming and once we were last I was super sad in between takes. It all happened so quickly at bonus time, it shocked me.
One question I was wondering, I read an article where another contestant said that even after they won, the money wasn't actually paid out for quite awhile. Do you remember how long it took to actually get the money after your show was taped? Also, I wonder if this taping was held before or after they tried introducing those weird shoppers in the first season that were dressed up to make the contestants run in the other direction during their big sweeps :P
In 1990, you could win 5 grand and not give a crap about taxes. Also they get their earnings as soon as the episodes aired.
On tonight's 11/6/18 rerun on Buzzr, 2 ladies on Team 2 also did it in that same time as well.
@@thebizzeebee not me! I didn't go there to lose!

Whoops! (And unfortunately, not one time did David ever mention the "5-item limit" rule).
Johnny Gilbert did a good job in explaining that at times.
My ears!
What did you guys do with the money?
We moved! Gave the money to our mom for first, last and deposit... and there went all the money.
@@thebizzeebeeAlso I have no idea how much $5,478 is in Rupees when Link takes that much back to Hyrule & I would imagine that Link would need a larger Wallet since he could only hold so many Rupees.
What happens if you make a mess and don't clean it up? I would have just tossed the stuff into my cart.
For every item dropped and not put back on the shelf, they would take that number of items and deduct the most expensive items from your sweep. And you had to be careful to only grab the maximum 5qty limit or they would deduct again from the most expensive items in your cart.
@@thebizzeebee thanks for the reply. I wish every game show upload would have a former contestant commenting to get the inside scoop.
You're penalized $25 for each item you don't pick up after dropping it.
@@gameshowguy2000 Also further more, there are Penalties for running into a Cameraman or Market Display.
not sure@@markheying2830
I wonder if you girls returned for the Leslie Jones' version 🤔
I would of LOVED to be on her show. I love Leslie🤗
I don't mean to be rude, Suzie, but are there any other siblings than you two? Plus, what are your real last names?
I would figure that you put this up only because your Team won this Big Sweep.
Isn’t that the point? 🤨🙄😶
Were these the two girls that were on Wheel Of Fortune in 1998?
Actually the year was 2000😉
Was this the 1st appearance of the $5000 alarm?
I want to say so since this is the very first season of Supermarket Sweep. You'll not ever see this on streaming services since they are only showing season 2 and later.
