I have not been to the Philippines yet but in my prep research I have seen quite a few videos on this topic and talked to several Filipinos here in the US. The impression I get is that they are very accomidating and open minded. It seems they give everyone the benefit of the doubt and firmly understnd that no two foriegners are the same. They truly are wonderful people.

Independent, responsible , religious and family oriented Filipino/Filipina are not the type that will initiate first move to foreigners to end up with. Destiny will.
The materialistic, opportunists ones will do everything for foreigners .
It is not only the Filipinos . it happens all over the world.
There is always good and bad sides all over the world.

Great video. Your assessments are consistent with what I believe to be true. We (Wife, daughter, and myself) are traveling to Davao on 6/9 and will be staying there for about 6 weeks. Excited to be making the trip. Maybe we can grab a coffee.

A Filipino's perception of foreigners is based on how socially and culturally aware he is.
If you ask a well-informed Filipino, you would probably get realistic answers -- that not all foreigners are rich, not all are educated, some only stay here bec of the lower cost of living, some act like they are more superior than the locals (🙄 wtf) , most would complain a lot but some are not maarte at all, etc the more you know, the more you wouldn't speak so highly of them to be honest.

Foreigners are just become rich when they are in Asian countries particularly in the Philippines because of the low value of Philippine Peso which at present $1=P58 in peso but take note that when their money is being spent in the US or Europe and are only earning $1000-3000 they are of poor standards.

Hi John, I've heard all of these opinions from the locals. I'll be visiting Davao next week. Can you recommend a scooter rental place near downtown?
I'll be staying near Abreeza mall.

On datingsites many Asian women say that locals are not good men, that they cheat and not treat their women with respect.
They believe that foreigners are the opposite. I feel so sorry for them. Hope they can adjust their expectations and live in reality.

Yes, Filipinas tell me that in person a lot too. Also that a lot of Filipino guys are physically abusive. In reality there are good and bad guys in every country

@@WatchCaliforniaExpat correct. We should not believe everything these Filipinas say. Indonesian women same story. From what I see is that they don't want to make the effort to find a local. A foreigner has more to offer financially and that is their main goal. They also have a desire to live in a Western country. They already have a bit of a Western mindset when they go online. Often times they waste their time looking for that foreigner, years pass by, and they havent achieved nothing.

@@chocolatecookie8571 Maybe, though it seems to me that most Filipinas start by dating Filipino guys and then decide at some stage they want to date a foreigner guy. Though some Filipinas only want to date Filipinos too. I interviewed one Filipina about this ruclips.net/video/4xvRe0yWC90/видео.htmlsi=rdsVXSCppsERycdk

@@chocolatecookie8571 I hear you, though are you against Filipinas marrying foreigners? I know Filipina/Foreigners couples, even with big age gap, that I believe have genuinely very good and loving relationships. For me, being of the same nationality, even the same age, doesn't guarantee a healthy relationship. Most relationships are this way and about half fail in many countries.

@@WatchCaliforniaExpat oh no, not like that. I am all in for mixed relationships/marriagges of different etnicities if that makes people happy. I am in the same boat and I have been refused in the past couple of times because of my etnicity. Not with Asians, they are much more open minded.
I see also that there are many Filipinas who have been in a relationship before with a local, and or have a child from them. I then understand they want to expand further and increase their chances.
What I have a problem with are those Asian women who don't put any effort to find a local. Women with Western mindset I don't like, but that is me personally.

Could it be 'educated' means 'worldly' to them? My understanding is that the Filipinos tend to live local, think local. Whereas most Westerners keep up on global events. That may be perceived as more educated.

not sure where that came from. The world knows the Asians are generally more intelligent, take studies very seriously, obtain higher degrees.
In the west, we're aware of stereotypes over there -- that Americans are poor in geography and blondes are dummies. so i dont know...
