Ultimately, while they did have a pact where it was agreed they would heal Mechamaru's body for information, I don't think working with them in Shibuya was a part of that pact at all. So Mahito and Mechamaru, both understanding that, got ready to fight immediately after the healing. Geto wanted to continue working with him in Shibuya, but I doubt Mechamaru was ever interested, even if he says the deal was off because they hurt his friends. *It did get Mechamaru in on their Shibuya plot, though. He intends to feed that info to the gang, in advance.

On the one hand Mechamaru did betray everyone and has indirectly caused a lot of death and destruction, but on the other hand... If every second of my life was suffering I'd probably do the same thing. So I don't know if I like him or hate him. Either way I love how everything is a mecha anime if you dig deep enough. Also day 105 of recommending the opening and ending of "Spare Me Great Lord". It's a chinese anime, so slightly different to the stuff you've reacted to so far, but it's got some of the vibest music and animation I've ever seen.
Mahito is tying up loose ends - Mechamaru is a student that clearly cares for other sorcerers (as is evident from the conditions of the pact he made), so there's going to be a limit to how much help he would provide the bad guys before becoming a liability (e.g. wanting Gojo to know the plan). Additionally, Mahito is a curse and as such his nature is to cause harm and death to humans. Geto actually has quite an important job. His veil is likely preventing Mechamaru from escaping or communicating (e.g. by controlling his puppet at the school) with anyone else. The girl Ozawa has nothing to do with the twins Geto raised. Yuji had noticed she had pretty and delicate nature, which was reflected in her handwriting, as well as her ability to eat foods others find messy, in a neat and tidy fashion (hence the comment about fish).
