I'm taking my Retro 9's back to Footlocker tomorrow. They got a full run of them so I'm hoping they got more sizes. I ran into the same problem as you except I didn't even try 'em on. I usually run a size 11 on my Jordans, but I'm going to need a size 12 which I never wear. They run short and narrow like AJ 3's (I got wide feet too)
I'm a size 13 and mine definitely feel different. Not in a bad way though. Like you said too I believe its the build of the shoe. Hope your 12.5 is on point for ya.

What's going on Mike Rich? So I got several pairs of Jordan 9s and I'm a size 11-11.5 depending on the shoe. In 9s I go up to the 11.5 always. A lot of people will tell you go true to size with 9s but in my opinion they run about a half size small and if you got wide feet like me the smaller size may be real narrow too. You may actually find you like that size 13 fit even better than the 12.5. Anyway keep doing your thing man. Dooooo iiiittttttt!!!

mines fit the same way and I went true to size snug on the feet if I was playing ball in them they're the best basketball shoes I ever hat on that's Jordan Retros but it's not a uncomfortable feeling as I wore them they start feeling comfortable the my tow at the edge of the shoe did not bother me

I got a size 12, my true size, and they're fitting me just fine right now. Snug, but not tight on my toes, i can still move them.

9s run small to me. Last pair of 9s I bought was the photo blue 9s and I got a 10 and they were killing my feet so I just gave them away after a couple of wears. I had to go up a 1/2 of sz for these
