I feel like people are saying they don’t like it because Addison is in it. I think it’s a good movie and just because you don’t like her, doesn’t mean you can’t admit that she had pretty good acting.
You are not wrong . There are people who despite not watching the movie have already dismissed her performance. However truth must be said , it wasn't good . Her lines fell flat the fact there aren't many close ups of her face during emotional scenes is in itself telling . It felt very disconnected at times and forced at others . Although i gotta give kudos to her on screen chemistry with her love interest and also the influencer portion of the performance.

I didn’t completely hate this movie, the chemistry was good, and the characters were well written. I just thought it was too predictable, and had some cringe and uncomfortable moments. Overall is not the worst Netflix movie i have ever seen.

I actually thought her performance in this was a little lacking, her co star did way better, even in the crying scene, phenomenal work.

The makeover scene was meh and forgettable. The original one was iconic and memorable. This remake could never. Just the type of movie you watch on netflix then forget it after 2 hours. Nothing special.

During the makeover scene, Padget says you have to trust me. Which is what Anna Paquin's character says before making over Rachel Leigh Cook's character in the original.
I surprisingly enjoyed watching it. I think Addison should try something different like a dark role for her acting career to work.
Also Padgett is an ugly name in my opinion.

Honestly I could see Addison in a scary stalker type of movie or TV series. Kind of like what Victoria Justice did with Eye candy a while back.

The movie was very enjoyable! I think Addison did a very good job on the happy/fun scenes, but she could work a little on the sad/emotional ones. But she did good for being the first time!
I actually enjoyed this movie. It was really cute. I’m not sure why everyone has a problem with her because it’s “Addison Rae” they asked her to be in the movie and she took the opportunity. If she’s keeps up the acting she could be really great someday! 💛

I saw this last night and was pleasantly surprised. Addison did a good job for her first big acting gig (at least I think it was) and while it was corny and cringey in certain places I wouldn't say it was a "steaming pile of shit either". I honestly prefer this over The Kissing Both and the only reason people will trash it is simply bc Addison's in it.

I really don’t get it why people are so hateful about that movie. Is it predictable? Yes, it is. Is full of cringe and some moments don’t make any sense? Yes as well. But it’s a goddamn rom-com that’s supposed to be watched with bunch of friends, a bucket of ice cream and hella big bottle of wine when you just want to chill out. If you want to see a masterpiece with ambitious plot just pick something else instead of whining about “bad acting" and "shallowness of characters” for God’s sake!

I think people are allowed to have different opinions. I don’t really like her or know much about her but imo I think her acting wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. They actually had great chemistry but the movie was really badly written, one of the worst I’ve ever seen. The male actor definitely did better than her tho. Overall, it was just okay for me.

The writing was bad as well but giving social media personas lead roles that they don’t have the skillset for is pretty wrong.
