I love it when Cindy and Max switch parts in the beginning of the verses. Terry and Dawns are switching parts in the verses as well! Talented Ladies! Legends!!
WOW! I never saw this. I only saw the one they did on Video Soul. NICE as usual. I LOVE the clarity in Dawn's voice, the jazziness of Cindy's voice, the soulfulness of Terry's voice, and the sassiness in Max's voice. LOVE THIS!
Yo.....Dawn......she loves some good singing, be it hers or the person next to her. Look how she looks at Terry. U can tell she admires Terry's voice and vocal prowess. I love it.
@@lions1179 I disagree with people who think Dawn's voice made the biggest hits. Dawn was given the hits to sing. Did she add flavor? Yes. But they all did.
The classic, amazing, and legendary, En Vogue!!!!! I used to sing this song as a child, strolling around the couch, with a remote to take the place of a mic.lol Those harmonies were amazing, and all of them sang. Thanks for this awesome upload!
K Moore No, Cindy was 28 going on 29 yrs. old, born on Sept. 26,1961; Maxine was 28 yrs. old, born on Jan. 16,1962; Terri was 26 going on 27, born on Sept. 5,1963 and Dawn was 24 going on 25 yrs. old on Nov. 24, 1965 and that was in the year 1990. Exception, if this was 1989, when they started, then they are a year younger.
This performance was so stellar and on par with album cut, that i couldn't tell if they were lip syncing or live, until 1:21...when Terry's voice tweaks slightly. I love these girls to pieces and back again.
@@chooselove4307 that's not true. In each of the verses, she's singing the top note until she leads (and Cindy takes over) and the chorus (where Dawn sings the top). At the very end when Dawn is talking (and the rest of the song), Terry goes back to the top.
@@JamaalABivensTerry is not singing top note, and she rarely does. Terry I always sings alto and that came out of her mouth. She is not comfortable singing high notes, now that does not mean she doesn't but she she is not singing 1st soprano on this song. Terry and Maxine sing all low notes in the group. Those words came out of their mouths, but Terry does hit highs on :Dont Go" and "Hold On".
I noticed that too....In interviews they said when they auditioned, the group was first formed as a trio with Max, Cindy, and Dawn..then Terry made it to the audition late and they decided to make them a quartet because they loved their chemistry. I said that to say, maybe there was low-key competition between Dawn and Terry for that place in the group i.e. the high pitch singer, harmonies, and big notes. Here Terry seemed more confidant, but Dawn became stronger and honed her voice in the later Envogue eras.
You can tell Terry is angry throughout this performance. The tension sits at the centre of her voice, and she is almost using it to vent. She clearly feels Dawn's eyes on her and pays her absolutely no mind. Their disagreement is palpable.
How in the blue hell can anyone put a thumbs down to this? The greatest female R&B group of all time.
EXACTLY!!!!!
Yep, they sang so good, back in the day their singing use to put me to sleep. The album born to sing was my favorite
Them damn outfits🤷🏾♂️🤣😂
Well it cuts off the best part....Max at the end
Because they've never "apart" of anything special.
One of their best performances EVER. Maxine tears it up, Dawn is flawless, Terry is amazing and Cindy is phenomenal. These girls were thee best.
This song was created almost 30 years ago and the message is still relevant today. Sad in a sense. Great performance!
Absolutely
damn I miss the 90's so much we had it all.......classic and beautiful

@@humbleone4800 yep. I have always thought that
OMG they all had absolutely beautiful voices individually oh so rare and talented Ladies... Loved them as a child 😍
Man, they cut Max's part of it off, *SIGH*!!
The\is was amazing...Cindy was rockin the Whitney Houston hair
Girls are so gifted
These are those "flight attendant" outfits Dawn was talking about
Perfect harmony that no other girl from can touch period done game over bye

They looked so young here!!!!

I play this track all the time and have never seen them perform it, until, now, wow! My girls! ❤️🎤❤️🎤❤️🎤❤️🎤
Love the airline steward-esque get-up😂😂😂

@@booginas Lol.
Those outfits were fly back then
those outfits are proof that the money going to their clothing allowance was going in someone elses pocket
Why Dawn looked at Terry like that LMAO
LOL....I caught that too. It seems maybe it was because Dawn's vocals baked the cake .... but the way Terry came in, she put the icing on the cake
😀😁😀
It's Like She Was OK Wit Yo Extra Azz 🤣🤣😂🙄

they cut off my favorite partm with Maxine at the end.

That Cindy is my girl...love em all tho!
DAWN ❤
That was beautiful!

Still my favorite 🎵🎶💯💪🏾👍🏾
Who's singing lead ?? Does a beautiful job with that velvety angelic soprano like Sheila ❤️
They all sing lead
Cindy reminds me of Whitney the wig the height the frame stage presence etc but not the voice

Dawn is great but I don't think she has the strongest voice
I agree. I think Terry has the strongest voice.
Dawn just had the most sex appeal and it factor especially when performing
Max had the strongest voice!
Terry & dawn actually has the same kind of voice and biggest vocal range but dawn sings w/ emotion whatever she sing you gon feel it
Are they both light lyrics sopranos or coloratura sopranos their voices are similar but terry's is fuller
Dawn gave Terry such an evil look when she sang her first high note!......The tension was there from the beggining!!
Jose Luis Borrero I promise I saw that but if you look at Terry she didn't mean to it was natural and not forced she just has a strong voice her
