The McQueen sisters all seem to be in their late teens or into their twenties, meaning they ought to at least have part-time jobs or gigwork, but they don't seem to do anything but hang around the house & the village reading magazines or getting their hair done. JP is one of the youngest and he gets paid for his DJing but it's very inconstant casual work. I have no idea what Myra even does about money; does she live off the dole or child support? (which by 2006-7 would be tapering off).

You can see the double standard Myra has. When see believes hat Alek is shagging JP she wants to drive him out the door right off. BUT when she finds he is shagging the sister she says nothing about Alek having to leave .
brylane2009 Myra could’ve reacted that way because JP might’ve been 17 at that time (I actually don’t know how old he’s supposed to be), so it could’ve been considered statutory rape? That’s my best explanation at it, anyway.
