if you miss the last phase dps check there's a tile behind the boss on the bottom that you can redeploy sutur on

It was going so well but I am a dumbass and retreated Kal'tsit instead of using her skill, I had enough time to redeploy Surt but it was already too late by that point, boss exploded with like 10% health left.

Wouldn't getting the Medal on Normal be a lot easier?

You can only get the medal on normal mode.
If you complete challenge mode with the medal requirements fulfilled instead of on normal mode you won't get the medal at all.
I completed the medal requirements on challenge to show that the strat can be applied to both difficulties.

Is Ptilopsis m3 required?

Don't think so. The hps increase on Ptilopsis between R7 and M3 is minute so you shouldn't need M3.
