Which is the true Sony Flagship - the XZ1 or the XZ Premium? If speaker volume is anything to go by, then it may well be the XZ1. I prefer the XZP speakers though as I preferred the ones of the Z3+ vs the Z3 ones. This muffled sound has more bass and on the XZP it's better done then on the Z3+
That's nice ! If the speakers on the XZ1 sound that good even without Software boost, imagine how good there will perform with all the enhancements though ;)
It would be nice if you could make a short video soon, where you test out each audio enhance tool and even multiple tools together by playing the same song on and on to get a hint what the software can push or not. Thanks :)
Xz1 has louder speaker but the XZP has more balance and stereo feel like

I love it that you do this test but you should have some kind of holder for the phone you use to measure the loudness so the distance stays the same.
Here you can clearly see and hear the xz1 be the better/louder one

The software update of the XZ Premium to Oreo will improve the sound and Sony will make it to the same level as XZ1 more clearer and louder and this update will add the 3D creator app and all the new stuff the XZ1 and compact version have XZP owners just have to wait

Can you please test the ring tone and notification sound in the xperia xz1 because it has always been a week spot on sony phones very low volume in ring tone and notification sound sense the bottom speaker only works for speaker calls and ring tones and notifications thanks a million keep the great work.

The XZ1 is indeed louder but the XZ Premium has a better surround stereo feeling and more hi-res details.
Owning XZPremuim since 2 mths after Oreo update the sound has change it sounds more immersive

+Ryuga Law Spotify allows you to control playback on another device. It's asking me if i want to use the phone as a remote control for the other phone, or play the music on the phone in my hands.
Btekt does the music quality change between Spotify and Music app in Sony? Also is it because both apps have the same account or just because they are near by? And sorry for so many questions!

I want to buy the XZ1 for the beautiful design and good specs but I'm concerned that the speakers won't sound as good as the ones on my HTC One M8. Have you done that comparison? which one is better and by how much?

Both are pretty lack lustre imo , the average white noise in a shopping centre is around 70 decibels , poor effort by sony imo .

Sound is very disappointing!. Yea I’m loosing my hearing being 55yrs young ,construction worker. I came from a blackberry passport so I’m going to get to the point. This phone is not loud at all. With a bit of background noise it’s useless in speakerphone mode. I cant use it in my truck, I can’t use speakerphone near a roadway. Why does Sony even bother with a speakerphone? Compared to most older phones the speakerphone is very sub par. This phone is also a data hog. Very poor WiFi connectivity, costing me a lot in data charges.. screen is excellent, pictures are very good, battery life is poor. Auto rotate gets stuck sometimes and needs a shake. My Sony from 10 years ago was way louder. After 6 months I’m looking to replace this phone. It’s not working for me. I. Bought this phone because people claimed it had good speaker sound!!!! Wtf? This is probably my last Sony phone. If your life is very quiet, you’ll be happy with this phone as long as your within arms reach of a router.
well, still the XZ Premium is the MASTER of XZ1 regardless of the speaker loudness!

Must say I rarely need to have my xz premium at full volume anyway, I do leave the optimised setting on. Vastly better than my old S7 edge and in stereo

It only shows 4k when content is displayed at that resolution. Netflix or RUclips are best sources at present, streaming is not smooth unless your sat next to a 5ghz router with fast connection. Don't even try on lte.
Yep xz1 is better. Since August update my xzp does sound a little louder!

Ahmad Awad yes highly recommended! Been using mine for 3 months now and love it. Gaming and software is a breeze. camera is great even on auto mode but the manual is better if you can experiment. Slow mo cam is great fun too. So far no problems whatsoever.

Ahmad Awad cant really comment on that cos i didn't really get to see the s8 display. But the display on the xzp is definitely great and you wont have any problems even in sunlight. The lowest brightness could be dimmer though. Would be better if there is a night mode on.

Be careful if anyone wants to buy xz1. It's has serious problems with the wifi connection. Every day i have to do restart the phone to have a wifi connection. And I'm not the only. Many apps crash.

It's more like 5% Improvement and not 50% like Sony claim.

Kasidit Wanganusorn sound pressure means the sound is more filtered. It means it is clearer and more sound details.
