Beautiful tank and beautiful fish. I've been keeping africans for over 45 years and will to the end. I have 12 tanks, african peacocks, and haps, and i have tropheus. No tanks as large as yours, but i will be setting up a 300 gallon soon. I love all your tanks and fish. I've seen a lot of your videos. Great work. Later brother
Great looking aquarium and fish. You can tell they are well taken care of by how calm and colored up they are. 600 gallons is a great hap tank size. Subscribed
Thank you! I try to do a 50% each week, but at minimum every 2 weeks. I don't gravel-vac; the fish kick everything into the water column and thus filters. I clean the filters every 3-4 months.
It took a couple weeks but I’m all caught up on your videos and with this one in particular, can you pull the tank out enough to build a plywood sump in the back with enough space to do maintenance. I know you’re moving and will fix it when you move
Wow thanks! I don't know if anyone has watched all my videos before. And that's a good idea on the sump going behind. The only downside would be how far out it'd push the tank. I'll think it over though!
Thanks! And yea, the glass is the main cost. Nowadays, this same piece would cost about $2,000 (way more at some places, so shop around). Probably another $1,000 for other materials. Total ~$3,000. Whereas buying a glass tank this size would be at least $8k, maybe up to $10k.
@@canisteovalleydave Agreed! I've purchased glass from them for a couple DIY projects. Best prices you'll find anywhere. The shipping cost just makes it tough, depending on where you're located.
The two fx6 filters do a great job.
Yea they get the job done! A sump would do better water polishing I think, but these FX6 keep the tank healthy.

Wow thanks! I appreciate the support.
Nice tank! Kinda simple but amazing at the same time!
Try using a seamless sump from Custom Aquariums.
They’re modular
Nice setup. The tank. the rocks. and the fish look great
Thank you!
Great fish; nice rock formation there…
Thank you! It was a ton of work. :)
Love the tank, especially the buccos
Yea buccos are great. Can't wait for these to fully mature. :)
Gorgeous!
Your Aquarium Looks Awesome 👍👍👍
Thanks! I like to think so too. :)
Love the tank can't wait until I can get one like it 🙌
Hey thanks!
Nice tank impressed to see that 2 fx6 is keeping up with the bioload
1 single 300 watt 🤯 that heater is the real mvp you must live in warm climate
Ha. Yea the heater is a champ! I think it handles it well because the tank is insulated around the exterior, and the FX6s add some energy as well.
Amazing tank man making me want to dive back into freshwater again
Love the species list you have in there specially the buccos😍
Thanks! I love Buccos. I wish I had the Lepturas Greens, but just not enough space or money. Lol
Most important SPECS... How much maintenance and water changes on your 600?? Thx.
Beautiful!!! 😁😊🌻

Get a fusco, eyebiter, trout, buccochromis noto, nigriventer, sand diver and buccochromis spectabilis
All of those are amazing fish! I may be maxed out, though, considering some Taeniolethrinops and Exochromis I have that'll go in here eventually. :)
Amazing tank! Do you have any idea what a tank this size would cost to build diy? I’m assuming the glass would be the most expensive factor?

Do you happen to have any pictures of the build?
@@JMCichlids I'm sorry, I don't. But in a few months I'll be putting out a detailed build guide for a 900g.
Not sure if it’s allowed. I’m a new member to this channel, but Joe at Glasscages in TN has glass for custom made tanks.

Шикарная банка 🔥👍🏻
Do a 150 gallon sump if you ever do one
For sure! One day I'd like to get it on a sump.
Red (firefish) Dolphin?
Lovely tank bro!! Check out my 300G sand and rock setup! I have even managed to fit plants hidden from the cichlids!
Thanks! And I like how you put plants in the filter box of your tank.
