1:06 Not the resistance of the wire, the resistance of the load (including the wire)! You can't measure the resistance of the wire by putting a meter in series. And the numbers corroborate it: 4.76 V and 0.503 A, using Ohm's law, gives 4.76/0.503 = 9.46 Ω, which if truncated to 2 significant figures, gives exactly the number on the display of 9.4 Ω.
@2:00 milliamp HOURS. milliwatt HOURS. Please say hours when talking about energy, it's a different unit than milliamps and milliwatts. Its like driving really fast and saying you're going 100 miles when you really mean 100 miles... PER HOUR.

Sorry but the Ohm reading is definitely not the resistance of the cable. It's the LOAD impedance (including the relatively insignificant resistance of the cable on the RHS). A 20AWG USB cable will need to be at least 141 meters long if you're looking for a resistance of 9.4Ohm. And that cable is pretty much unless because the huge voltage drop renders most applications unless.

I still cannot find a tester that shows if you are connected to a 3.0A or 1.5A Rp.
And once again we have the Rui Deng M34C; So besides cost what's the difference? What makes one model better than the other? finding documentation for any of these testers is a death march. Still have not found the app.
Ruideng products are awesome, man. :) I have a DPH3205, which is a step up/step down regulated power supply. And I'm buying things like a project box, banana plugs, 24v 10a adapter (those metal ones) and so on to finally make the power supply with it. :)

as your phone battery becomes charged, the voltage of the charger does not decrease, it will actualy increase a tad bit since it the load will be smaller and therefore a bit of voltage loss

i have huge problems with things that are charged via usb. micro and usb c... probably because of my job. i dont know about you but cables go bad, ports go bad a LOT. plugin chargers go bad. and half the time your not sure whats going bad. this is the ticket
those ohms that device shows is actually just calculated from the voltage and current, its basically just shows the load resistance, not the wires resistance.
Did you validate its accuracy? What's the build quality like? Will it survive lots of plugging in and removing USB cables? I find USB connectors are the weakest link in any device.

Definitely has the 'want one' effect. But doesn't the screen and Bluetooth power usage falsify the results? Or is that somehow compensated?
That very much depends on the design of the electronics now, doesn't it.
If you measure the OUTPUT voltage and the OUTPUT current then you really measure what the device connected to the OUTPUT is using.
I am quite sure this device does just that.
How do I know?
If you connect the device though bluetooth you can read the power consumption no matter the on-device display is on or not. I measured the exact same current just before the display times out and just after that.
(Now of course the bluethooth must still be on, but there was no drop in current (as indicated on my phone app) related to the switching of the display.)
It is not 'compensated' though calculation or anything fancy. The guys that designed this device knew what they were doing.

Did I really hear you say, 'the smaller the wire the faster it'll charge'? (TS4:50) You might want to re-think that. Smaller wire adds more resistance to the total load. Charge current will decrease, not increase.
Meant to say the shorter the wire.
I work with a team of reviewers and we're looking at tracking energy use wherever and whenever possible to display this within our results. We've recently come to purchase this (from another drop shipper), however, with this, and all the others we're coming across, theyt all seem to be of very poor instructions.

- Have you (or anyone else reading this) come across an English version? We've only been given a Chinese version, so struggling.
We have products such as a neck fan that we're hoping to be able to show how much energy used to charge, and any wasted energy after being completely charged or does it cut off for instance, offloading power banks, or for those devices requiring a constant supply, to show usage over 1hr/1day/etc. We're completely new to bringing technology such as this into our services, would love to understand everything about this device.
Tried testing on our Xiaomi MI 10T Pro, which says it can handle 33w fast charging, however I could not find anything to represent this on the app/device, hoping you can help to clear this up a little more for us please.

Favorite 24w-ish portable solar charger?
I really like this and I want one but I don’t know why. So can I get some good reasons I should have one of these. I just haven’t had many problems with device charging. Maybe I’m missing something.
Marc Place I have a simple USB meter (time to upgrade, it doesn't give me enough data), and that cured me of cheap Ebay iPad cables. They charged super slow, and each of them had a different speed. I don't use an expensive cable now, but a USB meter tells me what I'm dealing with. So at absolute minimum you should get a cheap USB meter and test your cables and your chargers.

How do you connect some thing more than 5 volts? Say some thing that draws 12 volts and I want to know how much of power and amps it draws?
So your cable has 10ohms resistance that's why your only getting 1/2 an amp current. I assume your charger is 1 amp??

Its NOT giving you the resistance of the wire, it has no way of testing that. It gives you the battery charge resistance.
can this test data? meaning if i test my USB for power ..what about data? ..some ports show have power..but when i put in a usb pen drive..its not detectable.
there are simple apps to use for this, i don't see any point in what you are requesting.

I have a similar meter for voltage, but it won't work on a low power USB port. (100 mA, 0.50W non-charging USB port.) I wanted to test data throughput on some flash drives. But because my device that I wanted to test use the low power USB ports I was at a loss for how I could accomplish this.
All my quads just got stolen from my Jeep while I ran inside harbor Freight Just to grab a compressor air hose... doors were locked... anyone have anything they wanna sell for a decently cheap price?!?!
