Just imagine this in the west. A country promoting it's own history, values and culture. No wonder they demonise Mr Putin. Slava Russia 🇷🇺 💙
Almost every week they have some kind of event dedicated to the history and traditions of Russia. It's so nice to be able to get involved in them. Even in Australia we don't embrace our past nearly enough.
It is quite possible that with modern tendencies in historical science in the West in 50 years they will say that the Americans discovered Europe...🤦🏼♂️😁😁😁
@@Sergey_Bezhentsev 💯👍😂😂😂
Oh, about the discovery of Europe by Americans... 🤦🏼♂️ Highly likely and almost certainly the expedition was led by an African-American...☝🏿✊🏿
Love this huge totem pole with all the beautiful lights on a bunch of strings strung in a huge circle. The little buildings at this event look cute as well and these little cute buildings reminds me of being in a minerature version of Disney World.
wonderful!
Thanks.
The Pushkin bridge early was as a part of railways Andreevsky Bridge near the Academy of Sciences. In 2000 it was moved and reconstructed for walking
What an incredible set-up and display. Beautiful.
Good for the Russian people to get out and enjoy no matter the weather: tough people.
Why does the west continue to politically antagonize Russia and other eastern countries?
Hi Russell from Sri Lanka. This interaction was really funny. 26:20 😄
im soon travelling to moscow by nxt week for only 3 days travel vacation
Jealous!
national pancake day in usa is shrove tuesday 2.21 23 ihop, intl house of pancakes, give free pancakes on that day. nice walk in gorky park. thx again.
Nice
I would say it sounds like mussel-a-neat-sir(with british accent) ;) A pagan holiday we still celebrate after more than 1000 years of Christianity in Rus :D
Beautiful
Thank you! Cheers! :)
You are an ambassador for Peace ❤ Salva Rus!!
@Travelling with Russell
I love pancakes...wish i was there. It looks so fun. Thanks for sharing
I took your advise Russell and stopped the video, grabbed my dinner from the stove and went back to your 'food section' program. 😃
Thank you, Russel for the video! Really glad that you show our national traditions to different people, in different countries.
ps. There is the most interesting Maslennitsa's tradirion. Young guys climb up the column, trying to get the boot. And one who is able to do it, is the "hero" of the holiday:))
When I was young, my boyfriend (After that he became my husband:)) could do it. There was really fun!! 👍😁
The following video is suppose to be about "International women's day-8th of March".😉
Thanks for commenting. I wonder after he climbed the pole was that the day you decided you wanted to marry him :) I like how the reenact all of the traditions at the different events. I will have to keep an eye out for events planned for women's day on the 8th.
@@TravellingwithRussell 🤣🤣👍
No, one year later. But I was really impressed(not only me, I quess))))
Hi Russell, I really enjoy your patient cinematography, taking the time to slowly and gently acquaint us with your subject matter. I don't know how you simultaneously narrate, navigate and record all these subjects and I'm very interested, appreciate and enjoy each of your videos. Keep up the great work for all of us who can't get to Russia now.
Hello from boy with kattlebell ✌🏼😄
Hello, thanks for commenting and watching. You were so kind and nice two me on both days i was at the event. Thank you. I have a photo on my telegram channel you can also see here -->> web.telegram.org/z/#-1526794139
Hi Russell. Did not you go to the skating rink? You should have tried it as well. )
@te7896 I haven't been to the one at Gorky Park yet.
Russell, just to make it clear. It's the Andreevsky bridge and the Pushkin embankment. Don't get confused
Ahhhhhhhh. Thank you. Too many bridges and names to remember. Thanks for clearing it up for me.

You are such a food oriented person... It takes will to show all those menues

Maslenitsa is an analogue of carnival in Europe, the last day before Lent before Easter.
Yes, also its celebrated here as way to signify the end of Winter as well. Even though on this day it wasn't looking like it.
It's not an analogue at all. It comes from ancient Slav culture, so it's our holiday.

Good job Russell. Thanks for the video.
You are very welcome. Thanks for commenting also.
I wish you could have shown us that big gold clock
I was going to tart there for the video, but i went to the other end of the park first. Next time i am in Gorky Park i will begin at the clock end.

I strolled through your video, salivating and thinking of pancakes. it's time for breakfast. I appreciate the good work that you do.
👍🌹❤
Thank you.
🙂👍💪👏
Thank you.
👍👍👍
We have Shrove Tuesday (Pancake day) which was feb 21st here in Canada. Traditional feast the day before the start of lent (Ash Wednesday)
What a beautiful event! Gorgeous stalls🎆 rides, entertainment for everyone!!! As a former metal smith, it seems to me those guys are Fouriers, and
The fiery pit is a portable furnace…it has to be attended to constantly or it will lose the high temperature to heat and shape the metals, from 🐴 horseshoes to iron pans…. Great vid Russell….so grateful you posted this event….we have festivals of a number of things, but not as comfortable and beautiful as these….
