@@donovanyoung244 That's more the fault of Bears horrible coaching and not getting him help. He had 1 dependable WR during his final season with the Bears.
@@mikevisby8744 Ridiculous. While the coaching in Chicago wasnb't great, Justin Fields is just another great athlete who can't read a defense or make adjustments on the fly. If his first option isn't open he forced the ball (leadnig to turnovers), or tucks it and runs. These guys flourish at a school like Ohio State because they're surrounded by superior talent all over the field -- including a defense that can bail them out of trouble -- and area always throwing to wide-open receivers. They get to the NFL and the throwing lanes and windows are infinitly smaller and tigher, the offenses and defenses are much more sophisticated, and they can't adjust. Fields will be a journeyman and nothing more.
As a finger nail painting hater C. Williams went 6-13 and 4-7 against the bills and he is getting hype for 50% passing completion against a few starters, a few backups and some practice squad players. Lets quit sniffing finger nail polish remover and lets see what he does against starters. I do wish him the best as i do all nfl youngsters.
The media is crazy. 1. Russell Wilson has only played this one game. He was sacked 3 times. The offensive line is horrible and there's only one good receiver . 2. Justin Fields has to deal with the same issues. And the defense hasn't played up to the hype. This team can't compete with it's own division.
One of the throws Dan pointed to with Pickens would've resulted in an interception. Fields also missed a wide open touchdown pass and has only scored 3 points in eight drives after getting more camp reps. It's Russ
I guarantee that when/if Jayden Daniels pulls a move off like that, Hawkins will say it’s the greatest thing he’s ever seen on a football field by a qb 💯
That's on Russ, you have 2 to 3 seconds to throw every play, before the pocket collapse. His "field vision" is this issue. The steelers have a decent line. Not the best line ever, but to put those sacks totally on them, is a bad observation. It's harder for Russell to win now, because it's HIS mentality. That's a personal issue. He isn't controlling the tempo at the line of scrimmage. I would bench him for Fields atp.
for those who play sports or even just football will understand this, when the guy is suppose to be the guy that win you games and no one believes in him is exactly how the results will turn out
Russ is not as mobile when he was in Seattle. Fields just running for his life. Yet if Pittsburgh get back to running game it might work. That offense first string and back ups are bad. Steeler fans have a rough season coming.
Seems everyone wants Russ to fail. He missed all of camp. just started takin snaps w/ the first team this last week. this was his first real action w/ new team, new offense, new everything. his line played horrible. Pickens caught it. would of put Russ at 9 for 10 and 70-80ish yards. Justin Fields played w/ first team all of camp and this was his second preseason game. context matters... will be interesting to see if Russ plays this last preseason game. Typically w/ steelers Tomlin sits starters last preseason game.
I see alot of coaches from the couch in here... Russ has always been a super game manager type of QB, not sure why folks think he is otherwise... but he gets the win when it counts... Last season in Denver, Payton just did not like Russ for whatever reason.. he still produced (26TDs to 8INTs)...
no, caleb wasn’t playing against great competition, but he is in practice, and those guys he’s playing against are playing against great competition in practice, and he’s doing it against both
Whenever I see Caleb Williams move around I imagine him doing his own commentary “ooh, awhhh, SPIN MOVE! He escapes and boom touchdown!” All as he’s doing it 😂😂
The one thing NCAA taught me if you get sucked as a quarterback, your pass rating doesn’t get affected that’s why Russell Wilson takes sacks instead of throwing the ball the way
If the Steelers get Fields outside of the pocket they will be a way better team. I’ve watched every snap of his career and he was way under coached for the dynamic player he is. Let him roam around and do his thing as he is definitely not a pocket/timing passer. Luke Getsy couldn’t figure this out.
If Pittsburgh makes him a backup do you think he goes back to Seattle with his ego completely crushed? Seattle still has Pete Carroll in an advisory role. Its the only place he has proven he can play...he may even be okay with backing up Geno and Howell until he gets a chance
The Russell Wilson slander is literally over the top. Last time I checked neither quarterback was lightning it up. To just bash Russell just to make a point for Justin is just ridiculous
A little advice here. Quit drafting left tackles and try to turn them into right tackles. Obviously it isn't working. If I were Omar Khan I'd tell Tomlin if I see Broderick Jones take a rep at right tackle you're fired. Jones has completely lost his confidence. I'm sick of this.
Jeff's take seems iton clad until you take into account the Seahawks, and Broncos, abyssal O-Lines. I'm not making excuses for Russell, he has lost a step in escapability. But, you would never see Brady or Manning behind O-Lines that bad. Russell has issues for sure, but let's not blame him for getting sacked behind terrible O-Lines... The Broncos O-Line went from 22nd to 11th, from 2022 to 2023, and Russell's perfomance increased similarly.
remember last season how the Steelers looked so good in the preseason just to get the doors blown off them in the first game of the regular season? So I don't really put much faith in either or on how this will correlate to the regular season.
Daniels and Nix will be the only QBs starting after their Rookie deals expire. The more time passes the more it looks as though Sherman was right about Russ..
You know, I was actually thinking Russ should be the starter. People keep downing Russ like he's so bad. But you have another QB in the league who doesn't seem to get down talked like Russ but yet haven't had the success like Russ, Derek Carr just to name one. Russ made good and accurate throws when he had time, and that throw to George Pickens was a catch refs screwed him. With that being said, I'm all for Justin to start because the Steelers can't move the ball downfield and can't score when they are in the redzone. Defenses aren't fearing them, so they have to give defenses something else to think about at least geeze. Start Justin!!

@@AddyRothTVwatch the games and stop just looking at stats
@@howdareyouexistSo you watched and didn't see his 26 TDs? Did you not see the game against the Bears? Typical Fields at end 3 and out, Fumbles for 6, then can't lead a drive for a FG and throws an INT to end the game.
@@howdareyouexist If stats weren´t important people like Prescott wouldn´t get paid, stats are important aswell as games
Dan is amazing for some reason he gets Lamar a lot. He definitely does that stuff
Isn’t Caleb (and the other starting rookie QBs) playing against the starters in the few drives he does play? I think preseason can show more than we believe.
It's preseason folks! Remember when Kenny Pickett was being praised for his flawless preseason last year with the Steelers. Russ is a winner. He will figure it out.
That tackle that was getting pushed around was a 1st round pick and his elbow is also messed up. They have drafted a lot of players on the line they’ll be alright just need some time. I’m not concerned with either QB.
Russ is cooked. Lost his athleticism and can no longer scramble and extend plays. Let Fields start
Are we just gonna ignore the fact that Justin Fields got sacked 2 times in the game of against the Texans last week and fumbled 3 times but nobody wants to talk about that
@flyguy7825 that was last week if you truly truly know anything about football you don't carry last week . He did drastically better with moving with the pocket and then getting out of harms way he moved the ball down field they wasn't ignoring it but it makes more sense with Fields than Russ
@@kaylynalexander I agree, but you’re arguing over trash versus garbage. The only differences is one has legs. The Steelers are forever stuck in quarterback purgatory ever since big Ben retired
@flyguy7825 he did but have you seen Russ he looks Rusted out😅
@@YoitsGoose I would rather run with Trash then Garage Russ😂
Russell Wilson struggling to be a starter, who would’ve thought
Yes. Go on.
People were laughing at the Broncos for having to cut Wilson. Now you guys see how lost he looks most of the time. Dudes a king at taking sacks.
I just love how everyone is surprised by bo nix 🤣. I called it before the draft I said this dude is going to be a winner and a great quarterback and maybe even going to be the best QB in his class
I don’t have an opinion on Russ all I know is Justin Fields is not a backup in that league
Naw he's really not I just don't get how they don't set him up for success 💯
You’re right Fields shouldn’t be a backup in the NFL. He should be in Canada
@@drp37 Bingo. This is like when folks say, "Cam Newton isn't a backup". You're right, that's why he doesn't have a job anymore.
He’s not a playmaker either
Hes not a starter either lmao
Oh god. My take on Fields should be the starter is the same as Orlovsky's take. That's a sign that I am wrong
Man Russell was winning games in Denver and got benched for a better draft pick because they wanted to lose games
I need some Dan highlights
Russell Wilson is getting older, his talent will keep diminishing. Fields is still young and raw, coach him properly and he can become a dependable QB.
Raw? It’s been three seasons and he hasn’t been anybody you can depend on😂 gtfo
@@donovanyoung244😂facts but at this point, the Steelers are so quarterback desperate they need to try anything so I really can’t blame them.
2-15
The media is crazy.
1. Russell Wilson has only played this one game. He was sacked 3 times. The offensive line is horrible and there's only one good receiver .
2. Justin Fields has to deal with the same issues. And the defense hasn't played up to the hype. This team can't compete with it's own division.
Denvers new kits look clean
The receivers have a problem getting open in Atlanta. Trust me Arthur Smith play calling is a problem
Finally ESPN analyst telling the truth about Russ, he's done
Ay yo - can we chill? Like the season didn’t even start yet.
What’s the headline next week: “should Russel Wilson retire?!”
RELAX MEDIA
It’s ESPN what do you expect, bunch of “hot takes”
he should retire and stop embarrassing himself 😂
You guys are doing great, keep it up!
🦾🦾
How is this so good?
Screw it. Just name Allen the starter 😂
My boy Stetson bennett made the exact play for a walk off TD !
Denver played starters versus backups. Stidham has started 2 games in a 10 year career
for those who play sports or even just football will understand this, when the guy is suppose to be the guy that win you games and no one believes in him is exactly how the results will turn out
Says the QB that ran out bounds in the end zone during a game. Dan the man
Russ is not as mobile when he was in Seattle. Fields just running for his life. Yet if Pittsburgh get back to running game it might work. That offense first string and back ups are bad. Steeler fans have a rough season coming.
Damned either way to be honest. They have probably look the same with Dan out there right now
A bad o line is something a scrambling qb can help negate with his legs.
Dan has a point start Fields better upside younger and can use his legs better cuz Russel was struggling bad
The glaze on Caleb when it took him 4 drives to do that vs. 4th stringers
Wilson is just a name at this point its time the media comes to that reality and the broncos saw the mistake they made.
😂Just don’t have it, Sean Payton looks like a genius already.
All I know is that he better win the superbowl this season or stupid
Wilson has missed most of training camp so far due to injury/being hurt and this is his first 5 possessions of the season
Since when does have an ESPN analyst have a greater interest in seeing Steelers winning that Mike Tomlin ?
Daaa...Bearss!
remember last season how the Steelers looked so good in the preseason just to get the doors blown off them in the first game of the regular season? So I don't really put much faith in either or on how this will correlate to the regular season.
Caption says "Orlovsky gives her verdict".. what's up with that.
9:48 this is what I’ve been saying!!!
Russ will prove haters wrong. 9 probowls 100 QB rating 43k passing 5300 rushing 338 Tds 106 int 39 game winning drives. Superbowl champion
Has the offense in Seattle or Denver been better without Russ?
Broncos Fan here ( I know 😢 not bragging) We were making excuses for him, just like that. It will not end well.
ESPN fired RG III and now nobody can protect Russel Wilson.... What a shame 😏😏
anybody who was ever excited about either of these 2 QBs coming to town is hopelessly confused
