    Hey, so I saw you were petting him on the back/wings. If you haven't discovered yet, by doing that you are telling your bird you want to mate, unknowingly. It also stresses your bird out. You're generally supposed to pet their neck and head. I hope this helped

      isn't that the case if you do that to a female, the males don't think much of it

    You have a gorgeous boy there. I belong to a 16 year old female who hates me! She is not sociable, isn't fussed on toys, doesn't really play with anything, tolerates my touch. Darcy enjoys chewing and shredding, can talk up a storm, whistles the Addams Family theme and calls the dog. But...when my husband or son enter the room, she does a complete turn around! Hugs, scratches, love and kisses abound.

      From my experience birds either take to one person, or male or female gender.

      @@mylittleparrots8931 Yep! She definitely prefers males. Silly me learnt that the hard way. I guess it depends on the type of bird too. We had a Cockatoo who loved everyone.

    Not to be picky, but the correct pronunciation (phonetics) would be ec-lec-tus. Emphasize the ec as in Echo, the Amazon device. Thanks for your videos otherwise.

    What a beautiful bird!! I've done so much research and I really want a bird but I'm holding off because i work with chemicals like acetone, pill gel, and some others I feel like that's too toxic for a bird. I turned my garage into the nail studio, so I dont know. Do you think it's safe?

    • @mylittleparrots8931
      @mylittleparrots8931  Год назад

      Probably not, only because birds can be very sensitive to chemicals, do you keep the chemicals in your house?

      @@mylittleparrots8931 I've had experience with birds and I am looking to rescue a parrot soon but I'm currently living in a house with my parents due to my disability being to difficult to handle on my own and ideally they won't agree to having a "loud" bird in the house. I'm currently out of the house 6 hours a day which is also a concern, DO you have any recommendations to ehich could fit my life style?

    • @liz3330
      @liz3330 2 года назад +7

      Honestly in my opinion, birds just don’t seem fit your lifestyle at the moment. All birds are loud and make noise (at least healthy ones do). Birds, especially bigger birds, need lots of human socializing and mental stimulation. Being in a cage won’t offer that. Unless you are spending time with your bird every single minute that you are home, it can be an issue. Birds are lots of responsibility and usually lifetime partners. Most are like 4 year olds who stay young forever. You have to change your life completely for birds. I wouldn’t recommend them for everyone
