Thank You! We’re looking at a new “adventure” video being uploaded October 13th, you heard it here first! It’ll be part 1 of our 3 part series that explores our setting and what was happening roughly 700 some years ago in the realm of Orynsphyr.

@josephpropati5690 Not yet, although I have considered setting up a Patreon. What I’m working on are what other offerings, The Orynsphyr setting, resources, modules, etc. that I can offer outside of the channel. The channel is a labor of love, but for Patreon, I would like to have more quality offerings for and quite often quality takes time! I am working towards this though. I am currently working on a solo sandbox module set in Orynsphyr. I’ve been working on it for almost a year, and I have no release date yet, but this would be the first offering for patrons if I go that route.

@@EpicSolo I was so happy when you announced OSE for season 2! I actually said "F#$K YAY"! I'm currently running my own solo game that uses both OSE and 4AD.

Giselle and (W)Vilhelm are delightful, can't wait to see more of them!

No doubt about it, Giselle and (W)Vilhelm definitely need their own spin off series. The valley girl/Prussian with a broomstick... is an inrrestistable dynamic.

Hi, loving this series and your voice acting is hilarious. I have a question about how some of the story elements came about like that there are these two prisoners and the ship is at the south end of the island. Did you roll for them, I didn’t see it come up on screen. I ask as I’m running my own solo D&D and I find one of the difficult things is to generate new random elements into an existing plot line. All the random generators are great for getting started but not so good when you have a story as the tables can’t account for your context. I usually just roll on a random word table and see what they suggest within my current context.

Thank You so very much. In Episode 5 at 32:32, we searched the Red Cap’s camp asking the fate chart if we found any prisoners. We rolled an exceptional yes which we (eventually) interpreted as “they had 2 prisoners” in the following Behind the DM Screen episode.
Looking back, there’s a lot we could have done with that exceptional yes (they have many prisoners, the ship in the background of the previous scene is used as a prison for the North Cove Pirates!) given the context we went with “they had 2 prisoners,” and I’m so glad we did because Giselle and Wilhelm ended up being a lot of fun.
The decision for the south side of the island being a rendezvous point was a logistical, “map” inspired decision. I love looking at maps and imagining all of the possibilities and intrigues and so we had this rough map with a lot of activity going on in the north (The North Cove Pirates, Alistar’s Manor) and it seemed like the right time to give some context to the south.
Something else that this format, doing the voice acting and role playing the characters, is extremely helpful with is the concept that the characters are telling the story. It’s an Old-School D&D rule that once a player character begins an action or says something, “the toothpaste is out of the tube.” What I mean by that is that when I’m riffing and improvising the dialogue, if one of the characters says something, a name of a person or place, a direction, anything really, it becomes a story element that I try to work with. I try to be as transparent with the process as possible but some of this is just riffing in character and then going with the “toothpaste” rule. I love playing this way. I hope this helps! Thanks again for the kind words and for watching!

In regard to generating new random elements into an existing plot line. Absolutely a challenge when you already have all of this great context seemingly driving the story in a particular direction.
For an existing “main” plot line, I thinks it’s very effective to create a “sub” plot from not only the existing threads, but the existing characters. If I were at a point where I needed some inspiration for a new random element and found that subject: Action/Meaning wasn’t enough given the broader general context, I’d use either an existing Thread or Character, easily randomly rolled for, as the context as opposed to the “main” plot line.
