The hold your head up chords, 2nd fret D to a fifth fret suspended F chord then a first position Esus to E. Not played high on the neck... it does make a difference... I have played along with the record many times... to get the authentic sound, use the lower position chords.
True story.. Ive played over 50 years.. He got it all right except for that strange “tension” chord after the word “up” in the chorus (that he was going so high up on the neck to play) but yeah, that song always had sorta tricky voicing for intermediate guitar players especially... but great demo anyway!
You don't use a plectrum on the guitar intro you use your fingers nails plucking the strings.Look at him playing there's a tonal difference.Havnt seen anyone doing it on you tube.Maybe they can't pick,
