Well Sean,I got it. Flew to Florida and drove it 850 miles back. Man that LT4 has long legs. White,100% stock,51k miles. It got 21mpg running the air and about 75mph. So much fun to drive. The insurance was not very high. Love it so far.
Lovely job. Far too often modded 'Vettes are comprehensively ruined and driven into the ground but this is really classily done, particularly the paint and glorious exhaust sound. A master-class for us all to look up to!
All Grand Sports in 1996 had the LT4 engines. The LT4 engine was available w/o the Grand Sport package though. I added the GS hash marks and other GS accents...hence the GS "Custom".
Actually, in 1996 the grand sport only came in blue with white racing stripes with the LT4 and 6 speed manual. All the regular 1996 C4 6 speed manuals also came with the same engine, the LT4 and on the intake plate, it said grand sport, so basically if you got a 1996 six speed manual Corvette it had the LT4, The automatic had the LT1 and the Grand Sport also had the LT4.
Lol...thanks! I've got quite a few actually. Lots of them are with my other corvette though but were professionally done. If you want, let me know and I can try to email a few to you ;)
I have a 96 Collectors Edition convertible that could use replacement seats. Where did you get yours? and what radio did you get to replace the original? Very nice car by the way...
There was a guy in Florida(I think) that does all kinds of custom C4 and C5 console panels. Some are pretty wild and radical while others are subtle. If you google "custom c4 corvette console panels", it should bring him up. Good luck!
Screaming Eagle Unfortunately I don’t have any online. It was my plan last spring to post some much needed updated videos. Got a new GoPro just to shoot videos of both the Corvettes and the Lightning. These videos are quite old and Ive added some goodies since these were shot. Hoping to finish the suspension on the 78 as well as a couple other mods and get to filming. Keep an eye out!
Know this video is 9 years old but is that the facyory color i know it came on one year dony remeber the year but not many were made if it is facyory color u have a rare color and its not that common to have a factpry lt4 ether cuz alot didnt get 6speed cars and its 96 only right?
So this is a custom color that was never offered on a Corvette. The technical color name is “sunburst orange”. Similar to atomic orange which was offered on the C6’s, Sunburst Orange is substantionally more metallic. In 1996, corvette offered the LT1 & LT4 options. The actual “Grand Sport” option package all featured the LT4 engine with the classic Blue w/ white center stripe paint scheme. The LT4 was an optional engine upgrade that was available for standard platforms. All LT4’s were 6 speed cars. The LT4 engines were only offered in 1996. In 1997, corvettes went to the LS1 platform. Recently the C7 corvettes had LT4 engines but a completely different engine than the LT4 we’re talking about here.
paul moss Well not sure what year your looking at, but everything 95 & older makes it a little easier to mod as 96 was the first year of OBD2. Can easily be worked around but is pricey to dyno-tune. Besides that, pretty solid cars. Mileage, overall condition and price all depend on each other.

How did you make the plastic panels around the console and shifter so shiny like that? Are they brand new or did you spray something on them?

Please tell me this wasn't an original GS.
Hey is there a gallery online somewhere we can see more pics of your gorgeous car? Thanks.
