@@Ty_Cotton99 every team that doesn’t have a natty would take a loss against a 16 if it meant a championship the next year with basically the same players. What a story of grit and determination that’s inspired a generation of young basketball players. Thanks for the reminder.
Illinois has not even made it out of the first weekend of the NCAA tournament since 2005. Illinois should focus on making the Sweet 16 instead of a deep run in the NCAA Tourney. lol
This outcome will be switched in March when they meet. Illinois is your young and will only get better, they’ll be the better team coming into the tournament
Virginia is only going to get better also. Why do Illini fans throughout the years only look at their teams roster and act like only their team gets better as the year goes on?
Illini Up 1 with 3 minutes to play with ball, but it rolled Virginia all the way home Vegas style. Why all the 7 or 8 guys left Illinois? Yet these guys step up and the learning curve .. got them to the final game. Good job.
And to the Kihei Clark haters..this team would not be this good without him. His defense is outstanding and if Bennet thought there was a better option they'd be playing instead. His experience cannot be easily replaced
ILL will still be better, youngest freshest team out there. Only loss so far and like may times, run it back and the result will be in our favor. Learn from the L and move on. Still be an exciting season regardless. ILL should be ranked better than just up 3 spots though. UV A was a good 1st test but polling seems favored but oh well
Tony Bennett's teams are very disciplined and their defense forces you to take jump shots and usually with shot clock winding down. So stop your whining. I bet you lost money on the games
Yes, this is also why the Cavs outshot their first two opponents (from before the shooting) 55-29 in FTs as well. The referees saw into the future, knew the shooting would happen, and then rigged the game in their favor... OR, and I'm just throwing this out there, _maybe, just maybe,_ UVA's game is getting the ball into the paint with their super talented bigs and drawing more fouls than their opponents, who rely more heavily on guard play... Nah, you're right, the refs definitely saw into the future. That makes way more sense.
We'll see what happens when Virginia isn't shooting 3 times as many foul shots as their opponents. The losses are coming. In any event, Bennett got 2 "wins" that will look good at the end of the season. You'll note that Virginia canceled their remaining football games. Why? Because they suck and didn't want to finish 3-9. You can bet that if a bowl game or playoff slot was on the line, the games would have been played.
Congratulations UVA. The best is yet to come.Talented young men.And a dedicated and caring coach Tony Bennett.Still praying for the families.
Illinois basketball looking amazing this season! They’ll definitely end up a top 10 team.
ROFL
If only they had Tony Bennett coaching them.
@@kevingilliam6807 Tony Bennett and Virginia has something that Illinois has never achieved in history and that is a NCAA Basketball National Title.
@@jasonh5547 you’re right, they also don’t have a loss to a 16 seed lmfao

Both games were rigged for Virginia in Las Vegas. Foul shots in this one 32-9. Against Baylor 35-14.
Yet UVA had more fouls called against them than Illinois
