They're reacting to the music video as much as the song. The performance, hair flinging, beer drinking by Sam, and the visuals is the trade-off for a shorter version of the song. I watched the live versions and it's not quite the same, but it's the whole song. 😐

I remember seeing them live "by accident" in 2004 or 05 (around this time). They were supporting WASP on their European Tour. I didn't know any song from them... and then i saw those guys ALL play like hell. Somewhere between the fourth and the fifth song i began to realize, that it could be possible, i'd be standing there with an open mouth since the first note.
Yeah I remember seeing Deadmau5 by accident in 2004. Paid 10 bucks at an afterhour place.
Dragonforce's style of metal is called power metal. If you want to know how to construct a power metal song, I suggest searching for Stevie T's video "How to be POWER METAL". I love his lyrics cheat sheet. This works a little too well, lol.

Not just power metal, Dragonforce actually "dabs" in two subgenres, Power metal of course and Speed Metal and they are GODS at it.
Extreme Power Metal technically. Or sometimes referred to as "Video Game Metal" or "Power/Speed Metal".
Too be fair. They aren't really power metal. Most power metal doesn't seem to get this fast. This would be like extreme power metal which would create their own genre....

the guitarists are truly epic, I love watching and listening to them. Just incredible.
But a lot of people (well less people than I had originally thought) fail to notice that the drummer is every bit as epic. I saw a video version of this song where the camera (2 cameras, 1 kind of above his left shoulder so you can see his drumming clearly and one just on his feet for his peddles) is on the drummer and watching him play the drums you realize how epic that part is as well.
The whole song is just so wonderfully crafted and pieced together, every aspect of it.
Babymetal, Road of Resistance, live in Japan. DragonForce collaborated on it, and it's an incredible live performance in it's own right.
And there we find one of the metal gatekeepers that makes this genre so toxic

Bad jokes aside. You never forget your first Dragonforce experience. This song was my introduction when it came out and I was mad when I learned at that time that this was off their 3rd album. I was like how did I not know about this band for that long? Their earlier albums have some songs even more insane than this. One called Fury of the Storm nearly blew the back of my skull off.

Fact: at one time one of the solos in this song held the world record for something like worlds faster or something. You also watched the music video version which is shorter and less awesome than the album version. Cool reaction though. Love the merch video by the way 😁

I usually don’t listen to power metal but dragon force gives me chills every time.
fun fact they had to film this with a high speed camera to catch the guitarists movements, and even with that the drummer had to slow down so the equipment wouldn't melt.
Just like other people have commented on other rappers reaction to this song, this is what music sounds like when you play your own instruments

True.. but the first live perfomances they were bad.
In more recent vids they have stepped up the game. They drink less, and it actually looks like what they're doing. The last factor? They dont copy-paste. Playing this fast precisely is extremely challenging, and nearly impossible live. Especially if you want to be jumping around. So they left out a few chords, but it does a great impact. Sounds so much more coherrent.
