Excellent interview. The Queen's strength is that she is above the divisiveness of politics. She doesn't reign over the people, she unifies the people into a nation in a way that an elected leader can not. That was definitely on show on Thursday for the whole world to see, and I am confident it will continue throughout the Jubilee.

The thing that has been given short shrift in all of the goings on is the Queen mourning the loss of Prince Philip.
Also note a few of her close and supportive friends have also passed away in the last few years. So, she has been dealing with a lot of personal grief and sadness.
Over the years she has been there for the world and now the world needs to supportive of her.
Possibly out of respect for the Queen.

I was impressed and pleased with the Jubilee strategy with the Harkles, l worry it just stoked the fire for more scathing remarks in the memoir.

They were brilliantly contained. Couldn't complain they were excluded, but never allowed to gather "royal" photo ops to merch. Throughout, they have been treated with infinitely more compassion and dignity than the venom they have dumped on the Royals. Who cares about their moaning book?

She is beloved worldwide. Prince Charles has no reason to hide. Harry's recollections may vary. He was a child, and not privy to much that was going on. He has a child's point of view, not one of a man when creating his ramblings. The ramblings of a man operating at the level of an 11-year-old has no weight.

Charles will probably be extremely sad and upset both for himself and Camilla but it will pass. I think Harry, on the other hand, could find himself completely cut off from the RF once the Queen is no longer with us and will lose what little commercial relevance he has left. No one knows what the book is about unless you have an advance copy. Charles did his TV interview back in 1994 Said his family was dysfunctional and confess to his affair. He also has biography He and Camilla who started the downward spiral of the BRF still will be King & QC. Which they should not be since 2 divorcee should not be head of the church of England. The church change the rules to allowed them to marry.

Yes, she had a real need for male attention and also had mental problems (throwing herself downstairs, showing up on doorsteps crying, chasing men that weren’t interested, bulimia, etc. )......many, many stories from friends who were very close to her and who weren’t criticizing her, just talking about her struggles. Many men would not know how to deal with that (women too, I suspect ).

Even if you do know her, it us only the aspect of your relationship. Her Majesty has different relationships with everybody! Even if is from her own journals, it is from her perspective after the fact, and even then, it is how she perceives it and not as it is or was.

The Queen is an iconic Lady. Through all the various ups n downs she's risen above it all. She's held her head high . An incredible Queen.

If you want to know who the Queen is as a person watch the BBC special entitled The Unseen Queen. She came from a loving, happy home and is a loving person.
And like every normal human, she made mistakes, her family was in the eyes of the public all the time, it is impossible not to make mistakes. But she adored by many, more than people realized.

I was born in a former British colony, when we got our so called independence, all we received was a cup with a coat of arms. Even in a British colony there was no financial support, no healthcare, no welfare or dole absolutely NOTHING!!!
That is how they treat the colonies. Calling us commonwealth for what reason??? They never upheld any part of the agreements.

I never understood why there was any animosity against the Queen after Diana's death. She was at Balmoral with her grandsons who obviously needed her support far more than a bunch of people who had never met Diana. I also find it interesting that neither the interviewer or Morton makes any mention of Diana's affairs as if they didn't happen.
The Queen went to Malta because her husband's naval command was in Malta. It isn't as if she walked away from the family and trashed her family. That's a ridiculous comparison.

There is a wonderful ‘selfie’ photograph two young women took of themselves where the Queen photo-bombed them in the background with a delightful cheeky smile and wave. It reflects so naturally her endearing delightful personality.
What a tremendous and priceless keepsake those two young ladies will cherish for life.
