Nope. No layering. It's all one take with one VERY acoustic instrument. Even the wood is acoustic.
That's why when you buy one of these, they build it with the specific wood you want.
I'm dying to know her microphone setup to see how she captured these luscious sounds-

    Called a guzheng, very interesting!

Bless you! 🤣 Yes I think Jon had a shot at pronouncing the instrument ... probably butchered it.

Absolutely nothing is layered in this song. In some of her other covers she loops or plays over a track but this one is all from her in one take, one recording.

You should check out her cover of "Playing God", it is truly jaw dropping.

We'll have to add it to our to-do list as well!

@@DecadeOceanApart-Music For me, it is one of the best covers that I have watched/listened to. I will be looking forward to see what you guy think (as a fellow Gen-X'er)

Very intresting instrument, like 12 strings that should mean like 3 octaves and she had nice hand work but where did her tremolo bar go? Pretty nice but Tommys version is more crazy, he plays with one finger, normal, from above, with his teeth and some more haha.
