The most entertaining part of the Swerve/Hangman match was afterwards. We had the babyface bleeding out, dead on the floor and AEW just show the crowd laughing and dancing to Swerve's music. 😂
The most entertaining moment of AEW television all year was Omega jumping in 5 foot backwards onto apron when one of his deranged fans showed him her portrait of him
The death match was CZW levels of mudshow. Only thing missing was light tubes

AEW is turning out to be a softcore, LESS entertaining ECW at this point.
Worse than that; it's starting to get to the level of FMW after Onita was fired. Omega's gonna be wrestling an alligator before we know it.

Nana and Swerve are supposed to be the bad guys, but they dance and are over as fuck and people love them. Yet the babyface is stapling Swerve in the face and can't even dance.
AEW is like opposite day, except at least opposite day makes sense.

A bunch of my friends went and most of them hated it, but the AEW super dorks that unironically like the Bucks thought it was one of the best ppvs ever.
When I read the summary of the end of the OC/Mox match I was legitimately mindblown. If OC isn't Tony's boyfriend or something I just don't get why he keeps getting the push he's on.
I was hoping Jim only watched 1 match, turned it off and never actually reviewed this show. That would have been great. At this point in his life, I feel like he's wasting his time, and really he's done so much for wrestling for 50 years, he doesn't deserve to have his later years ruined by this crappy wrestling. I think it's coming to a point where Jim will finally say, fuck aew, I'm done. He can only put up with so much, for so long, and I wouldn't blame him for a second. Honestly, what is the point, when the shows are so bad, the wrestling ideas suck, and the viewership is so low. They are clearly not listening, learning, caring, or respecting anything Jim Cornette says. Fuck AEW. I'M done.

He was the best heel in the world and now just comes off like a pussy that realized he was cool and couldn't take getting validation. Now he's lame too.
Punk held Collision together for it to be the best wrestling show by a mile for like a month or so before it all fell apart.
There's no legitimately good explanation for the state of AEW at this point except for people being paid
by Tony's Dad. Alvarez and Meltzer attempting to defend the gravy train and pretend that it's not absolutely terrible has been beyond funny, I will admit that.
What's that? Tony spent $3m or more on Edge and the ratings went down even more? That's a good thing apparently, according to Alvarez.
I wonder if the TV deal will even get renewed, Warner has to be thinking about just ditching everything except one show, and with a month left in the year, it's not looking pretty.
AEW will go down as the biggest ball drop in wrestling history. It's making WCW and 2010 TNA look like Citizen Kane. It's amusing, but not for reasons they'd want to be.

I’m 8 minutes in, not even past the Swerve/Hangnail match and I’m already thinking “WCW in 2000 wasn’t this bad”. Snowman Tony makes Shitstain look like Eddie Graham.
I didn't see this show but their is no way it could be worse than 2000 WCW w/ David arquette and Vince Russo as WCW world champion.

If any of that bullshit they did was even remotely real, it would have made the Rock/Mankind Royal Rumble match where Foley took the 13 chair shots look like cupcakes and lollipops.
Jim said it best, it’s ridiculous even by video game standards. Barbed wire, broken glass, cinder blocks, furniture, drinking blood, staple guns. They did everything short of sodomizing each other with cattle prods.

The Hangnail v Swerve match was somebody's idea of trying to recreate an ECW match. And that person never attended or watched an ECW match in the day.
You know what I would give to see Brokeback Page vs New Jack (RIP) circa 1997 in a real ECW match? Page would be a corpse inside of 5 minutes.

You have to give credit to the unsung hero of these matches. That's the "stuff manager" that uses 4D space mechanics and Quantum Physics to shove the entire contents of a Home Depot neatly under the ring before each match. I wonder if these geniuses do freelance work? How do you contact them? I have closets and a garage that are in dire need of there expertise.

Last because of Hangnail Page and Swerve match I don’t really ever one to see color in a wrestling match again. Before this match I just never wanted to Plumber Moxley get color now it’s everyone. AEW = Attitude Era Wrestling. They deserve their 300,000 weekly viewers. That's all the people left from that Era. And every year, that number will keep dwindling, and lowering, as more and more senior citizens die. There is no reason to tune back in, there is nothing to look forward to in AEW. It sucks. And now they have Ric Flair, Big Show and Edge, the combined ages of all 3 gotta be near 200. I swear, it's like they want to lose. They use the same 10 guys over and over and over, with no variation, no progression, no development. Compare a show from Feb 2023 to Nov 2023 and you'll see the same cast of characters in the same roles at the same level on the card, doing the same things week after week after week. I am not going to watch AEW when, for example, by July 2024, the same 7 guys are all doing the same things they've done in Nov 2023, and Feb 2023. This really has become garbage wrestling, period. Sports based presentation, my ass. They flat out lied to everyone. Fuck aew.
I think you’ve got your ages and eras mixed up. Most Attitude era viewers were somewhere around early teens to early 30s as it was being broadcast. That puts them somewhere around late 30s to late 50s. Not exactly a demographic that’s dying out.
AEW doesn’t deserve to have its name even associated with the Attitude Era because for all its flaws and drawbacks, during its time it was captivating, must watch TV.
Most attitude era viewers I know are definitely alive, but just want nothing to do with AEW or wrestling in general today because the on-screen characters aren’t interesting and they try and downplay the conflict in favor of dramatic bullshit.
I want to see what Stone Cold is going to do to Vince this week, not whether the Bucks and Twinkletoes are still friends or whatever.

Do you understand now what I mean? Their 300,000 viewers are not NEW PEOPLE, because NEW PEOPLE would tell others, they would INCREASE viewership over time. Listen to Jim and Brian's ratings reviews. Pick a random video from 2023, 2022, 2021, and write down the numbers, and you'll see what I'm talking about. AEW =Attitude Era Wrestling, not for just quality or content, but dying audience members. It will be 300,000, then 290,000 then 270,000, then 250,000 because old people are the only ones watching this crap. Sting, Ric Flair, Big Show, Edge. Anyone born after 2010 would have absolutely NO IDEA who these guys were. People born in 1960 would be all over this shit. Think about it. How old is, Dave Meltzer, for example? 64 fucking years old. Is it a coincidence he's now a SENIOR CITIZEN? NO. There is a huge generational age gap between who AEW THINKS is watching these shows, compared to who is ACTUALLY watching these shows. The numbers and rating trends, to me, indicate only one conclusion: the AEW audience consists of the leftover fans of 1997-2003 WWF. There are only so many of them left alive, and they are not telling other people to watch, tune in, check it out. They are keeping to themselves as they slowly die out year after year, which explains why the rating numbers hover and stay where they are, and only go down slightly year after year.

Its funny that WWE suggested that Cole be a manager! After 2 major injuries, I think they were correct!
The mick Foley violence during the attitude era was cool, but really made me like him was he was like me. He was weird and snarky and goofy. This didn't make me like Adam Page. Instead it makes me question his sanity as a performer. What's weird is it didn't hurt Swerve for me, and I don't know why.

I'll say this as simply as I can. My son really, really enjoyed Mania 40. My young son. He understood the buildup and characters and didn't have to ask many questions in the build, show or payoff.
We tuned in for a few minutes this past Wednesday on Dynamite and we were both so lost. Endless questions from his young mind. Why is that guy talking? Why are they using weapons? Why aren't they counting?
All of the basic wrestling psychology that me and WWE programming taught him in a matter of a couple weeks is undone with a single visit to AEW on Wednesdays. You can't make new wrestling fans by putting out this confusing, dumb ass violent product.

I'll tell U the history, WWE gave us 20 years of rubbish. They only kicked it up a notch when there was competition. I'd rather watch aew than a company that pulls people's strings like puppets.

I’ve thought about this before. I think a good number of them haven’t watched any wrestling from any past era, or they would know what they’re watching isn’t pro wrestling. There are still a few guys there who know how to present pro wrestling, but they’re mostly passed over for new Japan dream matches.
