Beef shank is my favorite part right next to ribeye. I never made them this way I usually cut them into smaller pieces to make stews, soups etc. I'm loving this recipe will try it this way they look delicious thanks for sharing. Well done 👍🏽

My first experience in making them was when we were stationed in the Army at Fort Knox, Kentucky. I have not made them in years. Eating alot of Chicken, fish and turkey. I made this the other day and my husband loves it. I didn't use the PINK salt I don't know how to spell it and can't be bother going to Google to look up the spelling. LOL. I use BEEF cubes seasoning instead. I had it with SWEET Potato 🍠 instead but my husband had it with the white potatoes. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

Thanks for sharing I've been looking at videos all day I knew how I wanted to cook this meat it was my 1st time but I didn't see anyone cooking it the way you did I was interested in a Brown gravy such as your recipe. I did not want a tomato based dish like most of the other recipes. I'm going to try your recipe now except I'm going to finish mine in the instant pot.

About how long total did you braise it in the gravy? I heard 25min here...a little longer. I've only used them for caldo de res so let them simmer a couple of hours. Would love to try this. 😙🤤

When you added the extra gravy in the pan, was it cooled down? I always thought you had to make a slurry and then added in the pan.

Oh definitely longer than 25min. These went for about an hour and 20 min before they were tender.
