      @@PlanetautoUK Hi, I tested one of these which was advertised from a dealer but although i liked it even with the CVT i didn’t like the way it steered like as though the castor is set too much as it wants to centre itself back too quickly into the straight ahead position and although it handles well this feeling spoils it If you know what i mean.? I wonder if the 1.3 model with the standard tyres feels better or is there a tweak to fix the sport out there to make it feel better in this dept?

    Great positive review. Vast majority of other Jazz Sport 1.5 impressions are all derogatory, and just negative about the fact that it is not a mini Civic type R, or does not give the driver engagement like the similar type opposition such as Fiesta, Seat, VW Polo etc. I purchased a Jazz Sport 2018 based on absolute reliability, practicality, and equipment/features, and not on absolute Sport credentials. Sure, Honda VTEC engines need revving to get really going, that has always been the case. Honda has nearly always made mostly reliable cars, along with Toyota and similar Japanese brands. Had over 20 different motorcycles, and most were Honda's, very dependable, but I'm biased I guess. I think my Kawasaki ZX1400 engine in the Jazz might have been interesting though!

    I bought one in the UK back at the end of 2018. All was well for just over 4 years.
    It was an okay drive. Nothing special . Bit noisy at 70 MPH (112kmh). Infotainment system was just about passable. Fuel economy was okay, and it's party trick is that it's quite spacious, with the magic seats.
    But at just over 4 years old, then my low pressure fuel pump went wrong.
    In the USA they had a recall for I'm pretty sure the same model as my one . However Honda UK seems to apparently think that my car was not affected by the major batch of faulty Denso fuel pumps. So I've got a £1200 bill spread over a few garage visits whilst the fault was trying to be found.
    It's really easy to find that there was a massive recall of 700,000 Honda vehicles around the age of my one about Denso low pressure fuel pump failures, but somehow I magically never got one of those, but my fuel pump has gone wrong.
    Honda UK are being really useless.
    I will NEVER EVER EVER EVER buy another Honda car or motorcycle EVER EVER EVER again.
    Things go wrong sometimes, but Honda UKs abysmal response to me has meant I can never ever trust Honda again.

The only thing I've not liked in over 8 years of ownership is the slightly hard ride, and that's it really. I have a Mk2 (I've had two of this variant) and it's a great car, but a bit jiggly over our lousy roads, but great everywhere else. I will probably skip the Mk3 and buy a Mk4 in 2020.

    Hi Chaps, I love the review. You have done a five star job.
    Regarding the MPG on the 6 speed Jazz manual 1500cc: Did your driving style push the car along (using mainly high revs) and what speed range resulting in the 49MPG?
    I was extremely impressed with this figure and am considering buying this model Jazz.
    What do you think the average MPG would be? The quoted figure I have from Honda is 5.8litres per 100kms for the manual which is close to your best.

    • @PlanetautoUK
      @PlanetautoUK  2 года назад

      Thank you David, I drove it at what you’d call a normal pace, but concentrating more on coasting rather than braking, as close to one pedal driving as possible with a manual, on B roads with inclines and declines we regularly saw around 50mpg and tgats with launches out of junctions and foot down at points.

    I’m trading my 2017 Civic Sport for a 2019 Jazz Sport. The size of the Jazz / Fit is much more practical for the lanes and small roads where I live. Technically the Jazz Sport at 130 bhp isn’t as sporty as the Civic Sport, with its turbo, at 183 bhp. And I just hope the gear shift is as cool as the Civic Sport. However the size of the Jazz makes it a lot more fun in the twisties of south west England. The seating is easier to get in and out of too. The magic seats are great. There is the new H-RV Sport out now, which has a the same engine as the Civic Sport, but it’s nearly twice the price of the Jazz. Then there is the size of the H-RV and Civic, which might be great for longer cruises; but for local driving, with easy parking, the Jazz is better. I’ve had a couple of entry level Jazz cars, “S”, in the past, which were practical but not quite sporty enough for good overtakes, but I think this Jazz Sport 1500cc will do it. Nice positive review by the way...

      Hi do you know the difference between the normal Jazz and the +sports? Tks

    • @petewebb6952
      @petewebb6952 5 лет назад +1

      Becat B it seems to vary from country to country. In the UK it is the engine, 1500cc instead of 1300cc. The trim is different too.

      I hv call off the idea in fetching one as seems in Australia there is only the auto no manual

    • @petewebb6952
      @petewebb6952 5 лет назад +2

      Becat B - i imagine there are plenty of other choices in Oz. It’s silly for us to get too fixated about cars (and with me motorbikes). I think we have to work out what we need a car/bike to do for us, then see what we are willing to pay. I mean i wouldn’t mind a top of the range Jaguar, but even if i could afford it it might not be best to meet my needs. Mind you i like Triumph Bonnevilles lol.

      Hmm, we had to think about this one - best bet is to head to a dealer all masked up and actually test it, we’re thinking they’ll likely fit, currently, for how long though, that’s the question, thank you.

      @@PlanetautoUK thanks for your reply that's what i was thinking as my children grow then it may become a little tight on space.
      A slightly different car we have been considering is the new Dacia Duster, it may not be a luxury suv but for space and practicality its hard to beat and there doesn't seem to much else out there that can match it for price either.
      You guys do really good car reviews, would be good to hear your verdict on the new 1.3 tce 2019 duster.

      The prices are pretty unbeatable, the dealers appear good, it’s a good reliable Renault engine, roomy practical and relatively economical, feedback across the board is impressive, we drove one in 2015, even then it was good, the latest look better and are more refined too.

      @@PlanetautoUK It's actually a painted steel wheel and was purchased after a fruitless contact with Honda UK about the limitations of the repair kit provided. As i understand that this omission in now regarded as common to other makers, I plan to sell privately then buy a bike! I also am not overjoyed about the calibration system either.
