I don't know why people keep complaining about their age. Like, a week ago I saw a couple on the TV of a 22 years old girl and a 75 years old man. When it's about love, age isn't important.

But the fact Ib is only 9, doesn't mean they can't be together. Ok, i'm not talking about kiss on lips or other perverted things, but love is not only that. (=w=)
Your idea sure is amazing, I loved it... But they don't feel the love that way.. Is like a big brother/little sister-like bond, so it would mess up the story.. But your idea was awesome, do not take it badly. (If you notice some typos sorry, but I hope you understand what I said.)
ps: so? If you love a person with the same age, and has cancer and he's going to die soon, are you going to stop loving him because of that? It's pretty much the same.
There is no guarantee, though, that a person you love that is the same age will die of cancer though. I'm just saying if you are gonna love someone, love someone who would probably live around as long as you.

Garry x Ib pictures and stories over romantic, but i can see Garry taking a more romantic approach when she's older so it makes sense. Age is but a number once they're passed the major age difference/awkwardness.
