I played Stronghold way back in the day and the create a map feature was what I liked most about it. Now that I have been playing FN for a few years now, I decided that I would probably enjoy the creative mode as I did with Stronghold. I am glad I found your channel. New subscriber here.

@@DirectingPete PC user. With drop to floor on, the trees are remaining up in the air. I tried grid lock off as well as on for a few of the different values. Can't seem to figure it out.
@@DirectingPete Also. Sometimes I place items like tree that I cannot delete. When I went into "play" I was not able to destroy with harvesting tool either.

Awesome tutorial Pete :) I just have an odd question though. I'm NOT into battle mode games, but LOVE to create and design, so once my island is complete can I just freeplay and experiment or do I have to engage in battle??
You can absolutely create an open world game where people can explore. You can turn off guns and pickaxe if you want along with building in the settings. That way you’re just creating a map where someone can run around

Hey Pete I made a battle royale map kinda like yours but way worse and when I was basically done all of my friends called it trash do you have any tips the map was the same water one and they said the problem was that their where to Many areas to swm. Do you have any tips

If you’re still doing these tutorials- could you please help with making a FROZEN LAKE? I made one but the only way to make it icy (players slide) is to use the icy trap mats that make it look horrible 😞

Hey Pete you should add LTMs to your br map like high explosives ect.. maybe make a duplicate island and make that one LTMs and keep the original one the same

why does random music play when I start my island? I have to activate, then deactivate all of my radio sfx to get it to shut off before starting the game or else it walks all over my programmed sfx.

They should add the butter barn in creative
I just got back into the game and I’m on PS4. I don’t get the option for rotate, drops, etc. when I’m holding something like a wall, tree, etc. I can’t find anything to show me how to fix this
when did they make it so hard to build walls properly? I haven't built anything in around a year since I basically quit fortnite but back then it was so easy for me to align walls, floors, etc. perfectly but now I feel like I can barely do anything
Turn off “Build as prop” and you’ll be able to build as normal. Though, it has to be a completely different prop, it can’t be the one you’re already using. You get what I mean?

I don’t even know how to build on terrain Pieces but I know how to add hunger and crafting system
At around 11:20 when you zoom on the options on the left side (delete, copy, etc.) why did all of those disappear for me? I’m new to creative so I don’t know what any of the buttons do yet they were there and then they disappeared idk what I did lol
That’s a glitch in creative at the moment you have to leave and go back to lobby and go back in. Super frustrating

You can duplicate the island and just change the mechanics 👍
You can make multiple game modes in a single map. But it is extremely advanced

@@MidasOnRUclips When you are selecting the map there is a button to duplicate, however you can’t duplicate your currently equipped island. If you switch to another island you can duplicate the one that you want.

I'm literally stuck in an "island hub" where I'm in an octagon shaped room and can't leave it. Anyone help me please
If you haven't played fortnite creative before then you won't have an existing island which means you can't actually use fortnite creative without creating an island which the only exploited way is to go into a friends game who has an island and when you are in it you can go into a rift that they create and you can create an island for yourself. Otherwise you'll only be allowed to do the fortnite creator editor in epic games store but its free if you have a pc with a good enough gpu

Creating on fortnite is hard I have so much trouble it’s not good they need to make it even easier because it’s really frustrating trynna build a map lol
Do you get xp from playing someones map in creative?
Only some peoples maps. There will be an XP badge on the game if it has XP. Epic still has not allowed anyone to put XP on there maps. It’s only on the popular ones

Bro you missed the most obvious question beginners have. How do you start creative mode? From the main menu where is this option?
The problem is they change it monthly. So even if I showed it it would have been out of date by the time you watched. Now it is simply a game mode located in the second row
