Legit one of my favorite Em songs. I remember listening to this religiously my freshman year of college. I’m from Detroit and went to the same school his daughter goes to, so as you can imagine, the stanning is on another level.
Some of his best technical work is on this album. This song is really good musically, and the words interlock with the rhthm flawlessly in many parts. I love how honest as he is about the dark stuff that can go through people's minds. The content on this album makes sense considering what he was going through at the time.

I write my own lyrics and rap so I'm always listening to Em songs differently then most. I'm listening to how be bends words sounds and complex compound syllable rhyming. That 2nd verse was crazy how each long ass line sounded like the next line amd the previous line. He held that rhyming scheme and pattern for a long time. Numerous sounds to annunciate and accent with an accent and that shit doesnt happen by accident. The fact is its magic and no1 can out Rap Em. Some1 probably will be as good or better someday because they will study his music and lyrics and work hard. That could be years and years away. Who knows. U can write the most complex rhyming schemes and patterns ever but u still gotta be able to perform it and make it sound right. Em's greatness will studied after he dies and thats when the crazy ppl that say he's not the best rapper ever will take notice. Relapse has grown on me over the years. Now I have a lot of appretiation for this project and I enjoy it a lot. It's flawed but at the same time it's very creative. I love the beats, the rhyming, the fucked up lyrics and the thematic as well. I think that the fact Em hates it actually adds to the mystique of the album.
